[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

The Adosia team will design, build, and deploy a new cloud based Spaceprinter into the Adosia Marketplace. The minimum viable product for the marketplace was funded through Catalyst Fund 8. This improvement will provide a less complex onramp for manufacturers who participate in production for the marketplace.

The following features will be added to the core of the marketplace functionality:

Cloud printer (SpacePrinter Lite, a cloud based SpacePrinter). This module will allow users who do not own the hardware for a Spaceprinter, or who lack the technical expertise to network a hardware device, to still participate in providing production to the Adosia Decentralized Marketplace. The Lite printer will handle all smart contract interactions and allow the user to manually update each physical step along the way.

About Adosia Decentralized Marketplace

Adosia's decentralized fulfillment network is essentially composed of numerous smart contracts, including contracts for the marketplace, the printing pool, quality assurance, NFT role minting, 3d printer and shipping and receiving.

The smart contract associated with the 3D printable NFT marketplace will house user-submitted 3D printable NFTs which contain one or more .stl files along with any designer royalties referenced in the NFT metadata. The user will interact with the marketplace smart contract, selecting all the NFTs they would like to have printed, which will then create a new "purchase order" NFT capable of traversing the decentralized Adosia 3D printer operator network. Once a user holds a purchase order NFT, upon paying an appropriate fee, they will be able to initiate a print job for that NFT with the Adosia network. Upon successful print job completion the printer operator fulfilling the print job will be paid the majority of Ada with the appropriate 3D designer(s) being paid designated royalties. The Adosia smart contract will also earn a small fee for the Adosia treasury, with all participants being incentivized early on with Adosia ADO tokens.

Current Implementation

All on-chain functionality will be provided by the printing pool, purchase order, and printer registration contracts. These contracts will allow a customer to get a purchase order and have a registered printer accept the job for printing. The printer registration process has already started with the Adosia ambassador program.

What To Expect

Users will be able to buy an NFT of a purchase order that will allow them to choose to print one of our special designs via a registered space printer. The printer will then ship the 3D object to the user who will receive the object and confirm its quality. At this point, the purchase order will be returned to the user and the printer will be paid ADA for their services. It is a simple product but it shows what is technically possible now. Blockchain and the tangible world will mesh together and this is just a stepping stone along that path.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

This solution will address the challenge through the key metric of increased quality of existing products & integrations through suggested improvements that are supported by customer feedback or increased usage by the community. Integrating these features will position Adosia for more rapid market penetration.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The primary risk in this deployment is finding the best balance of features for the lite version to ensure users can at least minimally function without dedicated hardware, but still encouraging users to upgrade to a hardware Spaceprinter for better results.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

The Adosia development team will design, build, and implement this new feature to the Adosia marketplace in a 4 month timeframe. This will be developed and deployed by the team, and will be monitored.

The Adosia team currently meets regularly six (6) times per week across various teams. We regularly track relevant action items, tasks, needs and progress and we adapt as necessary.

We keep target timelines and measure progress against those while regularly refactoring to account for unknown unknowns as they are revealed

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

Monthly Reports

The Team has met to review the impacts of making available a lite version of Spaceprinter that his hosted within the marketplace, rather than being hosted entirely on a network of Raspberry Pi and other small form factor PCs.

The benefits include reduced hardware requirements, and reduced technical requirements for 3D printer operators.

The risks include a more centralized front end where end users do not choose to run their own nodes. We feel that user education can help continue to drive adoption of the full nodes, and therefore it will be to our overall benefit to offer both options.

This process, and the resultant user journey is being documented in a short video presentation that will be released before the next monthly report. This video release will result in a completion of milestone 1 for this project.

The User Journey for Space Printer lite was completed this month. This is the completion of milestone 1 for our project. To complete this milestone we created and delivered a Presentation with diagrams and a Video released on YouTube. The team has continued integrating the new design elements into our Figma design documents, and coding is underway on the marketplace in our development environments. We are on track to complete Milestone 2 in January, The UI/UX Design elements for Space Printer Lite.
