Cardano for Northern Ghana (CNG)

Please describe your proposed solution

INTRODUCTION

The "Cardano for Northern Ghana" is an initiative to introduce and promote cardano ecosystem and the principles of Project Catalyst that will take place at two (2) TV stations and two (2) Radio stations where cardano blockchain is either non-existent or not active. These series of events aims to familiarize participants with the concepts of blockchain technology, hone their abilities in blockchain entrepreneurship, and provide them with the means of funding to act as catalysts, enabling them to solve problems at wherever they find themselves and come up with innovative solutions. If any of the TV and Radio stations listed fail to operate or any inconvenience caused with them at the time of our interview, we shall change it, as there are over 30 Radio stations and about Seven (7) TV stations in the Northern Ghana. Some of these Radio stations include; Tolon Radio (102.7), Might Fm (90.5), Zaa Radio (99.3), Radio Justice 98.5) among others. And other TV stations include; Zaa TV, Saha TV, Might TV among others.

The project will take one day to be executed.

Topics: Introduction to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, cardano blockchain and Project catalyst.

INTRODUCTION TO CRYPTOCURRENCY AND BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY.

  • Since the majority of participants will be newbies in the cryptocurrency area, this will be accomplished by introducing them to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. This will give an understanding of the foundations of virtual currencies, the influence of the Satoshi community, and the possibilities and assets present in blockchain technology. Participants will also learn about the evolution of money, from barter to bitcoin, during this session. Along with learning how to download, install, and set up Yoroi wallets on mobile and web devices, participants will also receive instruction on sending and receiving ADA, staking ADA, and trading ADA on exchange platforms for other tokens and currencies.
  • Also, educating participants about the whitepaper written by the anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto group about the history of bitcoin and the blockchain movement. Other use cases of blockchain, including supply chain, operations, smart contracts, and web3, will be covered for participants to learn about. The Cardano blockchain will be covered in this episode, along with how users can create original solutions on it and take advantage of currently available solutions.

CARDANO BLOCKCHAIN AND PROJECT CATALYST.

  • In this workshop, participants will learn about Project Catalyst and gain an understanding of its goals, possibilities, and resources that they can utilize. Catalyst challenges, proposal assessments, challenge teams, creation of Cardano Ideascale accounts, proposal submission, governance, execution, and proposal reporting to the catalyst community will all be covered in this session. By the end of the day, participants will have a thorough understanding of cryptocurrencies, the Cardano blockchain, and project catalyst.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

The project will have positive impact on both participants and the wider cardano community and will address the challenge by;

  1. Enhancing mass adoption, communication and knowledge sharing in the cardano network which are explained below;
  2. TV shows - The project will involve and base on interviewing us on TV show which will be broadcasted or being live on both our social media handles that will initiate adoption.
  3. Radio presenting - The proposal will also ensure cardano adoption by mobilizing all minded individuals who have access to radio signals also to those who do not have access, sharing knowledge and benefiting from conversations we will be making. It will also onboard newbies/startups coming into the cardano ecosystem through listening to the interview on the radio and other media platforms we have created.
  4. Reaching out to over 1000+ individuals who views, listens, shares and comments.
  5. Broadens the cardano community as long-term growth.

Metrics:

This will involve;

  • having over 1000+ individuals learned and trained vertually about the cardano network.

  • almost the whole world to view and listen to our project interview about the cardano network.

  • showing people/individuals how to create Yoroi wallets using their mobile smart phones and other internet accessible devices.

  • creating social media platforms for viewers and listeners and to all those participating which includes facebook, whatsApp, telegram and YouTube to make easy interaction among them.

  • picking calls from some of the viewers and listeners who are out monitoring the program to answer questions that have asked about the cardano network.

  • The project catalysts community will receive information about each milestone that is covered up in time.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

I have recently been graduated from university for development studies(UDS) Nyankpala campus and have studied Agriculture and Food Economics.

I am also an entrepreneur and have the passion of skills development, education and attending meetups and events. I am an alumnus of the university for development studies who studied diploma in Agriculture technology in 2021.

I also have strong knowledge about cardano blockchain, cryptocurrency and project catalyst and have attended over 18 meetups which talks about cardano blockchain in Ghana. I am strong and conversant to manage project funds both in fiat (USD), (GHS) and in cryptocurrency(ADA).

I have also been in the cryptocurrency space for the past four years and also attended several meetups to learn about cryptocurrency and cardano blockchain. A community reviewer since Fund 9. I have strong skills in wallet creation, transactions and trading with Cardano ADA, and also volunteered at numerous blockchain conferences and has gained some leadership and organising skills. I am also a team member of https://t.me/CardanoGhanaOfficial. I was also a team member as a an Organizing Secretary for https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/64542 which was funded in fund 9, Upper West Regional Representative for https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/112617 in fund 11 and was also a Project Organizer for https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/121039 in fund 12.

It is good to convert some of the funds to stable coin(USDT) to avoid depletion of project funds due to cryptocurrency volatility. This will ensure an optimum use of resources for the success of the project. Below are some pictures of cardano events I have attended across Ghana.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

<u>COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 1</u>

Pay for the cost of two (2) hours interview = 1 hour=2,500ADA

2 hours = 2x2500ADA

= 5,000.00ADA

Incentives = 300.00ADA

Prepare flyers, banners, snacks, print t-shirts for team and presenter = 4 + 1 = 5x700

= 3,500.00ADA

Cost of transportation = 500.00ADA

Contingency = 453.75

TOTAL AMOUNT = 5,000 + 300 + 3,500 + 500 + 453.75=<u> 9,753.75ADA</u>

<u>COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 2</u>

Pay for the cost of two (2) hours interview = 1 hour=2800ADA

2 hours = 2x2800ADA

= 5,600.00ADA

Incentives = 300.00ADA

Prepare flyers, banners, snacks, print t-shirts for team and presenter = 4 + 1 = 5x700

= 3,500.00ADA

Cost of transportation = 600.00ADA

Contingency = 453.75

TOTAL AMOUNT = 5,600 + 300 + 3,500 + 600 + 453.75=<u> 10,453.75ADA</u>

<u>COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 3</u>

Pay for the cost of two (2) hours interview = 1 hour=1900.00ADA

2 hours = 2x1900.00ADA

=3,800.00ADA

Incentives = 300.00ADA

Prepare flyers, banners, snacks, print t-shirts for team and presenter = 4 + 1 = 5x700

= 3,500.00ADA

Cost of transportation = 500.00ADA

Contingency = 453.75

TOTAL AMOUNT = 3,800 + 300 + 3,500 + 500 + 453.75 =<u> 8,553.75ADA</u>

<u>COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 4</u>

Pay for the cost of two (2) hours interview = 1 hour=2300.00ADA

2 hours = 2x2300.00ADA

= 4,600.00ADA

Incentives = 300.00ADA

Prepare flyers, banners, snacks, print t-shirts for team and presenter = 4 + 1 = 5x700

= 3,500.00ADA

Cost of transportation = 500.00ADA

Contingency = 453.75ADA

TOTAL AMOUNT = 4,600 + 300 + 3,500 + 500 +453.75 = <u>9,353.75ADA</u>

Contingency of 5% = 5/100

= 1,815 ADA

1815/4 = 453.75ADA

Therefore, 453.75ADA is added to each of the four (4) milestones.

TOTAL BUDGET FOR PROJECT INCLUDING CONTINGENCY = 9753.75 + 10453.75 + 8553.75 + 9353.75

= <u>38,115.00ADA</u>

The reason for adding the contingency is to cover up unforeseen costs.

No depemdencies

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

There cannot be a project without resources. The cost items indicated in the aforementioned budget represent the cost for the entire project period, and I will highlight on key items below;

  • Payment for interviews: Before interview is made, payment will be done the same day of booking date and time. And every TV or Radio station has their own charge before any interview, that's why price varies in budget.
  • Printing of t-shirts, banners and flyers: T-shirts &amp; banners, especially Cardano brand t-shirts and banners make events attractive and the public to the community. It will inspire and help market the Cardano ecosystem better with such promotional materials.
  • Airdrops and incentives: airdrops and incentives are provided to inspire and motivate viewers and listeners and the team respectively for their time, efforts and active involvement in making Cardano grow. This is to ensure everyone gets rewarded in the Cardano ecosystem which is one aim of Cardano; making the world work for everyone.
  • Transportation: The project also requires travelling around the Region to the target radio and TV stations for interviews. There will also be meal expenses to support project implementation.
  • Media and photography: The project will hire a camera and video service to cover interviews which will help us in producing proof of achievement for the IOG and the entire Cardano community for transparency and tracking of success records.

The budget is stated in ADA and not in USD and hence leaves uncertainties for everyone in the community as the fall in the price of ADA could affect funding and vice versa. Hence, it is prudent to leverage Cardano's DJED or Tether's USDT or other stable coins to preserve funds and prevent the depletion of project funds. Again, local expenses are incurred in local fiat (Ghanaian Cedis), which are affected by inflation and hence, there is the need to be economically sound in purchases to ensure expenses are covered without any difficulties. It is important to also have a convenient savings account to keep exchange withdrawals for covering project expenses.

I am sure and strongly believe that, the budget will see an optimum use to serve the purpose of the project to achieve the its purpose and deliver successfully without any shortages or loss of funds.
