This proposal was approved and funded by the Cardano Community via Project F9: Challenge & Scouted for Students🎓 Catalyst funding round.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

About my school:

Grenoble Ecole de Management is one of the most influential business schools in France, it has a lot of International business students that can easily find an opportunity into blockchain technology. The students also have a lot of relations in the other French Business schools which can get the advertising in the universities easier.

Image File

As being an international bachelor student myself, I am aware of the lack of information that the students get about blockchain. I also find that Blockchains and Cardano specifically are amazing opportunities for students that will be the main actors of it in the future.

We are aiming to do a use case with the BIB (Bachelor in International Business) class, and we might then continue doing this for next funds in Grenoble School of Management or in other schools/Universities.

The BIB (Bachelor in International Business) is an 80 students promotion which are taught about the basics of business, as accounting, marketing, group projects…

I think that implementing Catalyst to this class could be awesome to give them an opportunity to express their ideas and to be part of what the future will be about in my opinion. Moreover, this will give them knowledge that they would have never been taught in a Business school.

The plan is divided in three parts :

  • Teaching :

  • Introducing the students on Cardano, the Catalyst project, explaining everything there is to know about the challenges, the funding, the proposals

  • The tournament :

  • Organize a tournament between the BIB students, where all of them have to find ideas concerning challenges of fund 10. The participants will have around 2 weeks to prepare the best idea they have.

  • They will then have to present their ideas. There will be 3 judges for the tournament, Yoram (funded proposer, part of Cardano4Climate), Raz (funded proposer, part of Cardano4Climate) and myself. The ideas will all be rated from 1 to 5. The 5 best ones will get a reward, these will have 1000 gimbatokens (this is a Gimbalabs community token), these tokens will allow them to have contacts and to be introduced to Gimbalabs engineers (<https://www.gimbalabs.com/gimbalgrid>). The 2nd and 3rd ones will get $500 each and the first one will get $1000 for them to kick off their projects.

  • Onboarding : After the tournament is over, they will have to either take a slot in the After Townhall breakout rooms or one in the Gimbalabs playground where they will present their idea and have some feedback from the community. I will onboard the top 5 to Catalyst and help them to write proposals for fund 11, moreover, I will help them to get in contact with people from the community if needed for them to help them for their ideas. Special attention will be given to the top 5 but everyone will be able to write proposals and will get help.

Why am I interested in Cardano ?

I know Cardano for about a year now, but I have really been active for fund 9 and I am now starting to understand the opportunity that Cardano can give to change the world, my goal is now to educate students, since I am a student myself, and in my opinion blockchain will be fully implemented in our society, I am concerned about the lack of knowledge that students have in this area.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

This proposal helps the students to realize their ideas with the help of Cardano which is what the challenge aims for. This proposal will allow some students, who will be the main actors in the Blockchain in the future, to integrate this system.

The success of the proposal fits perfectly the success given by the challenge, which is increasing the exposure of the students ideas, these can expect an easier funding and can be scouted by engineers, this could also be an awesome opportunity for the students to get to know Cardano and Catalyst.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The students do not give relevant and interesting ideas - to mitigate it we will teaching them the best way possible about Cardano and to supervise them so they give the best possible ideas.

The students will not be motivated to work with Cardano - By teaching them about Cardano and Catalyst, we will promote is and will make them understand the opportunity they have with Cardano for now and for their future. We will also explain that through catalyst they will be able to get initial founding which is very attractive to students. Moreover, knowing that they have the possibility to earn $1000 will motivate them.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

The timing is perfect since fund 10 starts when the school year starts, this will be perfect for the students to provide ideas for fund 11.

Week 1 - 3 : Teaching

  • Prepare content
  • present to the BIB class
  • Introduce them to Cardano
  • Introduce them to the tournament

Week 4 - 6 : Tournament

  • Start the tournament
  • Provide help if needed
  • Answer the questions
  • On week 6 : presentation of all the ideas, find the top 5 (as described above)

Week : 7 - 9 : Onboarding

  • Make the students present their projects on a Gimbalabs Playground session or/and an after Townhall session

  • Discuss the projects with the community

  • Help them write proposals for fund 11

  • Give advice

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

  • Teaching :

  • Prepare content : $40 x 11 hours = $440

  • Presentation : $40 x 3 hours = $120

  • Preparing a dedicated proposal format and presentation format for the student $40 x 3 hours = $120

  • Preparing guidelines for the competition and admin procedures $40 x 8 hours = $320

  • Tournament :

  • Advise them / answer their questions : $40 x 8 hours x 2 weeks = $640

  • 40$ x 3 judges x 4 hours = $480

  • Rewarding the top 3 : $500 x 2 + $1000 = $2000

  • Onboarding :

  • Presentations on Gimbalabs playground / after Townhall = $40 x 2 hours = $80

  • Help them write proposals, give advice : $40 x 20 hours = $800

Total Budget : $5000

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

I find that Catalyst is an amazing opportunity for me as a student, to change the world.

As I am presenting multiple proposals in this fund, here is an explanation of the workload management and how will I manage my time for next fund.

I have several proposals in this fund and I am working as an admin for 2 proposals from fund 8, how am I going to manage my time with my team, adding also the studies ?

Even if I am studying, I still have extra time to spend on the proposals that I need to work for, I am really interested about working with Catalyst and I will manage to work after class, or wake up earlier to work for Catalyst. If I am really lacking some time, I have the chance to study in a business school, and many students can help me to get the work done.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

Overall, we want to check the action of the project, mostly about the number of people participating and the quality of their work.

  • How many students participate in the project
  • Number of ideas given
  • Number of proposals that come from students and engineers
  • Feedback from the students
  • Rating of the ideas
  • Are the proposals funded ?
  • Feedback from Gimbalabs and the Cardano community

A report will be given at the end of the project

Presentation of students on Gimbalabs playground / After townhall will be recorded in zoom

all proposals will be visible for the community

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

The success will be calculated according to the quality of the results provided.

We lack some time to deliver ideas for fund 10 since the school year starts on September 15th and the proposal process finishes at the end of September, we will then start delivering content for fund 11 :

  • At least 50 participants on the presentation
  • around 20 ideas given
  • at least 5 written proposals for fund 11
  • 3 funded proposals
  • 50 possible new Catalyst community members

For fund 12, we expect the results to grow after the traction that will be achieved for fund 11, we expect the numbers to grow for fund 12

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

Entirely new one

Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Rating

The goal is to increase the quality of the education, mostly in business schools, I aim that since I am a student myself, and I know by experience that we lack some knowledge in this area. I am also believing that Blockchain is going to be fully implemented in our society in the future so I am concerned about this lack of knowledge.

I am currently waiting for the fund 10 to start, I have already made some communication with a lot of people from my business school in order to start implementing in it. I am still working on the presentation and I am also planning to talk about the project to the administration so we have more visibility. I am also preparing to share the project to the teachers of the school in order for them to see the presentation and maybe talk about it during their classes.

As said on the previous report, I am waiting for the 2nd part of the school year to start. Nowadays, we are in the vacation period and I would like to present my project to the students with a face-to-face session.
