Solution

This proposal generates Smart Contract (SC) framework of records for Clinical Trials and Health Research. A no-code model based on Plutus for generates SC’s . All Clinical Trial data is documented.

Problem:

The development of standards-based Smart Contracts for Clinical Trials. The Plutus Smart Contracts based in the Cardano model has yet to formally provide the standards required for such approaches.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

BioDao proposes to develop a standard model framework of Smart Contracts (IWSC) for Clinical trial health research groups. This will be done in concert with a specific health community as a structured model with specific standards in the design. These standards include the following elements;

  1. Functional program framed in Plutus
  2. Specific Proof of Stake model for verification
  3. Rights of Revocation of the contract
  4. Tracking term
  5. Enforcement agency for contracts associated with each application
  6. Approval Record from the agencies with oversight (FDA, EMA NICE)
  7. Summary of conclusions available for participants.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

The proposal solution is submitted under the developer Ecosystem framework for F9. It is designed to extend the effective application of the Cardano network to an underserved population with global utility. Innovators in the health arena will be able to generate appropriate Smart Contract functions using a Marlowe like application tool specifically applied to individuals participating in Clinical trials and Research.

This proposal falls within the scope of the challenge brief because it sets up and lays out a system whereby multiple stakeholders are benefitted:

  1. Creates a real time verifiable system by which any clinical trial project can be instantly understood and evaluated in terms of how it is performed and what it has accomplished
  2. Gets real time assessment on on the progress of clinical trials or research projects
  3. Facilitates measurement of progress within trials, as pertains to individuals. And tracks the generation of rewards accordingly.
  4. Ensures safeguarding of community assets by the tool.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The proposal relies on the application of the Plutus Application Backend which has only recently been developed. As a determinant of possible workarounds should the PAB not fully offer all the use of the tool we have some raw script we could apply for functions.

We also will have to add to our team of engineering pioneers and developers which may be a challenge. Our practice is to work with a three-tiered model of engineering and development and we rely heavily on our ability to recruit and train new developers and engineers in the Plutus application development framework.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Possibly. Initial development of these tools are likely to invite suggestions for further elements to be developed.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

BioDao projects function with the following auditable parameters;

  • Weekly Summary repots of Project Deliverables

  • Monthly Review of all parts of the development and changes associated with development

  • Testing Reports weekly

  • Core and extended Features review at intervals of 25% , 50%, 75% and 100% completion.

  • Functioning Smart Contract Model for Clinical Trials

    [AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

Success will be the ability to release a Web App permitting users to construct their own health Smart Contracts and add them to their wallets for execution.

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

No
