[IMPACT]

For our POTM campaign, we plan to involve artists, gamers, and ADA holders to learn more about problems with wildlife in our oceans. They can do what they love to do and at the same time contribute and be part of the change.

All the involved people will have to benefit from this campaign and most important the wildlife in the oceans will benefit too. Winning artists will get prizes, gamers will get a new NFT card to play in our game World of Pirates, ADA holders can invest in our game, and in time they can get profits. Wildlife will be helped by professional organizations like WWF, Sea Shepherd, Little Fish DAO, and many more.

Our campaign is split into two parts:

  • the art competition
  • the NFT fundraising

For the art competition, artists from the gaming industry will be targeted to participate in the competition. We will form a panel of experienced artists to score the art competition. In addition, the community will be able to vote for their favorite art and a weighted score will decide the winner in the end.

With the winning illustration, an NFT will be created to be integrated into our game universe, where players can buy the new card to help the wildlife in our ocean and our game development. As always the revenue will be split 50% - 50% between the World of Pirates development and the project for which we are raising funds.

Being involved/participating in the campaign will make artists and gamers understand that blockchain games (games on-chain) can be more than a Ponzi scheme or can't damage the climate if the right blockchain is used. Like the Cardano blockchain & community, which promotes green energy nodes. Plus it is a POS (proof of stake) blockchain and not POW (proof of work), so it doesn't need the same amount of energy to work. We show all the gamers and artists that through our game, we are ready to take the next step and take action in helping the wildlife in the oceans and other sustainability projects.

Bringing more gamers and artists into the community and making them aware of the Cardano blockchain capabilities will fulfill the current Challenge (<u>Gamers On-Chain</u>).

We learned from our first campaign that the main risk and challenge is to don't invest too much in promoting our campaign. For our first campaign, we invested around $1,000 and we got around 10,000 social media engages, but from that, we had only 30 conversions, and the main conversions were from the blockchain world.

We saw that regular gamers and artists aren't interested in the blockchain world because they consider this either harmful for the environment or that the blockchain doesn't bring them any benefit. We want to change that and with our campaign and our new model to integrate gamers into our world, we are confident that we will attract new gamers and artists to our project.

In the past our prizes were between $100-$200 for the winner of the art competition, we plan now to raise the prizes to $1,500 for the first place and offer the next two places also prizes ($750 & $350). With this, we will create a worthy competition for the artists to invest time and try to compete. In addition, we plan to bring at least 3 renowned artists as judges to provide feedback and scoring for the competition in addition to the public/community voting.

Then we can promote our art competition to the gamers and let them see that some of their favorite artists are participating in creating the game art for our project.

[FEASIBILITY]

The current POTM campaign #2 will finish in June 2022, after this, we can start with the next campaign at any time (if it is needed to wait we can also do that for a limited period of time).

First of all, we will pick a new campaign to support. For now, we have:

  1. POTM Campaign #1 - Sea Shepherd
  2. POTM Campaign #2 - Little Fish Foundation

For this will run a poll on one of our social media that our followers can decide between a number of organizations that help either wildlife or climate change (preferable something with the ocean, but not necessary).

For the POTM campaign #3, we can start the art competition in May 2022 and will give it at least one month time for the artists to prepare and create their best work. (We currently are thinking from 01.05.2022 to 30.06.2022). And this will conclude the first phase.

The second phase will be the voting and the judges' feedback & score, which will take around 1 week.

And the third phase (15.07.2022) we can start already with the NFT minting, integration in the game, and NFT campaign that can take place up until the end of August 2022.

In September 2022 we will send the funds we raised to the supported project of our third campaign.

Art Competition

  • First place - $1500
  • Second place - $750
  • Third place - $350

Judges for the art competition (min 3): $500 (x3)

Minting the NFTs: ~$500

Marketing the whole campaign:

  • Gleam tool for 3-4 months: ~$700
  • Promotion through marketing studios/freelancers: $4500

[AUDITABILITY]

Our KPIs:

  • how many new artists are participating in our art competition (pre-campaign)
  • how many NFTs from the new campaign are sold
  • new followers on Twitter (from the date we start the campaign)
  • how many engagements do we have on social media (Twitter, Facebook & TikTok)
  • new members on Discord & Telegram (from the date we start the campaign)
  • how many websites hits we have
  • running a survey to see how many new gamers are entered our community and they weren't aware of the Cardano blockchain

The success of our POTM Campaign #3:

  • over 20 artists to participate in our competition
  • more than 50%
  • reach at least 2000 followers on Twitter
  • reach 300K engagements on social media (currently we have ~100K)
  • around 2000 members on Discord & Telegram
  • at least 150 per day (currently between 20 and 40)
  • more than 60% of new gamers & artists that are not aware of the Cardano blockchain

Previously we had an unfunded proposal: https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/384265#idea-tab-comments

Currently, we started the game development without getting funded, but this proposal isn't related directly with the game development as it is more to the awareness of the project to gamers and artists that are not part of the Cardano world and show them that even if we are a blockchain game we can still contribute to the world (wildlife) in a sustainable way!

SDG Rating

SDG goals:

Goal 14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

SDG subgoals:

14.1 By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution

14.2 By 2020, sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems to avoid significant adverse impacts, including by strengthening their resilience, and take action for their restoration in order to achieve healthy and productive oceans

14.4 By 2020, effectively regulate harvesting and end overfishing, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and destructive fishing practices and implement science-based management plans, in order to restore fish stocks in the shortest time feasible, at least to levels that can produce maximum sustainable yield as determined by their biological characteristics

14.5 By 2020, conserve at least 10 per cent of coastal and marine areas, consistent with national and international law and based on the best available scientific information

14.6 By 2020, prohibit certain forms of fisheries subsidies which contribute to overcapacity and overfishing, eliminate subsidies that contribute to illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and refrain from introducing new such subsidies, recognizing that appropriate and effective special and differential treatment for developing and least developed countries should be an integral part of the World Trade Organization fisheries subsidies negotiation4

Key Performance Indicator (KPI):

14.2.1 Number of countries using ecosystem-based approaches to managing marine areas

14.1.1 (a) Index of coastal eutrophication; and (b) plastic debris density
