[IMPACT]

Snapbrillia was born six months ago with the mission to accelerate the world's transition to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce and guarantee fair opportunities for all through the adoption of AI and blockchain technologies globally. Earlier in February after deep research and much deliberation, we decided to work with the Cardano network. We are going to deploy a mentor-mentee eLearning marketplace with development bounties, workshops, and hackathons to foster a vibrant community of developers and entrepreneurs. We also realized that IDE dependency setup is a big blocker to effective collaboration on Cardano and so we are streamlining onboarding with a No-code-setup Collaborative Cloud IDE with support of Haskell, Plutus, and Marlowe to boost mentor-mentee developer productivity and accelerate collaboration and eLearning.

Since Snapbrillia’s conception, we have been hacking away to launch our AI hiring solution with API access to 840 million professionals in January of 2022 which is currently being adopted by Fortune 1000 companies. We have since discovered that the biggest need for people breaking into the tech industry is a hands-on development experience with an effective mentorship. Our mentor-mentee eLearning marketplace with real development bounties, workshops, and hackathon offers real opportunities for developers to come together, learn together, and gain hands-on dev experience together while collaborating with other mentors and developers.

There is a massive opportunity for the Cardano dev community to grow and scale because engineering hiring and job hunting suck not just for Web3 but across tech globally. The hiring environment is extremely competitive with 1,847,900 open software engineering jobs in the US alone [1] when the US provides only 47,906 CS graduates each year. There is also a huge gap in gender diversity (21.7%) and ethnic diversity (15.5%) among computer science graduates. [2] At the same time, over 25 million people have quit their jobs in the last 6 months and as many as 375 million people will quit their jobs between now and 2030 hoping to break into better careers globally. [3] Compared to the staggering demand for better careers, there are very few truly entry-level positions and internships available for people to earn hands-on experience and start their journeys to financial freedom while open-source and many other projects desperately need more support and developers of all levels.

To foster true decentralized and sustained collaboration we need to build an Open-Source On-Chain Practical Resume on ATALA Prism through our partnership with RootsID SSI Wallet to provide Proof of Reputation that helps people build and showcase their work history, credentials, projects, and contributions because it's our basic human right to control our money, data, and identity including our career.

We would like to implement a decentralized and immutable On-chain Practical Resume with full interoperability with ATALA Prism that functions as a composable NFT with write/update access whitelisted to approved and reputable organizations and associated wallet addresses voted on by the Practical Resume DAO as displaying reliable, secure, and best-practice forms of validation of practical experiences. Similar to a hub-spoke distribution paradigm, the On-Chain Practical Resume composable NFT serves as a decentralized hub and record, while Snapbrillia and DAO-approved practical experience validators and organizations (spokes) are permitted (smart contract; whitelisted wallet address) to write new metadata to the On-Chain Practical Resume composable NFT (hub), helping serve as a Proof of Reputation protocol that is difficult to fake or alter. To address the Proof of Identity issue, DAO-approved organizations and validators serve as reputable oracles assisting with manual identity and practical experience (pre-chain) verification for a reward, as part of a value chain of rewards derived from an initial bounty or quadratic funding sponsorship and grant.

Every user has complete ownership of their private On-Chain Practical Resume. Initially, only a Practical Resume registrant’s wallet address is whitelisted for reading access. Users are able to grant read access (smart contract) to requestors (viewers) whitelisting associated wallet addresses for read-only access. For example, a 3rd party viewer solution would like to query, parse, and display the metadata of an On-Chain Practical Resume NFT in a familiar format like a web interface or PDF file for use in a practical use case, e. g. job application.

> Credential fraud is becoming more common and is a major concern that affects educational institutions, employers, and potential employees. Recording and verification of achievements using blockchain technology have plenty of potential offers key advantages, including the potential to offer superior usability and efficiency compared to legacy systems. [4]

Here are some use cases of successful implementation of On-Chain Resumes outside of Cardano:

  • RabbitHole that recently raised $3.6m to build an on-chain practical resume
  • Zapper.fi offers on-chain practical resume in partnership with Immuni.fi recently raised $5.6m to provide bug bounties
  • Rezi.ai offers cryptographically-signed resumes
  • Bankless wrote: "I’ve seen people get hired based on their DegenScore or because they’ve got their proposal passed on-chain through active governance participation."

Snapbrillia provides an alternative for emerging developers to quickly get hands-on experience through a mentor-mentee eLearning marketplace of entry-level bounties, workshops, and hackathons. Our user research and startup journey have led us to Web3, Cardano, and the infinite possibilities that this platform and technology can provide to streamline and minimize bias in learning and hiring to guarantee more fair opportunities for all through open-source and blockchain. We are excited to share more about it with you.

Our solution is a decentralized eLearning platform that aims to support dev ecosystem adoption and increase collaborative contributions through Decentralized eLearning combined with an On-Chain Resume that encourages experts to collaborate and work with new developers through mentors and mentee teams. Together they can tackle development bounties and earn, not only money but also project and team leadership credentials. Whether through earning bounties or via building their On-Chain Resume everyone will be able to build their financial freedom, collaborate, and foster the adoption of Cardano blockchain technology by the broader developer community. Our On-Chain Resume will be completely open-source to accelerate Decentralized Identity and Decentralized Networking with ATALA Prism partnership.

With our No-code-setup Collaborative Cloud IDE that supports over 60 coding languages and frameworks but also Haskell, Plutus, and Marlowe, any new Cardano developers can pretty much say goodbye to these problems that they face when trying to set up their dev environments: "The hardest part of setting up the Plutus development environment is the current docs are not updated. You usually need to go dig a little deeper for some information. The repository they want us to clone and the terminal commands you have to run are outdated in the docs. The easiest environment to set Plutus upon would be using a Linux OS. It requires fewer steps than the others and is actually pretty intuitive. When you are using a Windows machine you would install WSL (Windows Subsystem Linux) and develop from there. There can be a lot of problems if you are using macOS with Apple silicon. You typically have to do more extra things than if you were to use macOS with the old intel chips because some tools are still not supported yet." - Snapbrillia Web3 Engineer

This also allows new developers to quickly and effectively join more development projects and build their Practical On-Chain Resume while also building the open web and growing the Cardano network and expanding its network effect in the broader dev ecosystem. [5]

Creating feedback loops is also important to help mentors improve their craft and propagate the network effect. We believe that many early Cardano adopters can quickly learn how to improve their craft from observing other mentors and with peer-mentor feedback. Like with pair programming, two people can more effectively work together not only to train mentees but also amplify each other to become effective evangelists of Cardano. We already considered this as part of the incentive loop between mentors and mentors. The solution is to allow multiple mentors to participate in learning workshops, hackathons, or bounty teams as supporters and observers with the goal of providing constructive mentor peer review and feedback while honing their art of mentoring. [6]

If we can execute well to build this eLearning platform, the Cardano dev community will immensely benefit from the eLearning market's massive growth to become a $1 Trillion industry by 2027 with 21.7% CARG. [7] Better access to opportunities, funding, and learning bring developers and entrepreneurs together to co-create.

Please see evidence for how implicit mentorship and industry expert involvement boosts efforts and the impact of the dev community and open source development. [8] [9]

We need resources including time, money, and additional helping hands and expertise in Plutus, Marlowe, and Prism to be able to execute this project effectively. To make this possible, Snapbrillia will have to further expand its No-code-setup Collaborative Cloud IDE that supports over 60 languages and frameworks including Haskel to also include Plutus and Marlowe.

Furthermore, we will have to create the DeFi marketplace on the blockchain for bounties and grants (smart contract and governance) and the decentralized eLearning user experience between mentors and mentees.

[AUDITABILITY]

The audibility of project development and impact is clear:

  • objective KPIs to measure its success

  • the project has been separated into stages to make it feasible

  • On-Chain Practical Resume and Credentials will be open-source on Github where everyone can clearly see and measure the progress and development of the project.

We will be hosting periodic community sync or demo days about our progress via Discord.

The success of this project is very clear:

  • to provide a Decentralized eLearning platform where mentors and mentees build and deliver the future of the open web and foster the next generations of contributors

  • to provide On-Chain Practical Resume and Credentials service for Decentralized Identity and Decentralized Networking and give everyone their human right to control of their money, data, and identity including their career history.

Snapbrillia's long-term goal is to build a platform that gets one million people into tech via open-source that otherwise wouldn’t break into tech at all.

This is an entirely new proposal that's connected with our other F8 proposal - Open Source Quadratic Voting and Funding: <https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/396834>
