创建一个基于NFT的知识产权模型,该模型将整合到WadaDAO维护Cardano区块链上的文化。

Problem:

土著社区无法获得知识产权的数字服务,将他们排除在公平和法律代表之外。

Detailed Plan

This is going to be a journey wherein we will bring developers, entrepreneurs, and community members together to create a template for group intellectual property (IP) ownership rights (group identity and ownership). This will be the initial step towards a solution to revive and return old stolen artifacts and cultural/artistic techniques. We will work to provide a verifiable certification (NFT) on the Cardano blockchain to put ownership and any residual benefits back in the hands of the original owners.

Purpose of MVP DAO:

Specific examples of use cases for these NFTs -> DAO:

  • Cultural/artistic Intellectual Property: We will work with local communities to document and in a sense "copy-right" certain traditions such as Kente cloth fabric weaving patterns and design practices such that others can be held accountable for stealing or appropriating these cultural practices for a profit. We will transform these design templates into NFTs on the Cardano blockchain in such a way that designers like Louis Vitton will have a concrete way to legally and fairly lease the rights to that pattern and use it on their products. This will allow for profits made by copying a cultural tradition or artistic style to find their way back to the originating artists or communities.
  • Create NFT certifications linked to ancient artifacts being held in museums. This is an essential starting point in the process towards redistributing profit made on these artifacts to the originating communities. This will create a mechanism in which museums can lease the objects in a verifiable way. This will also mean that originating communities can finally benefit from the extortion of their history. Any financial profit from such transactions will go into a treasury which will be allocated to affected parties (group identity solution) and will have a governance component on redistribution of funds. One thought on how such funds could be allocated would be paying legal fees towards recuperating these stolen artifacts, however this will be left to be decided upon by the affected/originating communities. Eventually our goal is to return these artifacts to their originating countries if appropriate/desired. These NFTs will be given a life of their own that will allow transparency on the journey of each physical artifact on its way back home.

These NFTs will have a lifespan during which they are able to be leased (for example to museum owners), and we plan to also explore creating virtual museums that will make this history more accessible.

We will be addressing these central questions as a starting point in creating Wada's Preserving Culture DAO (name pending):

  • Identity: How do we recognize different identities including group identity and artifact identity, and what ownership characteristics are associated with these various identities?
  • Governance model: We need to keep all players accountable to the community, and have a platform for decisions on allocating treasury funds.
  • Incentivize to network players: How do we motivate people who will be adding value to this process, story-tellers, artists who are helping to resurrect ancient artifacts.
  • Tokenomics: Will help us to concretize how value is shared with the IP "owners" or in some cases community of owners.
  • Reputation system: How do we ensure historical accuracy in this process, and authenticity of artifacts

Feasibility:

Reference (Past Successes):

Wada has been funded for phase 1 of this endeavor in which we have conducted research with (https://cardano.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Cardano-Preserving-Culture/366816-48088) In addition Wada has build a track record of successful monthly meet-ups across our hubs, engaging the community and spreading awareness and introductory education on Cardano, Project Catalyst, and Blockchain technology as a whole. We have already established active hubs in: Ivory Coast (French), Ghana (English), Nigeria (English), Cameroon (French & English) and Democratic Republic of Congo (French) that have been participating in these programs, and that will also be active in pushing this initiative forward and expanding our reach to include diverse representation for these important subjects.

Core Team & Roles:

  • Manfo: Cameroon Team Co-Lead, Senior software architect & developer, 12+ year of experience programming, 3+ years in functional programming paradigm (F#, Haskell, Elm), Multilingual (French, English, Italian, Ngiembo)
  • Nkalla: Senior software architect & developer, 12+ year of experience programming, 3+ years in functional programming paradigm (Haskell), Mathematics teacher (Education Systems Engineering), Multilingual (French, Italian, English, Mbo)
  • Arcel: Senior Software developer in Closure 7 + years experience, Project manager, Multilingual (French, English)
  • Megan: Cameroon Team Co-Lead, Central Africa Coordination Lead, Wada core team member (Education and Event Lead), Math & Physics teacher, bilingual (French & English)
  • Wada Devs

Budget: $18 000

  • Team Costs: $2 000
  • Subject Matter Expert Motivations: $2 000
  • Travel Cost & Logistics: $9 000
  • Marketing: $1 000
  • Developer Motivations: $4 000

Auditability:

What success looks like:

MVP DAO that integrates identity solution, governance, tokenomics, and reputation system that will provide a framework to track intellectual property and cultural artifacts for local community groups.

Key Metrics:

  • Number of meet-ups/events (goal is to have bi-weekly meetings/events)
  • Number of event attendees
  • Research reports written
  • Updated roadmap for DAO based on feedback
  • Community engagement: track discord activity (Follow-up questions and engagement from attendees)
  • Number of attendees onboarded into WADA membership and Cardano platform
  • MVP DAO created

Specific roadmap goals:

  • 3 months - engaged subject matter experts into project
  • 6 months - developed roadmap for creating MVP DAO
  • 12 months - MVP DAO complete

Risk Management:

Main risk –we do not want to build this in a rush and have to overlook or ignore the local African context, we will mitigate this risk by including cultural experts early on and including them in all levels of the project.
