Detailed Plan

<u>INTRODUCTION</u>

We would like everybody in under served areas to have access to fair finances. Cardano could be a very powerful solution in making this possible. If infrastructure is lacking on-boarding new users can be difficult. Most of the current solutions rely heavily on personal smartphone possession.

The idea is to create an ecosystem of devices using QR codes for communication. For a visualization of the idea see: Gamechanger_Totem-e8f45c.png in the attachments.

Starting with a store placed device called the Totem. The totem has a display that has the interface of the Gamechanger wallet in kiosk mode. Using printable QR codes to store some of the wallet information it is possible to view and interact with the wallet.

In a later stage we intend to integrate an easy way of running a stakepool from the totem. The stakepool then would be location based and visible at maps.gamechanger.finance. Staking rewards can then be used for local community improvement projects including network expansion. Using Atala PRISM as reputation score could be coupled to the stakepool operator. This way users can give feedback on the advice they are given at the stakepool hub and the local actions carried out in local communities.

Already developed is a prototype point of sale terminal in fund 5. Hardware design will be opensource, like the paper wallet terminal. Project is setup as an experiment where full project cost are not fully covered by the budget. If the experiment is successful we will evaluate if a business model can be setup around extra services like integration of business into the idea.

<u>SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS</u>

This project is evaluated against the 17 UN development goals. We aim to reduce poverty (1) with more fair financial infrastructure. Cardano uses less energy than comparable financial systems and can thus be more environmentally sustainable (13). With more stable and transparent financial infrastructure future economic growth is possible for everybody (8). <https://sdgs.un.org/goals>

<u>PROJECT PLAN</u>

Step 1: Develop the Totem (2 months)

  • Create rugged housing totem components: 7 inch touch screen, USB camera, ticket printer. (1 person x 120 hours = 200 x 60,- = 12000,-
  • Further Gamechanger development and app integration (2 person x 200 hours = 400 x 60,- = $24000,-

Step 2: We would like to start the first node hubs at Technical Universities in Argentina because of generally good internet connectivity there, user enthusiasm for new technology and relatively close to the developers. (2 months)

  • National University of Comahue
  • National University of Rosario
  • Technological Institute of Buenos Aires

Step3: Develop an android app for a handheld with printer(1 month). This is used for mobile user on-boarding. Minimum viable product.

Step4: Grow the Cardano network across the continent.

Project duration estimated to be 2 months.

<u>BUDGET</u>

The budget consists of development hour costs, purchase of components, development of prototypes and marketing and outreach. The budget covers, step 1 and preparations for step 2 - 3 for fund 7. Budget breakdown is as follow:

  • Totem housing design: $12000,-
  • MVP of the Totem stakepool device (3x): 3 x 1500,- = $4.500,-
  • Further development of the Gamechanger wallet: $24.000,-

<u>PROJECT TRACKING</u>

Jira will be used for project tracking.

<u>RISK ASSESSMENT</u>

Getting components into Argentina is sometimes difficult and subject to large import duties. As these are physical devices they can be subject to more stringent government action as compared to internet activity. It could be beneficial to start the project as a demonstration / Testnet only setup.

Big Gamechanger wallet release! Lots of cool features, needed for the totem to work well.

  • Persistent Storage: No more mnemonic copy pasting on every new browser tab.
  • Smart scan: For scanning QR codes directly from the wallet interface. For payment links for example or login into your wallet with a QR code.
  • Express wallet: Print an encrypted version of your mnemonic as a QR code. You can remove your wallet and then add it again using smartscan. Good for easily onboarding users. By selling pre-filled wallets for example

We are working now on integration of all parts into a complete product. Still going to need a lot of polishing.

Still some delay on fabrication of the housing.

This month parts arrived to assemble the first prototypes. And prototypes have been assembled. Most features work except for installing the stake pool. This will take longer than expected. Next estimate is that project will take 2 more months to finish.

  • You can print your wallet address as a QR-code from the touch TFT interface (see video).
  • You can login to the gamechanger wallet using a password encrypted QR-code. (see video) .

Idea is this device is installed in a shop and users can interact with the Cardano blockchain without needing an expensive smartphone. We are building 2nd powder coated prototype at the moment.

The housing for the totem is finished. The powder coated version has now also arrived. We are working on the software for the stake pool creation. Next week we should have a demo available. We should be very close to completing the goals of this proposal.

  • Proof of concept is nearing completion. We have a working stakepool setup made with ansible. You can find the project in the Gimbalabs gitlab repository: https://gitlab.com/gimbalabs/dandelion/ansible-dandelion.
  • We make contact with a NUC in the device. This device has 2 UTP ports. 1 connects to the internet and the other to the RPI with display module. The kubernets installation was starting on the same subnet as the second port. Leading to some conflicts. Solved now. And we have a working display on the Totem to install the stakepool. With only a few clicks of a button.
  • We had some issues syncing to the testnet. Where we had to downgrade to 1.35.2 because 1.35.3 was not working.

We should be ready to test stakepool setup next week.
