Like last month, this was a big month for us in regards to development of our platform, as well as advertising the project across TikTok and YouTube. Firstly, and the most obvious, is we've greatly expanded our product pool, which has also helped in rounding out the look of the site. Next, we removed the out of place connect button from the top for Cardano wallets and integrated them as a selection in the actual product view. Along with this, and the most exciting part of the update, we officially have mainnet Cardano transactions! As our platform utilizes Shopify's backend product database we also had to create a shipping form linked to our cryptocurrency checkout. This form connects a wallet to an order and also includes product options such as color. We eventually hope we can integrate the transactions directly into the Shopify database and have our crypto orders appearing there as well. Finally, the last major update to the platform comes in the form of displaying the product prices in ADA.
Since our last report we have launched our first product along with its accompanying repository. After deploying our wallet connector last month we have deployed functioning test net transactions with multiple wallets (nami and eternal). Steady growth on the tiktok side of our community along with rapidly increasing growth on the YouTube community (44k views this month up from 20k from last month).
This month we plan to achieve our first sale in ada, begin making headway on smart contracts, add two more products/repos, and double our YouTube growth.
We are gearing up for our first product release. The last month has been spent on developing and filming a product we intend to release into the market to our 150k subscribers. In parallel we have been building out our website which will facilitate the sale of this product through a Cardano web3 interface.
We intend to scale the business through continued releases of 3d printable products. Each product will have a dedicated repository containing a tutorial on how to build the product. This information will be free and open to the public. Along side each repository, users will be able to post "makes" of the product which they can sell to other users who don't feel like tackling the build. This entire setup will be structured in such a way that the original creator of the repository can collect small royalties on sales within their repos (via web3 and smart contracts).
Our current capability is centrally controlled repos with centrally controlled product fulfillment via web3. Our plan is to iterate through our first sale with web3, and then experiment with federated decentralized fulfillment. Lastly we will make our repos fully decentralized.
As a final note I would like to say that our current stage of this project is looking somewhat different than our original proposal. This has made me somewhat apprehensive about reporting. The nature of good development and engineering is to make logical trade offs in response to the objective reality of obstacles. With that being said I am trying my absolute hardest to bend our original proposal into the reality of development capability and market conditions. In my view, any funded project that does not do this is doing the Cardano community a disservice by dooming their project to failure.
Making steady progress! Very close to a soft launch
Slowly but surely evolving the project. Almost to the point where we can start funneling the community we created onto the website!
