Community Advisor Improvements
Campaign Brief
Community Advisors (CAs) and Veteran Community Advisors (vCAs) are key players of the current Project Catalyst governance process. They assess proposals and by doing that, provide feedback to proposers to improve their ideas for the next fund, and support voter on deciding which proposals are more ready and have higher chances of being successful and impact the Cardano ecosystem.
By improving the assessing process, we improve the whole Catalyst process as a consequence. Therefore, this challenge aims at accelerating the evolution of the whole assessing process of Catalyst.
Potential Directions
- Build new tools to improve (v)CA's work
- Maintain general (v)CA resourses, in collaboration with the community and with IOG
- Evaluate different models of proposal assessment and scoring
- Develop reputation system(s) for (v)CAs
- Develop and assess new remuneration mechanisms for (v)CAs
Why is it important?
Community Advisors are facing constantly challenges but dont have the possibility to actively co-design their acitivity.
What does success look like?
Community Advisors (CAs) submitting proposals as a Team to improve the CAs performance, activity and evolution.

- Number of new tools developed
- Number of new mechanisms for assessing and scoring proposals
- Number of maintenance proposals and groups created
- Number of out of the box ideas
vCA-tool Dev & Maitain - AIM
Solution: Provide adequate funding to ensure that the tools is maintained and additional features are added.
Structured Questionnaire for CAs
Solution: Create a structured questionnaire to assist CAs in their process. This worked very effectively resulting in Good / Excellent Assessments.
Incremental CA assessments
Solution: Allow CAs to start writing assessments earlier. Even when ideas are not completely finished. As ideas are getting refined so can assessments
Improving Integrity of CA Processes
Solution: Identify the community's best improvements on reputation and ranking and integrate these into the parallel effort on CA digital identity.
Enable educated CA decisions
Solution: Create a birds eye overview of the needed information.
dRep's Code of Ethics+Bridges Asia
Solution: I propose a draft of the rules required for dRep and introduce all dRep in Japanese.
Community Advisors Marketing Blitz
Solution: A community advisors marketing blitz is nessicary to promote understanding of the roles responsibilities and highlight the incentives.
CA/VCA Treasury for Rapid Funding
Solution: Fund the CA/VCA community development & operations by establishing a clear purpose & budget for core contributors & services over 6 months.
CA-tool Dev & Maintenance - AIM
Solution: Provide funding to maintain the CA-tool for two funds.
CA Improvement Mechanism
Solution: Develop a reward/penalize mechanism for CA to attract people with expertise and desire to contribute to the development of Cardano.
CA Guidelines Joint Drafting
Solution: Use consenz: agreements building platform to define the CA work and draft clear guidelines in a collaborative, focused and transparent way
CA Academy Certification
Solution: Setting a standard will guide the CAs on their assessments and ensures proposers and the community that CAs have sufficient understanding.
