I reached out to Yoroi’s support during my research. One time it took 3 days, and another time 2 days to receive a response. That seems to be on the long end of what is typically expected for customer support. Consensus among other users is that Yoroi’s in-house support takes at least a day, and that finding help from the community in Telegram is faster. If you’re an internet native coming from other online communities, Telegram, Discord, Reddit, and other forums may be easy to find and use. For many however, these channels of communication may be unfamiliar and difficult to navigate. It also may not be intuitive for those who are new to “decentralized” communities to trust third-party or “community support” channels.

I give Yoroi a Support rating of 3.

Yoroi doesn’t really publish a roadmap. A few weeks ago they posted some teasers about upcoming features on Twitter, but no one I know has been able to see or use these supposed new features in their wallet. Unlike other core developers in Cardano, Yoroi doesn’t have a Discord, Telegram, or YouTube channel with regular updates. There is no published cadence for when updates will happen. It is anyone’s guess if Yoroi will continue to be supported for the ever-changing landscape of mobile devices. We don’t know if new Cardano functionalities will be added to Yoroi - like running a DApp for example. Without knowing that there is a clear roadmap and commitment to keep supporting and developing Yoroi, we hesitate to continue to recommend it to newcomers, especially with more wallet vendors entering the space. With most newcomers being mobile device users, it is important to know that whatever mobile wallet we recommend will work with their phone two or three years from now.
