Solution

Development of a carbon emission model for Cardano and Milkomeda C1. a smart contract that support carbon credit tokens from Moss.earth, the emissions of the ecosystem can be made carbon neutral

Problem:

Blockchain projects are known by not being eco friendly. Cardano is a PoS that manages energy much better than Bitcoin and other PoW solutions but it is not zero.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

The solution consists in the creation of a Dapp that estimate the carbon emissions by Cardano and Milkomeda C1. Also it's able to burn Moss token to offset its environmental impact per month and making it carbon emission neutral.

This proposal also contemplates the adding of the moss tokens to the Cardano ecosystem through the Milkomeda bridge and partners.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

There are multiple tokens with different utilities. This proposal work in collaboration with the team of moss earth to bring carbon credit tokens to the Cardano blockchain and making it emission neutral. It will also allow dapp on Cardano to offset their own carbon emissions.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

There is not particular risk with this project. We are already getting support from the moss earth team.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

  • Development of the smart contract and model to measure carbon emissions in Cardano and Milkomeda C1

  • Implementation of an model upgrading mechanisms and Oracle integration

  • MVP, QA and testing.

  • Audit

  • Addressing audit

  • Deployment

  • Moss token bridge integration and liquidity management

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

  • 40% Development, Deployment and Bridge Coordination

  • 20% Audit

  • 20% Liquidity for Carbon Credit for Cardano and C1

  • 15% Management

  • 5% Catalyst Project Management

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

Team members:

  • Tech Lead (Sebastien Guillemot)

  • Project Manager (Nicolas Di Prima)

  • Senior Solidity Developer

  • Senior QA

  • (External) Auditors

  • Design (Rob Licau)

  • Frontend Development

  • Project Coordinator

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

It is possible that we could come back for further funding but this would be to "refill" the smart contract with more carbon credits but it's not expected to be for further development.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

The different phases of the project are:

  • Development of the smart contract and model to measure carbon emissions in Cardano and Milkomeda C1

  • Implementation of an model upgrading mechanisms and Oracle integration

  • MVP, QA and testing.

  • Audit

  • Addressing audit

  • Deployment

  • Moss token bridge integration and liquidity management

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

Making the Cardano blockchain carbon emission neutral for as long as there is funding for the purchase of carbon credit from Moss.earth

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.
