Background
Surf Watch is an already established app, having been helping users forecast the surf, track their waves, sessions and health data for over 6 years globally.
Surf Watch is an iOS and WatchOS based app that uses GPS and other watch technology to track surfers' waves, sessions and health data globally.
With 5,000 unique monthly active users and an identity base of > 30,000, the community is active and engaged.
Surf Watch is a great candidate / use case for real-world or health-tech integration to web-3 and Cardano. Specifically being able to award and gamify real-world activity utilising Cardano NFTs is as ground-breaking as it is exciting.
Solution
Implement a hosted service layer built to specifically support established apps and app developers to integrate an out of the box loyalty and rewards system based upon Cardano and Cardano NFTs. This would fundamentally require:
- In app wallet (or work with existing mobile wallets for better wallet connect)
- Send and Receive tokens
- Award / Mint NFTs
- Buy / Sell NFTs
- Display NFTs
Use Surf Watch as a live use case, not only validating the solution but onboarding a large and growing base of new users to the Cardano ecosystem.
How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?
This proposal addresses the challenge in the following key area:
- Onboard new active users to Cardano
- Contribute to tooling that will help apps and developers globally to access and integrate Cardano in a commercially viable manner by way of developer tooling and services
- Productise Cardano functionality for wide-scale and business adoption into consumable units.
How do you intend to measure the success of your project?
The success of the project will be measured by:
- Successful implementation of rewards and loyalty module utilising Cardano.
- 50% of users 'opt in' and activate new wallets
