Solution

Create a tool which allows projects to export wallet data as a structured, customizable reports which make sense for Accounting and can be modified to answer specific accounting related questions.

Problem

Many projects create their own wallet(s) and mint NFTs. And similar non-NFT stuff.

No easy way to export this data in a way that makes sense to Accounting - for example to determine initial asset cost.

Accounting/reporting for projects built by incorporated entities

Please describe your proposed solution.

As an incorporated entity building a Cardano based game OctoWars which actively uses NFTs and other blockchain constructs (where usage incurs fees) we are struggling to do proper reporting as required by our Accounting.

While most of the tools in crypto space are focused on profit/loss & taxes, exporting transactions, etc. - there are very few tools which are useful to incorporated entities running a Cardano based project.

We would like to cut down hours of work that goes into preparing data/reports for Accounting into minutes.

As boring as it sounds, we feel that this kind of tool would make life easier to the many Cardano based projects planning to incorporate or incorporated entities planning to start a Cardano based project.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community.

For projects building on Cardano, we hope the output(s) from this proposal will reduce bureaucracy needed to run the project as an incorporated entity.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

We, as a company, primarily build digital products for clients.

It is our daily activity to estimate and deliver products within a budget.

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Data availability

Initial code to extract the relevant data and store in a specific format to make sure the required information is easily accessible (in code).

>Reporting

Add functionality to export full (or selected) data into PDFs and CSV/XLSs for end users (Accounting)

>Prototype & Feedback

Document how to use the prototype to make it easy for potential users to test and validate with their Accounting.

Collect feedback to see what kind of functionality other projects require and what is missing for them to use it on the daily basis.

>The project will be published as open-source with appropriate license.

Based on the collected feedback the project would be either marked as "good enough" or we would apply to "Cardano Use Cases: Solution" in the next Fund.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Total budget will be dedicated to developer hours.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

There is a direct reduction of time invested in bureaucracy which is more valuable anywhere else in a Cardano based project.
