Detailed Plan

THE MISSION

As a community-driven initiative that aims to grow Cardano in Latin America, The LATAM Townhall will serve as the largest entry point where all Cardano communities of Latin America meet together to share experiences, encourage participation, connect each other and promote adoption. This is the place where language and cultural barriers are removed, where prejudices are torn apart, and where opportunities are equal to everyone.

With the encouragement and support of Catalyst Swarm and Eastern Town Hall, this proposal is also a CALL for purpose driven people in LATAM to join the MOVEMENT and is part of a 4 pillars CLUSTER driven by the LATAM Catalyst Community, that includes:

DALE: <https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/dtd/DALE/381093-48088>

LATAM Catalyst School: <https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/dtd/The-Catalyst-School-LATAM/383090-48088>

LATAM Cardano Ambassadors: <https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Cardano-Ambassadors-Latin-America/380977-48088>

THE PLAN

The central activity is the organization and hosting of recurring sessions in our own languages, initially in Spanish and Portuguese, where people can present, share and discuss ideas and projects. Affinity groups will be provided with break-out rooms that they can use in freedom and with the opportunity to be exposed to a broader audience.

Some characteristics of those summits will be:

 • Weekly moderated Zoom events with multiple content
 • Well established community moderators who facilitate and guarantee high quality conversations
 • Fostering the reunion of as many local communities as possible, being able to speak their own language and express their own culture
 • Depending on the topic, visual support by the use of Miro boards to help facilitate an engaged and lean discussion

All activities will be document and tracked to build trust and transparency

Additionally, the LATAM Town Hall will provide:

THE IMPACT

Latin America is a fertile region for mass adoption and create value based on Cardano. It has talented and passionate people that with the proper tools and opportunities will create its own path and ways to succeed; failure is an option but not a surrender.

By providing a meeting point where people can express in its own languages and cultures we expect:

 • to to onboard a large population of people that otherwise are lost in translation
 • to retain people by localized means of engagement
 • to listen to the community and gather data and opinions from an unbiased perspective
 • to welcome participants from other blockchain communities by providing openness and gratitude
 • to create a center of gravity that would take an important role in the whole Cardano and Catalyst Community
 • to reach out to underrepresented groups,, exploring ways to lower entry barriers and offer continuous support and advice
 • to make Cardano community the best choice for Latin Americans looking to participate in decentralized projects

THE METRICS

 • The number of participants that join the weekly sessions
 • The number visits the youtube channel receive
 • The amount of participation and engagement in dedicated social media
 • The number of break-out rooms and diversity of topics presented

THE BUDGET

This proposal includes a budget for the first SIX MONTHS that will cover 24 LATAM Town Halls each week from march 2022 to August 2022 and related activities.

Each event is calculated a a rate of $812 covering following activities:

 • Reaching out to ideas and hosts, onboard hosts
 • Organize each event
 • Market and communicate the event
 • Document event activities for transparency
 • Moderate and host the event
 • Infrastructure costs
 • Social Media platform management and moderation

Requested funds in USD: $19.488 (24 x $812)

AUDITABILITY

We are committed to transparency internally and with the community. We will document and keep track of all activities and expenses in a github/gitbook repository.

Even though the proposal aimed at delivering the TH, we are over exceeding that goal with many contributions, such as actively forming new alliances, articulations, fostering Cardano's presence in the LATAM world (Twitter spaces, interviews, publications, etc.) And all these efforts are not only reaching the LATAM region, but other regions in the world interested in LATAM, as well as many Spanish and Portuguese speakers all over the world.

Even though the proposal aimed at delivering just the TH, we are over exceeding that goal with many contributions, such as actively forming new alliances, articulations, fostering Cardano's presence in the LATAM world (Twitter spaces, interviews, publications, etc.) And all these efforts are not only reaching the LATAM region, but other regions in the world interested in LATAM, as well as many Spanish and Portuguese speakers all over the world. We have produced two IdeaFests (F8 and F9) and now we are Launching the LATAM FUNd Fest where we aim to reach out to external community and bring them to Catalyst and Cardano.
