Solution

Use the success from OpenSea and other Ethereum NFT marketplaces to create a rich API for NFT collection embeds in a Javascript Widget.

Problem:

There doesn't exist an easy way to embed CNFT images + metadata on websites in a simple standard format.

Detailed Plan

Pool.pm is a great start to building a rich NFT exploration page and standard for showing off and embedding your NFT collections, wallets, and verifying your ownership over certain assets. Our goal is to build upon this model and create an easy embed (copy paste) to run a similar search over a wallet's content, Policy ID minting stream, etc. This way projects can embed data you would get from pool.pm regarding NFT's in a simple, standard, and beautifully designed format anywhere on the web.

Revelar is the first NFT Game Engine on Cardano and will bring gaming specific tooling for game developers / teams to spend their time on the game, not integrating it with Cardano.

This proposal covers the game asset image embed within the Revelar NFT Game Engine v1. With this proposal we really wanted to help set a standard data stream and visualization of NFT's, collections, combinations, and more to be used in early web app account inventory dashboards for games.

V1 of this dashboard will include

- API to pull NFT data from policy ID, wallet, asset, transaction and cache the primary information

- Dashboard to choose your settings, setup your widget, copy the code to show the API results on your site.

- backend integration with Revelar Game Engine

Measurables (Auditability)

As defined by the challenge, our goal is to focus on three key metrics over a 3, 6, 12 month period for the Revelar Game engine's impact on Cardano NFT games.

Number of API calls displaying NFT's weekly growth

# Unique domain url's with embedded widgets

Our 3 month goal after v1 of the image embed is 250,000 API calls & 20 unique domains

Our 6 month goal is 1,500,000 API calls & 100 unique domains

Our 12 month goal is 10,000,000 API calls & 200 unique domains

Development Timeline (Audibility)

- March 1st 22' (Sprint 1): Frontend UI/UX design complete

- Weeks 3 & 4 (Sprint 2): API integration with on-chain data & caching

- Weeks 5 & 6 (Sprint 3): Dev load testing of embedding existing NFT collections & frontend work

- May 22' (Sprint 4): Full integration with all Revelar services

Public delivery by: May 31st, 2022

Costs & Use of Funds (Auditability)

The funds used in the development of this API and web app page will be used to (partially) pay developers. We will be paying all cloud service costs out of pocket. Since this will ultimately be a commercialized service for developers, Revelar will provide the equivalent of USD value in credits to artists / projects who use the Revelar Game Engine on a first-come-first serve basis (cap per project). This will extend the Catalyst Fund value to projects far beyond this initial investment.

Development hours: 335 (3 devs each contributing ~14 hrs each week for 8 weeks)

This ends up being $34/hr to the developers, the rest of their rate will be covered by Revelar.
