[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

The Adosia team will design, build, and deploy additional features to the Adosia Decentralized Manufacturing Marketplace. The minimum viable product for the marketplace was funded through Catalyst Fund 8. These additions and improvements will provide more features to the end users of the marketplace and improve the overall quality of the experience for manufacturers who participate in production for the marketplace.

The following features will be added to the core of the marketplace functionality:

  • Profiles for Operators
  • Fully Automated Shipping Integration
  • Guild Networks
  • The ability to sell/transfer rights for a manufacturing file.
  • Management/Priority Queueing, to ensure fair distribution of in demand jobs.

About Adosia Decentralized Marketplace

Adosia's decentralized fulfillment network is essentially composed of numerous smart contracts, including contracts for the marketplace, the printing pool, quality assurance, NFT role minting, 3d printer and shipping and receiving.

The smart contract associated with the 3D printable NFT marketplace will house user-submitted 3D printable NFTs which contain one or more .stl files along with any designer royalties referenced in the NFT metadata. The user will interact with the marketplace smart contract, selecting all the NFTs they would like to have printed, which will then create a new "purchase order" NFT capable of traversing the decentralized Adosia 3D printer operator network. Once a user holds a purchase order NFT, upon paying an appropriate fee, they will be able to initiate a print job for that NFT with the Adosia network. Upon successful print job completion the printer operator fulfilling the print job will be paid the majority of Ada with the appropriate 3D designer(s) being paid designated royalties. The Adosia smart contract will also earn a small fee for the Adosia treasury, with all participants being incentivized early on with Adosia ADO tokens.

Current Implementation

All on-chain functionality will be provided by the printing pool, purchase order, and printer registration contracts. These contracts will allow a customer to get a purchase order and have a registered printer accept the job for printing. The printer registration process has already started with the Adosia ambassador program.

What To Expect

Users will be able to buy an NFT of a purchase order that will allow them to choose to print one of our special designs via a registered space printer. The printer will then ship the 3D object to the user who will receive the object and confirm its quality. At this point, the purchase order will be returned to the user and the printer will be paid ADA for their services. It is a simple product but it shows what is technically possible now. Blockchain and the tangible world will mesh together and this is just a stepping stone along that path.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

This solution will address the challenge through the key metric of increased quality of existing products & integrations through suggested improvements that are supported by customer feedback or increased usage by the community. Integrating these features will position Adosia for more rapid market penetration.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The primary risks in this project revolves around the Shipping Integration and the Queuing tools. We will attempt to work with multiple shipping interfaces, and complete as many as possible, but we understand that some of the shipping interfaces may not be able to integrate easily, and as such, we may have to create workarounds. The Queuing tools will require careful design so as to avoid a system that discriminates unfairly.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

The Adosia development team will design, build, and implement six new features to the Adosia marketplace in a 4 month timeframe. Each of the 6 new features will be developed and deployed by the team, and will be monitored.

The Adosia team currently meets regularly six (6) times per week across various teams. We regularly track relevant action items, tasks, needs and progress and we adapt as necessary.

We keep target timelines and measure progress against those while regularly refactoring to account for unknown unknowns as they are revealed

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

  • Profiles for Operators 30k

  • Fully Automated Shipping Integration 45k

  • Guild Networks 32k

  • The ability to sell/transfer rights for a manufacturing file. 35k

  • Management/Priority Queueing, to ensure fair distribution of in demand jobs. 33k

This proposal is a continuation of a few different proposals submitted by various team members.

In Fund 8 Adosia was successfully funded for the initial MVP of this marketplace and the CardanoBox system. https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/405271

This proposal from Fund7 was a lightweight implementation of the model outlined under this proposal (not funded): https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/385120

This proposal submitted by Jia in Fund7 was funded, and provided the SpaceX engineers compensation to design all the rocket parts needed to execute a dynamic 3D printable rocket NFT drop: https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/383141 - The Adosia ambassador team is currently printing all rocket parts as we vigorously are iterating through tests to ensure Adosia delivers the highest quality design.

Monthly Reports

Our team evaluated the user journey for the Adosia Decentralized Manufacturing Hub. We produced extensive internal technical diagrams that lay out each step of these new processes. This step of our journey involved our senior programming staff, our design staff, and management. We reviewed each new feature, set out expectations, and made sure that the technical requirements could be met in the programming phase. We gathered user data, and agreed on questions for a usability survey that would feed our UI/UX designs in milestone 2. We have provided a video memorializing this process, a copy of which is available here: https://youtu.be/rf2o_52CtxM. We also released a PDF document with the slides used in our video, here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sgYJPyFCKCcThSbf1vRTfhZeuri-Rq7m/view?usp=sharing

The UI/UX Design phase is completed for the Adosia Marketplace. The team held several meetings during the preceding month where we determined all of the core areas of functionality and made the necessary design choices to add additional functionality to the Marketplace. We have created a public wireframe UI/UX document that contains the current elements. The public document will continue to be updated, and it will be used to build on the future milestones for our project, including documentation, and code releases. We are on track to meet our third milestone in January, when we show the reporting on the code repositories and give more sneak peeks to functionality of the Marketplace. By early January we should have completed the initial rocket drop, and stress testing of the back end systems will also be well under way, as we deliver the printed final rockets to NFT holders. This stress testing will help to ensure that the marketplace will have full end to end testing of our assumptions and designs, where lessons can be applied in code to the finished marketplace. We will provide updates on the Incentivized Test Net at the January monthly report.
