[IMPACT]

We will develop a game for mobile using react-native. Here NFTs which we will sell for cheap (slightly above minting cost). Possibly some of you remeber the popular "Alchemy" game, we aim to build a similar game on Cardano using NFTs, where the game logic is already built, and the design & connection to use Cardano NFTs is to be set up.

Here two NFTs need to be combined to obtain a new NFT with different traits (e.g. in alchemy it was "water plus dirt equals mud")

Also due to the nature of tradability of Cardano NFTs within transaction, we will automatically implement a "play-to-win" mechanic, where rare combinations / difficult to access combinations will be worthy.

How is this achieved in detail: We aim to "evolve" our game, so that some combinations are only possible for a certain time of epochs, thus allowing these obtained NFTs to be limited. From these also possibly a few further NFTs can be created by combinding, which will additionally spread the rarity and thus the worth of the NFTs. This "play-to-earn" mechanic is free of "draw a rare NFT by chance" which is in my eyes simply gambling. Here the combinations and when and how often the user plays defines how rare NFTs the user can achieve.

Gaming consist of different sectors, where small mobile games are present in every persons life who owns a smartphone.

We aim to bring Cardano to all those players and gamers by building a game that is fun to play and allows "play-to-earn" mechanic intrinsically.

A major risk is, that the adoption is slow as Cardano is not that widespread. However, exactly for this purpose we built this game: bring more of the normal game sector to Cardano and NFTs.

[FEASIBILITY]

Within the first two months after funding we will build the dAPP including either SC, or server backend logic that runs the game when sending NFTs to a specific address. Here also the designs of the game elements will be finished.

Within month three to four we will make an initial "mint at minting cost" sale of the first NFTs that are to be used by our connecting game.

1000 USD for each developers to keep going (we don't need much funding as both are probably employed / already funded at the time of the project, and will continue on this project in all their free time).

The money is just needed for the starting point, it is aimed to fund the project mainly via NFT drops & the game.

We are two experienced react-js and react native developers. We have early Cardano NFT-experience (minted a collection in mid of april: cyber-punks.xyz) and members of our team were part of the plutus-pioneer cohort 2 and 3.

We search for a designer who knows the NFT space a bit, and will ideally bring already a fan-community to start this project with.

[AUDITABILITY]

The success of development process can be audited by release of game features within the react-app.

The success of the game can be measured by

  • monthly users
  • secondary marked NFT sales
  • reviews / articles about the game and size of the community

Build a game that is used by many Cardano-fans and allows them to convince friends to try Cardano out in an play-to-earn and simply fun game, thus growing the Cardano community with people that are mainly casual mobile game players.

This has not been funded before. The small amount of funding asked for will be used to onset this project, and probably another more detailed funding round will come.

SDG Rating

To be honest: we neither aim to enhance any aspect of the SDG nor work against any SDG. We aim to build a game that is fun to play.
