Building a browser based wallet extension, that is highly dynamic, but very simple and intuitive at its core.

Problem:

Cardano needs a wallet with a very intuitive, easy and playful interface as well as high flexibility to unlock its full potential for dApps.

Detailed Plan

Nami Wallet is a browser based wallet extension and can be injected into the browser context in order to interact with dApps (decentralized apps).

Nami can be downloaded from the Google Chrome Store here: <https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nami-wallet/lpfcbjknijpeeillifnkikgncikgfhdo> and already has over 2000 users.

The wallet utilizes the serialization-lib (https://github.com/Emurgo/cardano-serialization-lib) for wallet keys creation and transaction building. Blockfrost (blockfrost.io) is used in order to fetch blockchain information, making the wallet a light-client wallet but it can also be turned into a full node wallet since you are able to connect your own node.

The wallet can handle thousands of assets, it displays them with images and allows you to quickly search through them.

Our goals are to enable users to interact with Cardano to its full capacity, to bring smart contract support in, all the while making the interface user-friendly and keeping the entry barrier low. That way, people can join the ecosystem without having much prior experience with blockchain or cryptocurrencies.

The next steps will be to:

- Acquire feedback on the current wallet and to see what users want

- Contribute on existing libraries such as the serialization-lib and standards

- Support smart contracts

- Making real use cases example by implementing Nami in the SpaceBudz marketplace

- Create tools and libraries to make it easier for developers to interact with Nami

- Creating a hub website showcasing Wallet & tooling functionalities

- Extend Nami with hardware wallet support and a mobile version

- Improve Nami API documentation & provide code implementation examples
