Detailed Plan
INTRODUCTION: THE GOAL
When dealing with interoperability we tend to think of being interoperable with the outside ecosystem while we underestimate the role of internal interoperability. Numerous ideas and projects are appearing from the Atala Prism community covering a broad range of use cases. However many of them can be grouped in common patterns and agree to share similar credential models and semantics.
This project is about organizing these common credential patterns so we create an ecosystem that starts organized and standardized as much as possible from ground zero.
This goal can be achieved with the following actions:
- create a repository of credential models where the community can access and modify
- research and document known credential models and semantics
- keep creating and updating models from the community
This project will cope with activities 1 and 2, while activity 3 should be an ongoing movement from the community. It's a very simple project but not for that being less important.
PROJECT SCOPE
For that initial part there's not a lot of effort needed. We estimate the following efforts:
- creating the repository, process flow, and basic infraestructure resources: USD 500
- 50 hours of research and documentation: USD 5.000
TOTAL COST: USD 5.500
ESTIMATED DURATION: 1 MONTH
PROJECT METRIC AND DELIVERABLES
The first deliverable is the repository with a tutorial and rules of how to use it.
The second deliverable is the content that will be provided with the research hours.
Two KPI/metrics are defined to track progress and audibility:
- Readiness of the repository as % of implementation
- Number of high quality schemas documented
RISK MITIGATION
Although is a simple project, two concerns are identified and addressed:
- Since main task is a research activity, there will be a concern of the quality of the info researched. We can cope with that risk by measuring not only the quantity of schemas provided, but also quality and usefulness of the information. That can be achieved by providing references from well known sources
- The goal is that the consolidated info generates internal interoperability and that it will keep complemented and updated during the time. The way to tackle that is to raise awareness that the info is available in the community and Atala Prism Pioneers Programs.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
I'm proposing this project because I realized it's very important to organize ourselves from the beginning. However, this project can (and should) be performed by many members. I more than welcome others to join and share the 50 hours of research contribution.
