CONTEXT

======

There are thousands of DeFi, GameFi published every month. A lot of new tokens were born every day. But the change to be long-term alive is lower than 1%. Moreover, FOMO made a lot of projects die young that make bad impacts on investor's life around the world. So, we need a new model that can:

  • Available for permanent scaling: that model should be simple to understand and join. Just a few steps, anyone can follow and cook it. That also means the system also needs fewer components for scaling up.
  • Sustainable economy environment: But! Should not be like current DEXs, anyone can launch a new token by themselves. It's good for scaling but it's not sustainable because of fraud and scam projects. Moreover, even they're no fraud, the market volume at a time is limited. Hence, as a newborn project, it's still tough to win other projects in the crowded market. And it's also made investors fail on investing in them. They lost their money!!!
  • Attracting more and more stakeholders to join: the only way to win in the market for a new project is their active users and user's actions: buy, sell, rent, lend, play, mint, stake… Making good environments for attracting more and more new users, and encouraging them with programs to increase their actions in the ecosystem will help that project and its token increase more value in the market.

HOW CAN MIVERSE SOLVE ALL THESE THINGS?

  • Miverse can permanent scaling: When enough required conditions, a star system will be born to serve investors and players.

For ex: staking enough amount of ADA, reach the minimum pre-order of land sales…

We love to make a thousand star systems like that in Miverse. That will give everyone the unlimited option to build their own kingdom, getting unlimited benefits.

  • Miverse have sustainable economy environments: steps to initiate a new star system is easy to understand and do, but the conditions belong to the need of the market.

For ex: If you want to initiate a new star system, there is a minimum staking volume for it. Or another condition is the need for game players in Miverse, when the number of players voting for a newborn star system reaches the minimum number we will start to make it.

These numbers will be calculated with complex math formulas for balancing the whole Miverse economy. It's will not serve only a single person or a small group.

  • Miverse can attract more and more stakeholders to join: as we mentioned above, Miverse has a lot of ideas for attracting users to join and act in their roles. Game players will love to enjoy their entertainment time in Miverse, investors have a lot of methods to invest sustainability, developers and creators can freely propose and develop their idea with Miverse funds. IN THE SCOPE OF THIS PROPOSAL

Currently, we're in the 1st phase of Miverse development. The first step is always important but also the hardest. We've already proposed 2 proposals for the new strategic chess game genre in this fund. This proposal will propose other awesome activities that can attract a lot of users including gamers, developers, creators.

It's comic.

The main purpose of this proposal in this whole phase is to attract play-to-entertain players to Miverse, firstly is our chess game. The comic is one of the best strategies to spread game awareness and inspire players because it can:

  • Inspiring: players want to know what mission they have to follow in a game, stories of their characters, and most of them want to find themselves in a game character. All of these things will inspire and make them spend more time in the game.
  • Sharing: it's hard to make your friend read a text story that you share, but they will swallow every single page if it's a comic whether they're playing that game or not. Then their friend will try that game someday if they didn't.
  • Connecting: at the end of each chapter, readers are always curious about what will happen next. That's a reason why there is a lot of conversation about that comic will be created in social media, especially comic communities or below the page of that comic. These phenomena happen weekly to a single comic, and it cannot with games. So, what if that comic belongs to a new game? Weekly, everyone tells about that comic and tells about that game too. It's good for developing a new game's community.

Especially with the main mission of Miverse, attracting play-to-entertain gamers. Developing a comic series that goes along with Miverse world will take advantage of both sides.

And creative hub

Furthermore, the comic is one of the most favorite categories that Miverse will encourage creators to develop in the future when launching programs ready for developers and creators. It means, Miverse comic is not the only series that we will produce, but it's the first one to help Miverse game and to inspire creators in the future. So, there are 2 main components that will be developed for Miverse comic in this proposal including:

  • Creative content platform: the on-chained creative content platform is where the creator can share their content with everyone in Miverse world.
  • The content can be images, memes, videos, comics, streaming… It will not on web-based only, our purpose is that will develop the infrastructure for Miverse that everyone can enjoy game streaming or reading the released comic in real-time together in the metaverse. So they can talk with every other fan, can interact with them, or you can find and sneaky with a new bae… this can't happen in a web-based platform. I believe that if you're a streaming viewer, there hundreds of times you want to make friend with a girl on streaming.
  • Can be sold, bought, traded, bid… on the marketplace: if you're a game streamer, now you can sell your streaming video before it is finished - for a better price, let people bid; and you're a fan, you can donate or own a video of your idol to support him easily…
  • Creator can share their content with various types of purchasing methods: one-time, package, subscription, membership…
  • Game's quest: some of these activities will be attached to the in-game quest of Miverse including main games and mini-games of developers if they want. In this phase of development, we will add the quest of reading comics to our chess game, players will earn rewards for it. It will not just motivate them more by reading comics, but also Miverse can make some new readers be gamers.
  • Miverse comic series production: in the scope of this proposal, we will start to develop the comic series of Miverse to follow and support the mission of 1st phase of Miverse development. Including:
  • Weekly publishing 15 black & white comic pages about Miverse stories.
  • Weekly clip about the character or comic drawing - that will be used for marketing purpose
  • Regular talk show with artist team about comic production - for marketing purpose
  • Comic trending retrospective for developing better comic narrative

Obviously, this comic development will make a big impact on comic readers whether they're Miverse's gamers or not. In the 1 phase of the project, for spreading this series, we will not just publish this series on Miverse comic platform only but spread to other mainstream comic platforms. Then we will encourage the audience with some gamification programs to convert them to be adopters to Cardano ecosystem in the future. This will:

1. Metaverse is a big deal with a small company:

That's the reason why we don't make our way like other big and experienced companies on developing metaverse, they make it like a small society with multi-complex functions. We will only make it for gaming entertainment and we do it step by step, from small to bigger things. What if we have a chance to expand like them? We will, but let's do it after the first 5 years.

2. Investors in this market are loving 5 years ideas than 10 years - our idea will not attract them:

Like Cardano ecosystem - Great thing takes time. We're very clear about our vision, so who those believe will believe, and we will try a million ways to go ahead to show that we appreciate them.

3. This project starts with prosing 3 proposals, what if we successfully be funded all of them or failed to leave only one?

This is our first time raising funding in Cardano and we are well aware of this. Currently, the team of this project is mixing of professionals in a game studio and a marketing agency. About the comic production, we will work with freelancers. And all of those development components were planned to develop independently in case of failure in raising funds. So, whether one or three proposals will be funded, we can make them successful.

Moreover, the mixed plan of three proposals will help to boost the performance of the project and the Cardano ecosystem. So, we hope that we can be successfully be funded with all 3 proposals at a time.

4. How can we survive without Catalyst project funds?

For developing this project, we need million or maybe billion of dollars. So we cannot depend on only the Catalyst project. So, we're not just developing raised funding plans from investors but also designing the monetary model that can help Miverse survive and develop further in the future as we described above. Moreover, we will start to raise private funds at the end of this phase. Hence, we hope that Catalyst project can help us at first step, hardest step of every dream.

Comic production is one of the hottest entertainment industries in the world now, there are a lot of comic platforms grow super fast in 10 years with help of thousands of comic series and authors. Means that it's very challenging! There are some key challenges that we have to face including:

  • We're new, how can we diverse our comic category? The comic is one of our creative content categories that encourage creators to engage to help boost up Miverse to the world. So, we won't aim to diversify the comic categories to fight back to other comic platforms. As the mission of Miverse, we will develop by ourselves or encourage authors to develop comics with the purpose of maximizing the experience of gamers in Miverse.
  • Making a comic series that people love is not easy, it's a fight of one to a thousand: yes! it will be hard at the beginning, maybe spend months of trying to make someone notice your comic with thousand times of fixing. But, we know that this is business and not publishing comics as a personal hobby. So we have a marketing plan and community development, interaction to learn faster, lean for getting the better state faster.

There are a lot of smaller challenges that we already analyzed and have plans to avoid or mitigate the damage to a minimum. But the above 2 challenges are the big ones that we think are more important.

To successfully run this proposal, we need these positions. We found and select someone that fit our requirements. But because it's not an official deal so we can just show someone here:

  • Writer/ Editor: The writer is the person responsible for writing the story. They are skilled and responsible for the overall story structure, dialogue, overall beats of the story, and the framework of the story. They are the big picture thinkers. The skeleton of the story. Without their underlying framework, you just have a bunch of scenes that don’t work together as a whole. And the editor is the person who checks for any spelling/grammar errors, the editor is also responsible for tracking continuity, checking over the pencils, inks, colours, and letters. We will employ a person that will take both these roles, it's normal in comic production.
  • ARTIST: for the first phase, we don't want to make a big team, it's hard to manage. So we will employ 2 artists with the same style for covering the task of pencils, inks, colours, letters for the workload of 15 pages per week. Depending on the business situation, we will decide to employ more members to lower the risk of overload into separate roles.

  • INKER: The inker uses strong lines and shading to emphasize the work already on the page from the pencils. The inker adds in any additional details needed to tell the story as per the script.
  • LETTERER: the letterer is responsible for incorporating all the dialogue, captions, and sound effects onto the page. They work off of the script that’s provided and use a specific set of comic book lettering rules to ensure that the page is easy to read and understand.
  • COLOURIST: The colourist does exactly what you might think: they colour the comics. A colourist is absolutely vital to the comic book. The comics medium has grown a lot over the years and now the colours on a comic can make or break how the book looks. They help set the tone, vibe, and just make the comic look a million times better.

Andy Nguyen - CEO of Unicorn Studio - Having more than 8 years of developing games for the Korean market for big companies like KakaoTalk, OllehStore, OzStore, TStore, and Facebook Instant Game. Many years of experience in making mobile applications, windows os, mac os, websites and graduated with a master's degree in data science. I am just starting to research and develop blockchain but feel that this is a very early market and there are many opportunities ahead so I decided to devote all my heart to the blockchain. The combination of my many years of game-making experience and my experience in researching and implementing a few blockchain projects will definitely help in the completion of this project. I also hope that in the process of working on the project, I will be able to create valuable research papers for the blockchain academic community.

Christian Ho - Founder of Unicorn Studio - Having more than 11 years of developing games, 5 years of PM, and 6 years of tech lead for many game projects as you can check the info in the attached file below. A year ago, when I met Mr. Dat, he is just a young entrepreneur without any experience in the gaming industry. Even he had a lot of experience in launching various kinds of business but a gaming business is not an easy one at all. However, his entrepreneurship and the ambition vision of Miverse motivated me to join it. I believe that in our ability and experience, we are sure that we can help Miverse pass its first phases and keep moving further in the future. This month for this proposal is just team up only, but we still try to develop the art concept for fastening the progress in next month. We're also develop and overall story and the first season structure - but it cannot be public shared to everyone. If any of you guys want to check our progress, we can show it to you. By the way, next month we will release the first images of this comic. So, it's easier to track our work. The images, above is character art style that was developed for both game & comic.

I attached the first 10 pages of the chapter 1 that we finished. For sustainable development long term, our first work seem slower than planned a lot because:

  • Author team is hard to form to understand and develop the plot align to the purpose of the author. We worked together 3 weeks (since July 5th) and still forming.
  • Artist team is also slow because of our paper work. We have to wait to the September for finishing registering our official company in Switzerland. Before that, we must make a temporary company in our country for contract signing with them for work. This will finished on the end of July. Moreover, their team and workflow is also slow that delay us a lot. For that reason, we will develop our own artist team on August, it's a big risk and can waste some money and also slower but can prevent uncertain situation like above.

About the committed delivery in our proposal, we will move it to the end of the October - instead of the end of September. All KPI and delivery still keep the same but slower 1 month.

  • Finish the 2nd chapter of the comic, and on finishing the 3rd and 4th chapter on the beginning of the September. It will be faster in the next month.
  • The summary of the next 10 chapters
  • Detail profile of 5 main characters in the first season for artist draw it. And artists will finish them in the first week of September (including fixing).
  • Finish the foundation of the comic including: history, environment, structure…

Things we were/ are not done on time.

  • Publish the comic in August. Hopefully, it will be possibly publish in the middle of the September.
  • To this time, we have to publish 3 chapters instead of nothing.

The reason:

  • Forming author team and help them understand the direction of the comic and the general concept took us more than a month. Luckily, they're doing good now!
  • Next step of the team up is how artist can understand what author want to do including: character visualization, comic drawing… not just that, we have to sync with the gaming art concept. So, it took a lot of time for fixing the visual of the characters, maps…
  • The ultimate reason is that instead of writing the comic by myself then let the team drawing, I'm now lead 2 author teams to creating the comic for sustainable long-term publication. So, it's make all the mess in the last month.

Our moves:

  • Finishing the visual document & ref of the all 5 character in the end of this week - on Aug 26th. We're currently have them but must refine for helping the artist drawing better. The hard deadline is this 26th.
  • Release the first chapter on the 2nd or 3rd week of September (means that late from the roadmap about a month).
  • Then release the next chapters weekly.
  • For the story, we will pre-produce to reach 6 more chapters after this month. Means 8 chapters in total to the next report.
  • And we will try to pre-produce the comic sooner than the publication schedule a week for risk management.

So, we still can run the proposal to finish the first 4 chapter to the end of the September with the remaining money we received. But it is better if Catalyst can release the half of the current fund for this report, to help us fastening the process in the end of the September - we can do it because the foundation now is almost done and the team will be better sync on the next month.

Comparing to the last month, these are our outputs:

  • Finish drawing art concept of all 3 main characters & some secondary characters of the comic
  • Finish drawing the comic for the 1st chapter
  • Finish the story of first 5 chapters
  • Finish the script for comic drawing for 2nd chapter

Something is on fixing/ updating more info:

  • Character profile: updating
  • Environment: updating and adding more
  • We're still seeking the main artist for the long-term production: the current art style of the current artist is not fix for what we want - that is based on our market research. But it will not be pend and will be kept publishing on time as below schedule. The new concept will be processed when we have new artist.
  • The production workflow will be changed: > From: Comic story production -> script -> story board -> drawing > To: Light novel -> script -> story board -> drawing The reason why we changed this is the plot will not be systematic and integrity when made by a team of conflict after they listen and follow my concept explanation - it's so hard and waste of time. So, I will write the light novel then they will base it on it to write for the comic.
  • We will change the structure of the next 10 chapters

Not as we planned as the last month:

  • Publish the first chapter in middle of September -> we change to October 7th for the first chapter then weekly publishing the comic later. This time is for sure because we already have the comic

So, for close this proposal - instead of this time, we think that it will cost 2 more months.

  • We will finish 2 more chapters (2nd and 3rd) of comic on next week (deadline: Oct 1st)
  • Then keep finishing once chapter per week: done at December 4th
  • Then the last chapter of the comic will be published on December 11st

  2. Re-make the comic: we have to re-make the comic because
  • The story also not solid, separating, not focus
  • The art style is not trendy, and we only have one artist that can draw that style. Hard to find another to support him. That will risk the future performance.
  • The number of panel per page currently is too many, that also the reason why the quality is not really good as we want at the start. So, we have to:
  • Writing the story again with new author team that will be led by our game designer - mr Bach, who is passionate to comic and also experienced in working with both game design and comic production team.
  • Recruiting and cooperating with new artist with art style that is common. Like one of these: Manhwa: Solo Leveling, Legendary Moonlight Sculptor, Overgeared - Manga: One Punch Man, Fairy Tail…

We didn't report the last month because of everything is pending for seeking the right people to suite the requirement:

  • Main artist with the style that fit our requirements. For this task we have to:
  • Finding people around the world
  • Testing of their sketch to know which one is the best for the project
  • Interviewing them then tell them about the current and future stage of the project
  • Dealing with them
  • Author Support to help refine the story
  • Finding
  • Testing Currently, we're developing new character appearance that follows our standard. The main artist already release the first finished character and on sketching the second one.

Moreover, with help of marketing team we made a common comic reader community and it is around 500 members now.

And in this month, we will release some information about the character and environment publicity on some fandom website and our official NAVA comic website. This will help people know better our our characters, assets, environments, events…

And for supporting this project going better with the new artist we have some plan for next month (out of the scope of this proposal), including:

  • Limited Comic Chapter CNFT
  • Comic card CNFT for gifting first guys who buy our comic Chapter CNFT
  • Developing comic reading platform that help connect comic reader and comic publisher. This platform will be a part inside Miverse Platform.
