[SOLUTION] Please describe your proposed solution.

Context.

A few months ago I had the opportunity to host a CIP-1694 workshop for cardano gobernance purpose. This workshop was carry on at a University in Mexico, this thanks I´m graduated from this University and career director is an enthusiast of blockchain tecnology.

Good and bad at the same time was students have just a little blockchain knowledge and no awareness about Cardano, it is good because although I had to take more time to explain these fundamental concepts, the students showed great interest in these topics, besides the university opened the possibility to offer courses to deepen in these topics.

Problem.

There is a gap in blockchain knowledge and Cardano ecosystem awareness, so this solution will try to bridge this gap and to train students with the skills to be able to integrate into the cardano ecosystem.

Solution.

We will establish 3 partnerships with Universities in Mexico and 1 partnership with a University in Colombia, who will not only open the doors for an introductory conference with more than 100 students each one, but are committed to enrolling 25 students each to take this 40-hour online & in-person bootcamp.

Then the proposed solution includes:

  • 4 partnerships with Universities for future collaboration.

  • 4 conferences to talk about Cardano ecosystem and fundamentals (100 attendees per conference).

  • 3 online bootcamps & 1 in-person bootcamp, on blockchain fundamentals, development tools, NFTs, use cases, smart contracts, governance (25 students per course).

  • The generation of an on-demand course as a result of the classes recorded during the courses, the course will be designed on the Andamio platform .

Conferences at Universities.

These conferences are intended to serve as a gateway to the bootcamp but also to raise awareness about the cardano blockchain.

Which universities will participate?

  1. Universidad Tecnologica de Tlaxcala (Mexico) https://www.uttlaxcala.edu.mx/
  2. Universidad Autonoma de tlaxcala (Mexico) https://uatx.mx/
  3. Tecnologico nacional de mexico (Mexico) https://www.apizaco.tecnm.mx/
  4. Institucion universitaria digital de antoquia (Colombia) https://www.iudigital.edu.co/

How long is this conference intended to last? 3 hours maximum.

Who will be the speakers?

We are looking for 3 speakers in each conference, for the case of Mexico the speakers would be:

  1. Cristian Rojas. Proposer
  2. Cardano’s Ambassador
  3. Cardano’s Ambassador

For Colombia:

  1. Andamio Co-founder.
  2. University Professor of “Blockchain for Business” at CESA, Colombia
  3. Cristian Rojas Proposer

Expected attendance : 100 people per conference.

Note* Besides me, the other speakers are not part of the proposing team but have accepted to participate as speakers in the conferences.

Bootcamps.

3 hybrid bootcamps in Mexico (students at the university, instructors remotely) and 1 on-site bootcamp in Colombia.

How long will the bootcamp last?

The bootcamps, both hybrid and in-person, will be 3-week courses, 3 sessions each week for a total of 9 sessions and 40 total hours of theoretical and practical classes.

Who will be the instructors?

For both bootcamps we have two instructors:

  1. Andamio Co-founder.

What will be the bootcamp program?

[CAPABILITY & FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

I’m going to talk a little bit about who I am, I’m originally from Mexico, I’m in Cardano for a little more than two years, I got funding in project catalyst fund7 with the proposal called “Support small farmers in Latam”.

I was able to successfully delivered and completet the proposal, also in project catalysat I have participated as a reviewer in fund 8, 9 and in the last fund as a level 1 reviewer with a total of 80 proposals reviewed last fund.

As a member of the Latam Cardano Community, I have participated in educational content with Universities in Mexico.

  • I´m leading in Mexico the proposal funded in fund10 “Universities Onboarding to Cardano” from Latam Community.

  • I participated in the Cardano summit in mexico 2022.

  • Representing Cardano Latam Community in “Cardano Days“ , Guadalajara , Mexico.

This shows my involvement in the ecosystem in the previous two years, thanks to my participation doing onboarding in Universities and meetups in Mexico, I consider myself with the ability to do onboarding students of this Universities.

I participated in organizing two CIP-1694 workshops in Mexico, in the Pan-latam workshop in Uruguay and participating in the final workshop in Edinburgh.

[RESOURCES] Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Itzel Ramirez Sanchez - Leader in the alliance with the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala.

Erick Valadez Hernandez- Leader in the alliance with the Technological University of Tlaxcala.

Emmanuel Valadez Hernandez - Leader in the alliance with Tecnológico Nacional of Mexico and the Digital University Institution of Antioquia Colombia

Cristian Jair Rojas Velez - Project Manager

[BUDGET & COSTS] Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

Formal establishment of partnerships with universities.

  • Develop a detailed work plan: 4000 ADA
  • Conduct visits: 4000 ADA
  • Create and sign the alliance document: 4000 ADA

Creation of Content for Conferences and Course Development on Andamio Platform.

  • Develop comprehensive content for conferences and bootcamp: 15000 ADA
  • Deploy the course for the bootcamp: 14000 ADA

Execution of In-Person Conferences in Mexico.

  • Develop and finalize detailed plans for each conference, including agenda, speakers, and logistical arrangements.: 4000 ADA
  • Speakers honorariums & travel expenses: 12500 ADA
  • Organizers travel expenses : 9000 ADA

Execution of 3 Hybrid Bootcamps in Mexico.

  • Organize and conduct the hybrid bootcamps: 4000 ADA.
  • Deliver the bootcamp,Instructors rewards : 21000 ADA

Implementation of In-person Conference and Bootcamp at Universidad Digital de Antioquia, Colombia.

  • Develop a detailed plan and schedule for the in-person conference: 4000 ADA

  • Flights : 6500 ADA

  • Travel expenses & acommodation for 3 weeks: 15000 ADA

  • Marketing:8000 ADA

  • Reports: 9000 ada

  • Donations to Universities: 9000 ADA

  • Contingence fund: 14000 ADA

Note: The travel expenses include flights, accommodation, and daily expenses for the team and speakers during the on-site events.

To calculate the ADA price to be taken for the budget and its monthly volatility, I used the following formulas:

ADA price = the average price over the last 365 days = 0.32 USD

Monthly volatility = The standard deviation of that same sample (0.3137) multiplied by the square root of 30 (5.477) = 0.17 = 17%.

Then the required ADA will be =(157000 ADA ) * 1.17 = 184,000 ADA

[VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Starting with the costs of the bootcamp, creating this type of 40 hours can easily cost 8,000 USD

The rewards for the instructors seem very reasonable to me.

An important expense is the speakers who will come to Mexico for the conferences, but if we take into consideration that both speakers are ambassadors and recognized people within the cardano community, adding that there will be 3 conferences with a total of more than 300 attendees, The expense already seems short to me.

Taking into account, flights, accommodation for a week and giving 3 conferences, $2000 dollars for each speaker barely covers that without fees.

Another important expense is the trip to Colombia, a member of the team has just signed an agreement with that University in Colombia, also considering that a bootcamp instructor is from Colombia, doing it in person makes a lot of sense.

The expenses barely cover what is necessary for a 3-week stay, which is the duration of the in-person bootcamp.
