Detailed Plan

Wada SingularityNET AI Brief:

 • Artificial intelligence offers great hope for the future. Its domain explores possibilities around reducing the mundane work that humans do so time and energy can be spent in higher pursuits.
 • Wada recognizes the immense value that AI will offer society. We've incorporated AI into our roadmap for Africa because we believe AI can help accelerate the process of bringing African nations up to speed with other advanced nations. Implemented in a democratized way, by combining it with blockchain, AI can catalyze the levelling of the playing field, pushing knowledge, value, and sovereignty to the edges and unlocking opportunities for marginalized people and all others.
 • Historically, access to advanced forms of computation have been reserved to small elite groups that have used their findings to design systems that further consolidate their privileged and power. SignularityNET is arguably the most advanced and most accessible to the public AI toolset available. SinglarityNET let anyone create, share, and monetize AI services at scale.
 • In July 2021, Wada joined the 1000 Black Voices + SingularityNET accelerator out of the UK. The accelerator provided expert education from leading practitioners as well as one on one training and strategy sessions from SingularityNET top engineers business minds.
 • During the accelerator Wada introduced the tech stack for its DAO that includes a SingularityNET component in the compute layer. See exhibit x.
 • Blockchain, AI, Africa and Wada DAO.

Key Statistics:

 • AI can produce business productivity by 40%
 • AI is expected to contribute 15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030
 • Startup companies using artificial intelligence received more than $7.4 billion in funding during Q2 2019
 • 63% of consumers believe AI will be able to solve complex problems in the future
 • 84% of global business organizations believe that AI will give them a competitive advantage

The above statistics illustrate the demand for AI. Wada recognizes the potential of AI and we believe it to be essential to all future economic activities.

Key Results:

Artificial intelligence will revolutionize business although, like all things, it will come at a cost. Part of that cost is locked up in collecting, storing data, and processing large amounts of data. For AI to realize its potential, effective data collection and processing regimes need to be in place. This infrastructure will need to be designed and implemented.

Wada + SingularityNET use cases

 • General use AI - AI induces efficiency which reduces the time it takes to complete labor intensive tasks. Wada plans to incorporate AI in places where they type of labor deployed doesn't benefit the evolution of the person but ties the person to menial imprisoning tasks.
 • Incentive structures - Incentives are a native component of motivation. Incentives drive the inclination to work cooperatively in large complex groups. Wada seeks to use AI for the identification, distribution, and refinement of incentive structures to encourage cooperation amongst network actors
 • Unemployment and underemployment - Unemployment and underemployment represent sizable challenges on the African continent. Wada seeks to deploy AI to assist with cataloging the unemployed and underemployed. Understanding this metric will add value to Wada's vision of providing education and skills training in Africa. It is our hope that AI agents can help facilitate a skills matching engine to help better understand the range of skilled persons in communities.
 • Food Security and farming efficiency - One of the base things to fix in an emerging economy is food security. "Civilization as it is known today could not have evolved, nor can it survive, without adequate food supply - Norman Bourlang." Wada recognizes the enormous importance of food security and we seek to use AI to better understand and provide models for ensuring food security.
 • Electricity and internet services - In this world of digital technology the ability to facilitate an idea to its completion requires stable electricity and internet. Wada seeks to use AI to better identify, understand, and build models around improving the electrical and internet services.
 • Additional use cases…

These are big problems and Wada is committed over the long term to helping to solve them.

Solutions:

Wada recognizes the enormity of executing on the use cases above. We plan to use the funds allocated by the community to set up data ingestion regimes. Data collection is fundamental to AI. The infrastructure for collecting large amounts of data is essential to training and enabling AI and that understanding is reflected through our chief aim in this proposal.

We plan to:

 • Provide various data collections devices (And data storage management)
 • Drone surveying
 • Cameras
 • Questionnaires
 • Observations
 • Interviews
 • Archival documents and government sources
 • Employ hundreds and eventually thousands of people on the ground to collect data
 • etc…

Consequences:

The anticipated consequences of the actions above are:

 • A quantitative understanding of the problems on the ground
 • Sufficient information for designing AI models to test
 • Employing people in the communities we serve by building a network of information gatherers and other
 • A database of general information (Not attached to PII) that's available for consumption in the Wada network and ecosystem support.
 • Engagement from the communities we serve through involving them in the process of identifying, analyzing, and resolving identified issues.
 • Refinement of data collection techniques to find what works best in an African context
 • Having enough data to train AI models

 • 1000 Black Voices + SingularityNet

Conclusion:

It's not a secret that the difficulties faced by emergent Africa represent some of the biggest opportunities on the planet. Furthermore, AI is essential to the rapid development of the African continent and is being researched and deployed to improve efficiency in markets across the world. To be competitive, Africa too must embrace AI.

With Cardano as the base layer of our solution and the services offered through SingularityNET as one of the main components to our compute layer, we believe we can impel efficiency and accelerate the development of core products and services on the African continent.
