Solution

Introduce Cardano at the largest trade shows. Focus on face-to-face conversations and demonstrations, and multiple exhibits throughout the year to stimulate communication and increase participation.

Problem:

The web3 industry in Japan is developing and regulations are being put in place, but Cardano is not recognized as an option for development and applications, which is a serious lost opportunity.

This proposal was approved and funded by the Cardano Community via Project F10: Developer Ecosystem - The Evolution Catalyst funding round.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

1) How do you perceive the problem you are trying to solve?

Although the number of exchanges handling ADA has increased in the last two years, there are still very few projects or applications using Cardano. We believe this is because Ethereum and then emerging companies such as polygon and Solana have been spreading awareness through promotion of NFT projects and related promotion companies. In Japan, WEB3 is being promoted as a national strategy, and without events and media exposure, Cardano will be buried among other chains for newcomers and remain a minor player.

2) Reason for approaching in such a way:

First of all, we need to be visible. What you don't know cannot be considered. We first show it in a way that catches the eye so that it hooks well to people who have overlooked it so far, and through conversations and applications, we communicate Cardano's good points and the state of its development infrastructure.

3) Who the project will involve:

we plan to invite relevant professionals from the community along with a display of Cardano's platform.

4)How to show and prove the impact:

to get attention with the exhibition, to actively inform many people about the goodness of Cardano, and to organize and share the exhibition, its appearance, and the results of the recognition.

(1) あなたが解決しようとしている問題をどのように認識しているか;

[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

(1) Increase Cardano's exposure. We will create opportunities for Cardano to be known through SNS and other means at exhibitions and pre- and post-exhibition promotional activities. We will also provide materials that will make Cardano known for a long period of time at offline events, etc., using a variety of novelties.

(2) Bring people into the Cardano ecosystem. We will increase interest in Cardano and connections through dialogue at the exhibition and related activities (number of visitors, number of sns followers, number of forum views, number of meetings held, etc. Have them take some kind of action).

(3) Increase opportunities for developers to use Cardano. Actively introduce development support tools and invite new Catalyst participants.

[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

(1) Awareness of Cardano = 6,000 visitors: counted by pamphlet distribution, number of business cards, etc.

(2) Involvement in the Cardano ecosystem = 1,000 visitors: counted by number of forum views, SNS registrations, wallet downloads, inquiries, NFT distribution, etc.

(3) Companies participating in development = 5: Counted by the number of teams that submit proposals to Catalyst (to be done by 6 months after the event)

[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

(1) The event will be announced and the event will be posted on the Cardano Forum.

(2) The event and its results will be disseminated via social networking sites.

(3) The connected customers will be involved in the event by revisiting and announcing the event.

(4) Cardano community can participate in the customer's events to expand the relationship with the customer.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

We have already held four similar events to date and have received good feedback from the community. We have also raised funds from the Catalyst Fund and have been approved for completion on all of them.

As an SPO, we operate a stake pool and are also active in CIP 1694 meeting participation and translation activities. Regarding fund management, all activity reports are accompanied by an income/expense statement. And the ADA received is managed and staked in one dedicated wallet, so any increase or decrease can be easily checked by anyone.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

Main goal: to expand the Cardano community, engage developers, and get Cardano to be a tool of choice.Progress and results will be made public through monthly reports, Eastern Hemisphere meetups, and social networking sites.

(1) Expanding the community = getting people to know Cardano, its characteristics, applications and development environment at the exhibition. We have tentatively reserved a booth for this purpose. We are in continuous contact with the exhibitors regarding the contents of the exhibition, and will proceed with concrete plans as soon as the funding is approved. We will announce the event, and post photos and videos of the booth, exhibits, and handouts on the Cardano Forum and social networking sites. Preparation status will be included in the monthly report.

(2) Involvement of developers = We will involve new community members and developers through the exhibition and related activities. We will ensure that we have enough staff to give detailed explanations of the exhibition and provide as much on-the-spot support as possible. We will also hold offline meetings to follow up with developers and companies we have connected with and to further deepen connections. The number of visitors and offline activities will be disclosed on SNS and monthly reports.

(3) We aim to get 5 first time teams to participate in the event. If we can achieve this, we will see the Catalyst proposals of new participants in the Catalyst Fund a few rounds later.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

《Value》

【Attention】

The exhibition will be attended by 20,000 to 30,000 business people and IT professionals. Cardano will be recognized by the attention of the busiest booths there. Cardano community is active and deserves attention, and industry professionals are becoming increasingly aware of it.

【They trust us】

A booth at the event will impress companies, ministries, and developers that Cardano is a solid project, and will encourage them to choose Cardano for their development.

【Supporting developers】

The community can also function as a place to actively present their projects and to support projects under development and others. It also provides an invaluable opportunity to interact directly with key community and development figures, such as foundation members, to shorten the path to Cardano adoption.

【The community grows stronger】

The Cardano community will be strengthened by the positive connections that will be generated through active and visually-obvious activities in the capital city of Tokyo. It has actually triggered the start of several community activities. It is also a source of reassurance for people like the holders from the ICO who do not usually get information.

"it sounds like you have a well thought out plan for each milestone, with clear outputs and expected outcomes. I would like to emphasize a few important points:

  1. You plan to secure a venue for the ""Blockchain EXPO Fall"" event by August 2023 at the latest. This is an important milestone and should be prioritized so that you can proceed with your planning activities. other.
  2. By September 2023, you plan to start planning promotional materials and exhibitions for the ""Blockchain EXPO fall"" event. This is a good time frame to start this task, as you will need time to research, design, and implement.
  3. The estimated time for the implementation of the planned activities and results is realistic. It looks like you've timed each milestone and taken into account possible interruptions or delays.
  4. It is important to regularly monitor your progress, assess any deviations from the plan, and communicate any changes or challenges to stakeholders. This will help ensure that you stay on track and can make any necessary adjustments to achieve your goals.

The proposer has successfully organized similar exhibitions before so I think they can carry out this project successfully without any difficulty. However, I recommend the proposer to add more information about the team members so that the voter can easily assess the ability of each member. For example, contact information, skills, experience and roles of members.

They work hard and help the Cardano community to make it better and stronger. I think the Cardano community trusts and likes them.

They know how to make good events and do them well. They also show that they are honest and careful with their money and work.

They want more people in Japan to know and use Cardano, which is a big and important place for web3 things. They also want more people to make and use things with Cardano, which is good for Cardano and its users. They also want Cardano to be the best choice for making and using things, which is better than other platforms.

I think they have a smart and good way to do their goals. They will show Cardano at big events and other places to make more people see and like it. They will also tell and show people how good and useful Cardano is, like how it uses science, research, green energy, and smart contracts. They will also help and ask people to join and work with Cardano.

They will check and tell how well they are doing their things, like how many people come, take, ask, get, see, join, download, meet, and make ideas. They will also share their work and results with the Cardano community in different ways, like monthly reports, meetups, and social media. They plan to show Cardano at two big events in Japan, one in autumn 2023 and one in spring 2024. They also plan to show Cardano at other web3 places in the year. They have said what they will do for each event, like getting the place, making the papers and things to show, showing and counting the people, and helping and working with the people.

They have also thought about the things that may change or be hard for their project, like the places, the people, the events, and the Covid-19 thing. They have also said that they will choose the best events and places to show Cardano after they do more research.

I think your plan is useful and easy to understand. It also helps the Cardano community to know and follow your work and results.

The proposer possesses experience in conducting exhibitions for Cardano, which makes the project feasible for successful implementation. Additionally, the proposer has involved some of the most prominent figures in Cardano, including Sebastien Guillemot from dcspark and Yuri Kuriyama from jpg.store, among others. Since the project is an offline exhibition, it will be straightforward for the community to verify its execution. The proposal also provides measurable metrics to define the proposal's success, such as the number of visitors, participating companies, and involvement in Cardano. The publication plan for the project is clearly outlined, with intentions to publish in the Cardano forum, as they have done in the past, and on social networking sites. The feasibility section is excellently written, and considering the team's experience, the project is highly likely to be successful.

In such way that the idea is great and have positive impact to the community, the feasibility of the project has been identified and clarify by the proposer clearly. More-over with the experiences of the main contributor will lead the project more visible to be succeed. The point of feed back is related the project deliverable which are not open source but in some circumstance there is activity which potential will be part of the proposal to bring more visitor rather than just distributed the pamphlet.

The proposal mentions past experience in organizing similar events and the successful completion of projects funded by the Catalyst Fund. The team consists of capable individuals with experience as ambassadors, SPOs, and accountants. They also plan to involve professionals from the community in the project. This demonstrates their capability to deliver the project with trust and accountability.

Pros:

Relevant experience: The team has prior experience in organizing events and participating in the Cardano ecosystem. Good financial management: The detailed budget breakdown and financial transparency show a responsible approach to fund management. Community involvement: The team intends to engage the Cardano community, which can further support and promote the project.

Cons:

Potential event uncertainties: The proposal acknowledges that the number and scale of web3 events in Japan may vary, and careful examination will be required to decide which exhibitions to participate in.

This proposal team appears to already have been implementing a base version of this idea and gotten the feedback from the community. So, I think they could repeat the feat as required to continue to deliver the product. Although, they could repeat program activities, I find there are good enough information to carry the project. I find there are milestone and its targets that give me information who they measure for each their activities. About the team, I find lack information about bibliography of the team. Perhaps the proposer could provide the information about team member thus, we would know who they are and what are they capabilities. For the budget, they provide adequate information. Perhaps they could breakdown the budget into detail such as, cost for the brochure, cost of pamphlet and rent venue/day fo each exhibition. Although, there is lack of information, I find the information to implement the project is feasible. It just needs to touch up little bit, so that proposal look perfect

There is a detailed roadmap which has listed all the expo at the given month. Almost every month there would be an expo in Japan. The team did list their plans on what they are going to bring to the events (like inviting core developers/speakers) but would appreciate if the team put more information about what key content are in place, what are the difference going to be compared to last year (as mentioned by the author they have been funded for the event before). All in all, the proposal is feasible as given their past experience they know what they are doing, However, what would make this a perfect score would be the information on what the team are going to do differently compared to past events.

The undertaking is doable. The proposal shows a well-defined project plan and budget, together with project milestones and particular tasks to be completed. The team appears to have the knowledge, expertise, and capacity to finish the project effectively. They have a history of putting on such events and have gotten positive reviews from the locals. The team's transparency in fund management and reporting is another indication of their accountability. High feasibility is proposed. The project team has proven that they are capable of completing the task with a high degree of accountability and trust. Four comparable events that they successfully arranged in the past have all been given the go-ahead. Furthermore, they actively participate in the Cardano ecosystem.

Is the funding amount requested for this project reasonable and does it provide good Value for Money to the Treasury?

Commenter gravatar

"the cost of the Blockchain EXPO events in 2023 and 2024, along with other exhibition and administrative costs, amounted to approximately $77,882, or approximately 267,024 ADA at an exchange rate of 0.292 USD/ADA. In terms of expected benefits, the project will provide Cardano with significant visibility and recognition in the Japanese market, where there is great potential for adoption and growth. The exhibition will be attended by 20,000 to 30,000 entrepreneurs and IT professionals, giving Cardano the opportunity to reach a wide range of potential users, partners, and developers. The exhibition booth will also give a solid impression to companies, ministries, and developers, which may encourage them to choose Cardano for development. Furthermore, the project will support the Cardano community, providing a platform for active project promotion and interaction with key community and developer figures. Overall, I believe the cost of the project represents a good value for money for the Cardano ecosystem. The expected benefits in terms of visibility, recognition and growth are substantial and the project will present valuable opportunities for collaboration and adoption.

They will use $77,882 (267,024 ADA) for their project, which will take 12 months. They will spend the money for these things: -Getting the place for the events -Making the things to show -Printing and giving the papers -Moving and other costs -Office costs They have also said the money rate and the choice for Japanese money. They have also shown how they will use and tell their money and work.

I think the people in the project team are good and know what they are doing. They have said the project team members and what they do. They have two leaders, Shusuke Wakuda and Yuta, who are both helpers and SPOs. Shusuke is the main person and Yuta is the second person and money person. They have also said the skills of the new team members, like SPO, EMURGO, dcSpark, JpgStore, Plutus maker, Catalyst idea person, money person, etc. They have different people who can do different things with Cardano. They have people who work well with each other and want the same thing. I think they will do well with their project.

They have said why the money for the project is good for Cardano. They have said what good things their project will do, like: -More people will see and know Cardano by having a big and good place at the events. -More companies, offices, and makers will pick Cardano for their work by showing that Cardano is strong and safe. -More makers will join and work with Cardano by giving them information, help, rewards, and chances to talk with important people in Cardano. -More people will join and help Cardano by making good friends and things with your events. I think the money for the project is fair and cheap for Cardano.

The project requires a high budget, totaling $77,000 for two exhibitions. Considering that the events will be the largest blockchain expo in Japan, drawing thousands of visitors and involving prominent figures in the Cardano ecosystem, the project is undoubtedly worth the investment. However, due to the substantial budget, I recommend that the proposer provides a more detailed breakdown of the budget. For example, the exhibit cost of $10,417 should include specific details for items such as the stage, properties, speaker fees, rent, and so forth. Similarly, the venue and handout costs should also have more comprehensive information included in the proposal. Because of the reasons stated above, I will give the proposal 4 stars rating.

The budget breakdown provides clarity on how the funds will be utilized for different aspects of the project. The proposed cost seems reasonable given the goals and outcomes expected. The potential benefits of increased exposure, industry recognition, and developer engagement justify the funding amount requested.

Pros:

Tangible outcomes: The project aims to achieve specific targets in terms of exhibitors, visitors, and developer involvement, making it easier to assess its success. Industry recognition: The project can help Cardano gain recognition and trust from companies and developers, potentially leading to more adoption and investment in the ecosystem.

Cons:

Metric-based evaluations: To ensure better value for money, the proposal could consider incorporating more concrete metrics to evaluate the return on investment.

Overall, the proposal shows promise and the potential to positively impact the Cardano ecosystem. With a well-organized plan, feasible milestones, and a reasonable budget, the project has the capacity to succeed. Further elaboration on specific measurement metrics and value-for-money evaluations would enhance the proposal's strength.

This project has value for money since to promote and market the Cardano in Japan. About the cost, I think a bit expensive thus, we need to know the detail of the budget thus the community can evaluate and discuss the budget with the proposer. the benefit that would gain from this project on the other hand, such as, Cardano blockchain will attract more attention from the public in Japan, thus, it is opportunity to invite more Japanese both young and old generation to join in Cardano and this will give new nuance in Cardano ecosystem. At the same time, since it will support by the public thus, developer and the community are growing and become stronger in Japan. Expanding the Cardano in Japan will bring much benefits (beside it mentioned above) to Cardano ecosystem thus, this project value for money for treasury. Furthermore, the project still needs to be controlled by the community especially output for each their activities.

Key metric are listed out in details, and every metric are quantifiable which make it easier to track and trace the team performance. The team would post social media updates and more information regarding the events when it gets closer to the date. All in all, as I have said before, more awareness would create more opportunity, and with more opportunity Cardano developers would benefit from it and Cardano would benefit from the increase in developers as well. Thus, I find this proposal value for the money.

This project will be positive to the treasury and the cardano community because its going to bring in more people into the community which implies increase of activities within the community therefore increasing funds and at the same time making the cardano ecosystem known to more people out there.and also the funding amount for this project is reasonable.

The value for money rating is medium. The proposal's ability to give value for money has been shown in part. Although the team members and their responsibilities are listed, there is some information lacking or unclear about how the ADA will be used. Additionally, it may be difficult to adequately track progress because the milestones are defined in a quite generic way. The proposal does emphasize a few possible value-for-money elements, including attracting attention at the exhibition, fostering trust between businesses and developers, and assisting developers through community interactions. There are, however, gaps in the explanation of the precise financial factors and budget breakdown, which may influence the evaluation of value for money as a whole.

Has this project clearly demonstrated in all aspects of the proposal that it will positively impact the Cardano Ecosystem?

Their idea is smart and good. Showing Cardano at a big event will make more people know and trust it in Japan. They can also show how good and useful Cardano is, like how it uses science, research, green energy, and smart contracts. They can also bring Cardano experts to help and teach the people who come and want to make things with Cardano. They plans before and after the event are also good and well done. The team will use social media to tell people about their event and make them curious and excited. The team will also meet and help the people who come and work with them. The team will also ask them to join Catalyst and make their own ideas. Their idea is complete and powerful. I think it will make Cardano bigger and better in Japan and other places.

I think the proposal's aim to achieve the following targets is ambitious and realistic: -Awareness of Cardano = 6,000 visitors -Involvement in the Cardano ecosystem = 1,000 visitors -Companies participating in development = 5

I think these targets are ambitious because they require a lot of effort and resources to reach such a large and diverse audience. They will also need to have a strong and consistent social media presence, a reliable and supportive follow-up system, and a persuasive and inviting invitation to Catalyst.

I think these targets are realistic because they are based on the expected number of attendees at the expo, which is estimated to be around 30,000. You will also leverage the existing Cardano community in Japan, which has over 10,000 members. They will also benefit from the growing interest and demand for web3 solutions in Japan, which is supported by the government and the industry.

This proposal is intended to increase visibility and awareness of the Cardano ecosystem, and the overall goal is to attract more developers to the platform and encourage new adoption. The proposed solution addresses the challenge by creating opportunities for Cardano to be known through SNS and other means at exhibitions as well as pre- and post-exhibition promotional activities. It also increases the opportunity for developers to use Cardano by actively introducing development tools and inviting new Catalyst participants. The measurement of the success of the project will be done through counting the number of visitors, counting the number of SNS registrations, wallet downloads, requests, distribution of NFTs, number of groups submitting proposals to Catalyst and the number of companies involved in the development. The outputs and results of the project will be shared through social networking sites and also at community events to expand relationships with customers. Overall, the estimated impact of this proposed solution is positive, with benefits including increased exposure, increased interest, and increased opportunity.

The idea conveyed by this project is great. I understand the project wants to introduce Cardano in trade shows aimed at increasing participation. I think that this will actually increase Cardano's exposure and bring more people into the Cardano ecosystem. This will be of great impact to the Cardano ecosystem. It's impact on the Cardano ecosystem will be undoubtedly great.

The proposal aims to address the challenge of limited exposure and awareness of Cardano in the blockchain space. By participating in several blockchain events, the project intends to increase Cardano's visibility and engage potential users and developers. The proposed solution demonstrates a positive impact on the Cardano ecosystem as it focuses on increasing Cardano's exposure, bringing more people into the ecosystem, and providing opportunities for developers to use Cardano.

Pros:

Increasing awareness: The project aims to reach a substantial number of business people and IT professionals through the exhibitions, which will improve Cardano's recognition. Engaging developers: By involving new community members and developers, the project aims to expand Cardano's developer base. Strengthening the community: The active and visually-obvious activities in Tokyo will generate positive connections and strengthen the Cardano community.

Cons:

Limited measurement metrics: The proposal could benefit from more specific and detailed metrics to measure the success of each impact goal.

The proposal goals is to continue the successful Cardano exhibition held at the largest blockchain expo in Japan. By involving well-known figures in the Cardano ecosystem, attracting participation from several companies, and reaching thousands of visitors, the project is will have a significant impact on the community. This impact will not only provide Cardano exposure to non-Cardano owners but also create opportunities for developers to engage in Cardano projects. Given the team's experience, the project has a high likelihood of success. The proposal is well-written, and in my opinion, the project deserves the funding it needs.

Focusing on face-to-face conversations and demonstrations will engage people to learn more about cardano. However, there will be limitations regarding the number of people that can be reached out to.

As stated by the author, the awareness of Cardano is not as powerful compared to competition chains like Polygon, Solana, Etheruem and so on. Thus, the proposal aims to compete by attending to major events across Japan to promote Cardano. This would of course increase the chances of the awareness and in return more project could come abord Cardano and the developer ecosystem would flourish further. The author did mentioned that they would use pamphlets as a mean of introducing Cardano, but I believe the team should looks into making an NFT like Polygon did in some of their events as this would make it more interesting and hook the audience more. All in all, I still believe this proposal address the challenge.

This is a niche proposal to expand the Cardano in Japan. They argued that Cardano in Japan does not well-known compare to other blockchain platform. In addition to this, they want to promote and market it Cardano Blockchain in Japan. Since the Cardano does not recognize well in Japan, thus, distribute pamphlet and posting the poster in public is the good way for promotion. In addition, I agree with this move, thus, they also focus on face-to-face conversations and demonstrations, and multiple exhibits throughout the year to stimulate communication and increase participation. It is simple way to market Cardano blockchain but I think, it is the effective way and give impact to Cardano ecosystem. Furthermore, they provide the target quantitatively to measure impact of this program. At the same time, they are promising to give the report or information about pre- and post-exhibition promotional activities. It is what also suggested. In addition. Perhaps, In the final report they can provide quantitative report and qualitative report to the Cardano community. Thus, I give 5 star for this

The project's potential effects on the Cardano Ecosystem have yet been partially shown. The plan makes reference to improving Cardano's visibility and attracting new users to the ecosystem through exhibitions and promotional events, but the specifics and quantifiable results are not made explicit. There are gaps and omissions in the explanation of how the suggested solution can actually improve Cardano's visibility and draw new users to the ecosystem. The suggested impact is moderate. While the project seeks to make Cardano more well-known and generate interest through exhibitions and promotional events, there is a dearth of concrete proof or precise criteria to assess the efficacy of these initiatives. More precise and quantifiable measures of performance should be included in the plan.

This project will have a huge impact on the cardano community. Japan is well known for its technological advancement, so pushing the cardano projects in japan will bring positive advancement to the cardano community there by making it famous like Euthereum or Solano in the country. Most importantly the project has clearly demonstrated ways in which this will be beneficial to the cardano ecosystem and it can be seen based on statistics from their past project showing cardano can eventually take over a country like japan.
