Marlowe Course for Vietnam Devs

Please describe your proposed solution.

Similar to the Blockchain course that we are requesting in another proposal, This is the main course of the Fimi community, we have started building the community from bringing the right knowledge and right mindset to the community of crypto investors in Vietnam, helping them to qualify for know and avoid SCAM blockchain projects.

Since the 5 years ago, more than 1000 trainees have attended our courses. You can see trainees testimonials about the course

For now, the course is still being held regularly every 2 months, and trainees will pay a tuition fee of 10,000,000 VND (~400 USD). But we want to make this course a social property in the same way that the company IOG has done with all of their intellectual property.

If the community votes on this proposal, thousands of trainees in Vietnam will be able to learn it for free. The Cardano community will have more talented and honest developers.

The course will be held on 2 weekend days. The course locations are large classrooms in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The contents of the course:

 • The core principles of Marlowe and how to write smart contracts.
 • Using the Marlowe Command line interface (CLI) tool, the Marlowe Playground to make smart contract with "the language of block",
 • The course will also cover topic of Haskell, Plutus and Glow
 • Some case studies and practical exercises such as Loan, Monthly Payment, Auction, Swaps or Simple lock ADA for period of time ….
 • Online support via Telegram, weekly Question and Answer (Q&A) sessions.

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

The course will give inexperienced programmers a head start in the blockchain world. They can then build their own careers by designing applications that use Smart-contracts through the simple programming language Marlowe, or they can also seek employment with other projects that need other projects. engineer that a programmer in the Marlowe language can meet.

So, the course is address the challenge.

What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Potential risk: The outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic will prevent the course from being held on schedule.

Our solution: Organize those courses online, through the Zoom platform. This may reduce the interaction between students and the teacher, but it still ensures a sufficient amount of knowledge needed to help students learn most of the knowledge of the course. After that, when the pandemic is under control, all students in the online course will be re-learned in subsequent training courses to ensure that students can fully absorb the knowledge of the course.

Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

In this proposal, we propose an operating budget to organize 4 courses within 6 months after the proposal is approved.

 • The 1st course: To be held in Hanoi, expected in September or October 2022
 • The 2nd course: To be held in Ho Chi Minh City, expected in November or December 2022
 • The 3rd course: To be held in Hanoi, expected in January or February 2023
 • The 4th course: To be held in Ho Chi Minh City, expected in February or March 2023
 • Close the proposal.

As soon as all 4 courses are completed, we will make a full report with Catalyst as a closed proposal.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

We are requesting for a mount of:

 • $12.000: Lecteurs (4 Courses x $3.000)
 • $2.000: Flight tickets and hotel for the lectures (4 Courses x $500)
 • $400: Documents (4 Courses x $100)
 • $1.200: Support team (4 Courses x $300)
 • $4.800: Class room rental fee (4 Courses x $1.200)
 • $2.000: Digital marketing (4 Courses x $500)
 • $2.000: Advisor
 • $2.500: Reserve

------------------------

Total amount: $26.900

Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

Main Lecture: Who will teach for the most lesson of the courses.

Do Manh Hung

 • Master of financial
 • Community manager
 • Plutus Pioneer
 • Influence and inspire trainer

Fimi support team: Who ensure every element for the courses to run and complete perfectly.

If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Yes

This is the first series of courses that we organize with budget funded by Catalyst. After implementing the courses for the first half year, we need to optimize the system of course processes, then we need to propose a new budget to expand the reach market size. In the following funds we hope to have hundreds of new developer join the Marlowe courses.

Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

Number of new developers registered for the course

 • Through the people who come to the session, we will make a report for the community to easily check in this file.

Number of developers able to practice with Marlowe language.

 • At the end of each course we will give some exercises for developers to practice with it. Through this we will know how many developers can practice the Malowe language by themselves.

What does success for this project look like?

After finishing 4 courses on Marlowe, we want to:

 • Hundreds of new developers in Vietnam can get hands-on with the Marlowe programming language, thereby helping their career growth.
 • We created a new team of talented developers in Vietnam that can work with other projects that are lacking this human resource.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This is the first time FIMI request for a Marlow course.

So, Please VOTE for this proposal to make more new Marlowe developers.
