Clear Contracts Catalyst Proposals: Detailed Plan

This is an initial plan for how we are going to provide value to the Cardano ecosystem by creating technology to facilitate DAO creation, governance, and execution. We are excited for feedback and thoughts from the community. We are always looking to obtain guidance and are looking for people passionate about this type of project to join our team. Clear Contracts is a decentralized smart contract management architecture powered by the Cardano Blockchain. The architecture is carefully designed to provide a non technical solution for users to engage in automated decentralized executable code blocks. The architecture enables users to create, manage, and execute custom smart contracts in a no code manner.

The primary objective of this project is to facilitate DAO creation, governance, and execution. We aim to lower the barrier to entry to interact with high assurance, audited smart contracts.

This document lays out the plan in a series of technical and business development phases. Please see the included light paper for more information on the project.

Phase 1: Release of Beta Product (Q4 2021)

We are currently working on integrating with the recent PAB update from IOHK. Once we achieve integration we will launch our Beta Product. Our beta product is a no code smart contract management platform that enables users to create, manage, and execute smart contracts. This beta product interacts with a simple escrow smart contract that utilizes captured user interactions to ensure correct deployment of the contract to the blockchain and ensure the correct releases of funds. To see how this contract behaves you can view page 7 and 8 on the white paper included in this proposal.

The goal of this beta project is to provide a proof of concept for templetization of plutus smart contracts.

In this phase we are also obtaining a smart contract audit to ensure our users the contract will behave exactly how they expect it to, without fail.

The main objectives of this launch is to get users to interact with our smart contracts, get feedback, and provide a proof of concept for us to build DAO tooling around.

Phase 2: IDO (Middle Q1 2022)

In this phase we will be launching a token to decentralize our project. The key objectives of this phase is to build our community to get the right people involved in our project as well as raise funding for further product developments and initiatives.

The utility of holding/staking our token will involve the automatic redistribution of transaction fees that our smart contracts carry out to the DAO/token holders as well as the ability to participate in the DAO through proposal submissions and proposal voting.

Phase 3: Build DAO around current infrastructure and templets (Early Q1 2022)

This is the phase of our project that we believe will provide the greatest utility to the Cardano community. In this phase we will build a DAO around our current infrastructure. The key outcome of this phase will be to build templated smart contracts to facilitate DAO creation, governance, and execution.

Key Technical Developments:

DAO Creation Smart Contract

This development will be a smart contract template that allows for streamlined DAO creation. This will enable DAO creators to fill out a simple online form to formalize the details of their DAO. We are looking to get in touch with anyone who has experience in DAO creation to define exactly what should be included in this contract template.

Iterate on existing escrow smart contract to encompass proposal creation and DAO member voting

The smart contract we already have has the ability to track votes and include a description of the contract. We will iterate on this smart contract to allow for a proposal within a DAO to be submitted to the members of the DAO to vote on. Depending on how the vote goes the contract will be automatically submitted to the blockchain for execution.

Split Equity Smart Contract

This development will be a smart contract that will automatically distribute funds that hit the specified DAO wallet address to token holders. This contract will work in conjunction with the tokenmics specified by the DAO project. If you would like to see exactly how this contract will work please get in touch with us.

Phase 4: API development (Q2 2022)

In this phase we will develop powerful and easy to use APIs so that organizations can implement no code smart contract technology into their existing workflows. This will be key in growing our ecosystem and enabling creation of DAOs in the Cardano ecosystem. This development will enable our smart contracts to be integrated into third party applications.

A key part of this phase will be increasing our presence in high traction markets.

Phase 5: Expand Smart Contract Library (Q3 2022)

This phase will be a community driven effort to expand our smart contract library to brainstorm, propose, and create new smart contract templates that will help drive adoption, expand the ecosystem, and create the most benefit for the world.

How we'll measure success:

3 months:

Launch proof of concept audited escrow contract to the public

Form a community of > 10,000 individuals

Build fundamental tooling for DAO formation

Partner with > 5 pilot DAOs to build alongside for rapid feedback

6 months:

Enable treasury management through templatized smart contracts

Enable customizable DAO governance

Integrate tooling with partner DAOs

12 months:

Obtain audits of all DAO tooling

Launch v1 product to the public (Q3/Q4 2022)

With $50,000 we will be able to build out the infrastructure needed to launch our IDO to further fund our project into the next phases of project development.

$20,000 will be used for contract audit.

$30,000 will be used to pay team to develop smart contracts in order to expand no code smart contract library.
