The Catalyst Swarm is an Organizme of highly engaged and dedicated Catalyst Community Members. By organizing recurring Community Events, Sessions and Workshops we provide an environment for the Community to meet and to connect with each other, to share ideas and to build powerful and impactful collaborations and projects to positively impact the Cardano ecosystem.

Our success is measured by the success of others.

Based on this Spirit, Swarm always supported new emerging Community Projects on their journey.

Strong Collaborations and a close contact between teams became an emerging standard and allows us to enable each other's experience and resources for an impactful benefit of all.

In a Nutshell - What we do:

• Organizing Participative and interactive Community Events, Workshops,Sessions, Open Spaces
• Onboarding a bunch of People into the Ecosystem in a nice and smooth way
• Taking Care for Onboarded Folks and supporting them in their Ideas and Projects
• Duplicating our self and adapt our formats to local communities
• Building a pretty tasty Cardano Ecosystem Experience for Devs, SPOs, Doers and Lurkers.. in currently 7 languages

By providing constantly strives to the Cardano & Catalyst Community, we build and maintain crucial community infrastructure and proactively participate in the building process of the Catalyst/Cardno Ecosystem

Main Challenges on our way would be caused by missing Funds to maintain our exploration. With the growing Swarm Pool, we try to build up a permanent income, but the State Pool rewards definitely are not enough to pay for all services and a lack of financial resources would definitely slow down the Swarm’s ability to reward crucial contributions.

But hey, It's almost a year now that Swarm does his stuff.. with Fund 6, we received our first rewards in November 2021 after months and months of volunteering and paying by our own for the tools and services we need, to support the community.

Well, what do you expect us to write here.. some KPIs and OKRs, Milestones and a roadmap ? Well what we can tell you is that we are quite convinced that after more than almost a year of volunteer based but successful services to the community we won't stop. We will move on to provide our services… for a long long time. We will move forward to engage full time in the community

The Catalyst Swarm explores and maintains crucial community infrastructure to offer our Community a great Experience, participation and collaboration within the broader Cardano Ecosystem

This Proposal covers the contribution and engagement besides organizing and hosting Community Events. The Events are proposed separately as they are runned by different teams, however we want to list them as it matters to present the overall picture of the Catalyst Swarm

Community Events, Centers of Gravity.

Swarm Sessions:

The Sessions where it all started. Each Saturday we open an open Zoom Call and invite the Community to speak about the latest happenings and relevant topics to project Catalyst, Cardano and the impact of Blockchain at generell. Also a place where constant innovation takes place and where the Community experiments on decentralized governance

The After Town Halls:

In Collaboration with the Community and IOG, the Catalyst Swarm organize and hosts the weekly After Town Hall where the community hosts a various amount of breakout rooms to present projects, to host and visit workshops and to find the right partners for their Projects

Challenge Fest

Once each funding round, The Catalyst Swarm Organizes and Hosts in direct Collaboration with the Challenge Teams the Challenge Fest where proposers can get in touch with their Challenges and Challenge Teams. This Event helps Challenge Teams, Proposers and voters to fully understand the Challenges and how potential solutions could look like.

Idea Fest

Once each Funding Round, Idea Fest takes place. This Event is scheduled over a whole weekend where Proposer come and present their finalized Proposals and Projects to the Community. A place to find collaborators and partners, a place to meet the teams behind projects and proposals and a place to showcase your ideas to the Community

The Catalyst Swarm, Center of Gravity idea is based to focus on three main topics. Communication, Coordination and Collaboration.

By taking care that each of these three points have an environment to increase and flourish its impact, we accelerate the emergence of strong collaborative Projects. In the best case, people and ideas meet and merge, resulting then into own independent projects such as seen with the emergence of the Catalyst School, the Eastern Town Hall and the LATAM Town Hall which started from a small idea and became examples par excellence for an impact which is able to multiply and accelerates itself and further emerge into autocatalytic environments…. from bottom up without the need for an central entity

However, Next to our Events, Sessions and workshops there are many tasks which need to be done on a daily and weekly basis. Many of those tasks are not directly linked to the events but require constant engagement. The Catalyst Swarm identifies highly engaged community contributors

To stay in constant contact with the community requires a lot of time and commitment but provides a lot of value to the community. To provide fast and direct communications allows the community to act in an environment where all kinds of questions and requests are taken seriously. We are always responsive to our community which always allows us to also act as an human sensor array, identifying problems early and on the ground.

We keep the Community up to date for relevant happenings and events within the larger community and we take care to announce relevant Catalyst happenings to the Community.

We are there for our community, and this only works when being present all the Time.

Catalyst Swarm - Documentation and Website

Another part of our activity are the services needed to maintain the documentation of the Catalyst Swarm via github and gitbook. As the Swarm tracks his engagement via github & gitbook, we have another workside which requires a constant engagement. The documentation of the Catalyst Swarm is a crucial part of our evolution as we are able to conserve our history and progress as well as our failures and challenges.

To maintain the Catalystswarm.com Website requires attention, time and from time to time some extra love when updating the content and the design.

Catalyst Swarm - The Networking

One of the most beautiful parts of the Swarm is definitely to build and maintain a whole environment of human based relations and ideas. What really gives Swarm its beauty is the fact that we communicate, coordinate and collaborate with various individuals, groups and projects within the ecosystem. What is Swarm other than the idea of Impactful collaborations.

Catalyst School, Eastern Town Hall, WADA, Gimbalabs or QA DAO are some of the projects we feel really close to and do whatever we can to support them on their journey. Newcomers often reach out to us, asking for guidance and orientation. By being well connected within the community we are able to forward people directly there where they can use their potential and transform those into real impact..

Catalyst Swarm - The Incubator ?

Catalyst School & Eastern Town Hall are nice examples of how Swarm actually produces real value. At first there are just some people meeting each other, recognizing alignment in their visions and starting to build relation and trust. Out of this trust powerful collaborations take place and whole projects emerge out of this process. The greatest reward is to see those projects become independent and stable on their own.

Well, as you can imagine we have a bunch of stuff to coordinate and manage all the things and stuff between, git, website , communications, events, sessions, collaborations and whatnot.

To keep the whole structure running and organized requires again a nice bucket of time every day and week which we would like to see rewarded when the community agrees on the value of these engagements

And here we come to the really tasty part…

Out of all these activities and operations, the Swarm has a kinda very nice picture about the ecosystem and the community. This allows us to sensor and identify gaps and lacks and to initiate together with the Community solutions to fill those gaps to come up with solutions and to be a very active co creator of our environment

As we seriously starts to experiment with the Swarm Treasury, an professional and neutral accounting service is required to ensure and fully transparent oversight on the Swarm Treasuries in and out puts

Tools and Services

As we support many Projects in their Emergence, we want to offer support by taking charge of first tools and services which have to be paid from young teams which often do not have a clear structure to easily handle shared accounts and tools. Currently we support Projects like the Catalyst School with Zoom licences on the Swarm Zoom Enterprise Account and we cover together with the Catalyst School the zoom costs for the LATAM Town Hall Team. We want to improve our service and want to offer Kick Starter sets to new projects, directly usable when needed.

PR & Marketing

To spread the word about our projects and activities, we have a direct need to invest in effective marketing campaigns to ensure a wider participation and awareness of our actions to the Community
