We will organize interactive workshops with an existing student blockchain community to incentivize them to participate in the next funds. We will help them to make proposals in the next funds.

Problem:

There is a lack of knowledge and engagement around Catalyst from students that know web 3. There is a big community that could participate in the next funds but don’t know the existence of Catalyst.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

We want to educate students that are already aware of the blockchain world about Catalyst, to make them participate in the next funds.

To do so, we will do multiple workshops in different French cities. We plan to do it first in Paris, Lyon and Grenoble. In these workshops, we will explain what Catalyst is, give our testimony about our experiences of Catalyst, and organize a little challenge that will be a simulation of what could be a participation to Catalyst. This little simulation would be a 3 hour challenge with 3 different challenge that each team could choose, and they'd have to make a proposal for it. The winning team will win 200 ADA per participant, to incentivize them to open a Cardano wallet and make their first steps in this ecosystem.

This will allow these students to understand Catalyst, and have an idea of what is participating in it in an interactive way. Therefore, we will be able to know who is really involved and pleased by Catalyst, and shape a good team for the next funds.

To finish, we will accompany the people that will be wanting to participate to guide them during their experiences with Catalyst, and help them to be funded.

[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

Our solution fits the challenge perfectly, as it’s allowing people that are already qualified to participate in Catalyst. In the community in which we want to intervene, there are people that have knowledge on the tech side of blockchain, on digital laws (MiCa for instance), on marketing…

Bringing them to be participants of the next funds could be a very good asset for Catalyst, and help them to have their first experience in the web 3 world. The Cardano ecosystem will then be able to host the first experience of talented persons, which could make them work on Cardano later in their career.

[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

We will measure the success of this project thanks to the number of participants in our workshops. We’ll also use as a metric the number of people that we accompany projects in the next funds, as well as the number of schools represented in our team.

Our goal is also to bring different talents to Catalyst, so one of our metrics will be the diversity of the domains of these people. Finally, the fact that any one of these people start a project on the Cardano blockchain would definitely be a big win for us.

[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

We want to share the results and the ongoing of our workshops and interactive experience with this community, as well as explaining and documenting the journey of their participation in the next funds.

Sharing plans, drafts of proposals, moments of co-work and results of projects will be our way to show the success of our educational mission. We will document our journey with photos, communication after the events, video recap of the 3 events when all these will be finished.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

We are 3 dedicated people to this project. We all have a good experience in the blockchain world. Moreover, Benjamin already has an informational Youtube channel explaining Catalyst. Liâm is also writing a newsletter to educate people about blockchain technology and use cases.

The organization Kryptosphere has easy access to material to organize the workshops and the challenges. They also have a really active student community that has for interest the blockchain world, which avoids the problem of finding relevant people to participate in our challenges.

We already had a call with the Head of Partnership France of Kryptosphere. This call was pretty encouraging, and we already started to have contact with a few people from the city entities to be more precise on the organization of these events. We have a great hope for these contacts to be successful.

For accountability, it will be easy to deliver accurate information, as the data will be directly accessible. The number of participants, the number of people interested in participation in the next funds, the numbers of schools represented in our workshops… All these will be accessible right after the workshops.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The main goal of the project is to reach a community of students that are already interested in Blockchain and that are already integrated in some projects.

Kryptosphère being a community of students only and that are doing several Blockchain related projects, we think this would be a perfect option to fulfill our project’s objective.

We already had a call with a member of the partnership pole of Kryptosphère and he was pretty interested in our project.

We think our approach is feasible as the call has been a success and we already have experience in doing this type of event.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

Month 1-2 :

  • Establishing the collaboration with the different city entities of Kryptosphere
  • Establishing the plans of the exact running of these events
  • Creation of the presentation and the challenges for the different cities

Month 3-4 :

  • Finding collaborations to have a comfortable event
  • Create the marketing campaigns and contents
  • Make some advertising and communication about these events

Month 5-6

  • Holding the events in the different cities
  • Make communication about the good running of these events through the reports
  • Collecting feedbacks from the participants

Month 7-9 :

  • Creating a community of participants that want to be involved in the next Funds

  • Animating this community and explaining more how we’ve worked for Catalyst

  • Accompany them for them to be funded in the next Fund

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.

The deliverables of our projects will be defined by the communication about how the different events went, how many people were present, the feedback from the participants…

We are expecting at least 20 people in each city to participate in our workshops.

We are expecting at least one group of persons from each city to participate in the next fund.

The realization of all the goals would be a good output and a definition of success in our opinion.

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Marketing management and communication creation for before and after the different events (video editing, ads creation, photo editing…) → 45 hours x 115 ADA = 5175 ADA

Organization of the event → 45 hours x 115 ADA = 5175 ADA

Preparation of the presentation and the content of the workshop → 9 hours x 115 ADA = 1035 ADA

Animation of the Workshop → 36 hours x 115 ADA = 4140 ADA

Management of the community and follow up of the projects with the interested team of participants → 45 hours x 115 ADA = 5175 ADA

Food and goodies for the events → 1200 ADA

Transport → 1 two-way travel by train = 450 x 2 persons x 3 events → 2700 ADA

Housing → 2 nights for 2 persons = 570 ADA x 3 events → 1700 ADA

Reward for the winner of the challenges → 200 ADA x 3 persons x 3 workshops = 1800 ADA

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Liâm Bodin is a 19 years-old student in the University of Geneva, passionate by use cases of blockchain technology.

Liam has a Twitter account and a newly launched newsletter dedicated to Blockchain and has participated in several workshops or events related to Blockchain (i.e : Cardano summit in Lausanne).

His role : will analyze and summarize the pools. He will also manage the work of the external developer, helping this person to adapt the website to the vision we had as a “dynamic and understandable” website.

Benjamin is a young student that is really interested in Blockchain, and that already participated in previous funds.

In fund 8 helped to do the marketing for an art project

Got 3 funded proposals on fund 9 based on the education of students about Blockchain, and especially, Cardano and Catalyst.

Here is a link to the closing report and closing video of the proposals.

Both of them have been to the Cardano summit that was held in Lausanne, and had the opportunity to learn a lot and meet some amazing people.

Pier-François is a student on an internship in Real Estate Private Equity. In business school, he had the opportunity to be president of a student marketing consultancy. His experience and contacts within the French student community will be very useful.

Passionate about blockchain and convinced that Cardano is the blockchain of the future, he also proposes another project in "DAOs <3 Cardano", here's the link:

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The budget represents well the needed time to organize this kind of partnership, as well as the resources needed to be able to hold it comfortably. As the proposers are not all based in the same cities, and the expected number of participants is too big to manage for only one person, we will need to travel to attend the events. This needs costs, but it is necessary in our opinion to have enough speakers from our team to hold the event and manage it perfectly.

The fact that the participants to our workshops will already be involved in the blockchain ecosystem is a huge plus-value. Bringing these people to the Cardano community is a big goal for us, and that’s why we will take a lot of time to do the needed work.
