Solution

An upgrade of the current Endubis Telegram wallet to be available on other platforms (Whatsapp + Discord), upgrade the current User Interface and add a Dapp interaction functionality.

Problem

Web3 can be confusing for people that are used to the traditional web2 world. We need new-user-friendly systems in order to onboard a large audience to the Cardano community and the De-Fi world.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Inception

Endubis wallet was born in Fund 7 mini-dapps challenge as a means to enable easy payments of ADA in Ethiopia. Our target audience for this app/bot are people new to the crypto space, that don’t want to deal with or have access to centralized platforms. We are strong believers in decentralized systems and thus our aim was to make the Cardano world easily accessible to the broader population. That is why we picked Telegram, the most widely used chatting app in Ethiopia, as a starting point.

Outcomes

After our initial test run of the Cardano wallet, we have received wide interest within our community and we have over 200 people currently accessing it on the testnet. and close to reaching 1000 users on the mainnet. After that with the implementation of the P2P exchange feature and integration with various payment methods across Africa, we hope to grow our customer base exponentially each month.

[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

The main goal of this project upgrade is to make the Endubis wallet fully functional and usable by new users. In order to do this we have proposed to improve the wallet and integrate it with existing services to improve the user experience.

Once complete the wallet will be able to provide the following services to the Cardano Ecosystem:

  • Onboard a large user group (10,000+ users in Ethiopia within 5 months) by simplifying the ease of access.
  • Provide an easy onboarding process for millions of users across Africa.
  • Provide the easiest secure wallet than what currently exists anywhere
  • Display their Cardano Assets (including NFTs) on their messenger app (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord)
  • integration with Fiat payment methods to ease buying assets and off-ramping, and
  • integration with Defi platforms to enable swapping, lending, and borrowing of assets directly on the wallet.

Our focus with this wallet is and will always be to ease the onboarding process of new users while maintaining the security of a non-custodial wallet. We believe grassroots activities of onboarding are still a long way off in most areas of the world and we intend for this product to be responsible for the onboarding of millions of users.

The current state of our wallet can be tested on the Test-net with the following address: https://t.me/EndubisTestWalletBot

Beta Main-net version is also available here:

[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

KPIs:

  1. Number of payment methods integrated
  2. Number of users of the wallet
  3. Number of daily unique engagements with the bot
  4. Number of transactions processed through the wallet

Furthermore, we will assess and evaluate user accessibility by monitoring interactions within our group chats and the “contact-us” section of the bot. This will allow users to request desired features or seek assistance regarding any difficulties they encounter.

We want to maintain a very close relationship with our customers and make sure they are well-protected and comfortable with using the wallet.

[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

To share the outputs and results of the project, we will:

  1. Open-source codes: provide all source codes for the project, which is currently available on GitHub
  2. Documentation and Publication: Prepare comprehensive documentation. Publish these resources on the project website and open-source repositories,
  3. Online Channels and Social Media: Utilize our social media platforms to share project updates, announcements, and milestones.
  4. Collaboration and Partnerships: Forge collaborations and partnerships with other projects, community members, and stakeholders within the Cardano ecosystem.
  5. Event Participation: Present the project’s outputs, impact, and opportunities at relevant conferences, workshops and meetups
  6. Participate in Twitter spaces: take part and contribute in the various Twitter spaces to update the community on our progress.
  7. Broadcasting Announcements on the Bot: We have developed a broadcast feature on the telegram wallet, and we will broadcast all major announcements to all the wallet users directly.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

By completing the previously funded project we have proven the possibility of such wallets to provide ease of use. Additionally, our onboarding numbers have proven our ability and dedication to deliver on this project.

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

  • 1x UI/UX Designer: 1,800 ADA /mo x 2 = 3,600 ADA
  • 1x web developer: 5,500 ADA /mo x 4 = 33,000 ADA
  • 1 Junior Developer: 1,800 ADA /Month x 6 = 10,800 ADA
  • Cloud Hosting: $2,000.00 = 7,150 ADA
  • Marketing: $2000 = 7,150 ADA
  • Project Administration: $2000 = 7,150 ADA

Total: Appx. $17,500 = 68,850 ADA

Payment for Developers has already been agreed upon in ADA, and price fluctuations will not affect 65% of the project in any way. for the Other services we used the USD value calculated at the current price of .28 and we’re confident any reasonable change towards the lower end will not affect this project.

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

This will be the final phase of the project, after this we expect the project to fund itself through its stake pool, transaction fees, and partnerships we intend to develop with local merchants.

This wallet has specifically been designed to onboard new users by simplifying the ease of use. We are working with the aim of this wallet opening the flood gated of new users. we are confident we can reach our target of 10,000 users within the first 5 months. we want to ensure that these new users get the best experience and allow us to guide them through the wonderful world of the Cardano ecosystem.

The team working on this project are very passionate about Cardano and since the inception of this project, we have spent plenty of our own resources and time ensuring its success, and we will continue to do so. We have put in a very minimal budget for what we plan to achieve, and due to the lower wage in our country, we are capable of delivering this project with a relatively low budget.
