Solution

Host French language events and provide educational workshops to inform the communities about the Cardano blockchain solutions.

Problem:

There is no Cardano community in the French West Africa. People lack awareness of the blockchain solutions. Cardano could gain more grounds.

[IMPACT]

The Ougadougou and Bobo Dioulasso hubs will hold bi-weekly French language events, including community gatherings and educational workshops. These will be both in-person and online events.

In addition to the existing WhatsApp group we will create Telegram groups to enable members to stay in touch.

We already have a Youtube channel where we share French contents on Cardano and the blockchain technology in general as well as other matters.

We will also provide the communitywith a French monthly summary of Charles Hoskinson's and other important updates on Cardano

The French West Africa Outreach project will be greatly beneficial not only for the local communities but also for the Cardano blockchain as we work at promoting its adoption.

- New users will be introduced to Cardano

- A space will be provided for French speaking Cardano members to interact

- Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso talents will be discovered and connected to Cardano

- Quality educational workshops will be provided

- Adoption of Cardano apps will be promoted

- 24 successful events will be held in 6 months

The risk is to have many people join the community thinking we are promoting investment into crypto currency; most people in Africa think blockchain is only about crypto currency investment. But through our educative workshops, we will make them discover all the opportunities of the Cardano Blockchain and how they can take advantage of the technology.

We have launched and are currently running two hubs in Burkina Faso(Bobo Dioulasso & Ouagadougou). Meet-ups are held twice a month in either hub. We are organising a major conference next week with developpers and entrepreneurs as our main target to present the Cardano Blockchain and its solutions to them. https://youtu.be/ka-rfsHs_wM

We had a French question-answer session on Twitter Space with a guest called Mr. Nyagatare Valens, a crypto investor and member of the Cardano community. He answered the participants' questions related to the blockchain in general and its opportunities for the people in Africa. He spoke about some of the wonderful projects built on the Cardano blockchain namely World Mobile and the attendees were very excited about it.

In collaboration with the Goma hub, we enrolled a total of 7 developers all based in West Africa who will start the Haskell and Plutus training in French next Monday

As mentioned in our last report, 10 developers enrolled for Haskell and Plutus training in French. The training was supposed to take 10 weeks but due to some technical challenges with the platform there has been a delay. Nevertheless they meet the instructor every Saturday for a live follow-up. Hopefully they will soon be through. We also organized a workshop in the framework of our French West Africa Outreach mission.
