[IMPACT]
Currently Cardano doesn't have any wallet that is well suited for multisig usage. This is problematic for enterprise usage and DAO usage of Cardano (where multisigs are often a requirement)
We can solve this problem by deploying Gnosis Safe (a multisig wallet) to Milkomeda (which uses ADA as the base asset) as it is open source with an MIT license. However, extra work needs to be done to modify the UI and functionality for Milkomeda
We will deploy an instance of Gnosis Safe with any changes required in the UI to provide a smooth multisig experience for Cardano users
- Gnosis Safe codebase, although open source, is a large codebase. Working with any large codebase is difficult, but we're confident our team of skilled engineers can make sense of it as we have a lot of experience contributing to open source projects
- Gnosis Safe is introducing a SAFE token and a safeDAO which can't be ported to Milkomeda. This kind of functionality makes it harder to run forks as it requires making sure that this kind of feature intended for the Ethereum mainnet does not break when deployed on Milkomeda
[FEASIBILITY]
We plan to start work on this in Q2 2022 and deploy in Q3 2022
- 25K on the development required to create and maintain the Milkomeda deployment
- 5K for any server costs associated with the deployment
dcSpark is one of the core contributors to Milkomeda and so our team has multiple developers familiar with Solidity to understand the Gnosis Safe contracts. dcSpark in general also have many fullstack developers capable of making any changes to the UI layer
[AUDITABILITY]
Progress will be measured by how far we are towards deploying Gnosis Safe to Milkomeda correctly
User adoption of multisig through Milkomeda using the Gnosis Safe deployment
