Solution

Integrate RFID into the NFTPass app, to allow businesses that require gated access to implement Tokenised passes and open source it for wallets to use. examples include: Hospitals, Banks, Gyms, Trains

Problem:

Scanning tickets or passes manually isnt always an appropriate solution for gated access, some solutions require a one way verification mechanism

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Native mobile integration for RFID use with NFT tickets, Wallets and Dapps

This will enable a simple transmission of token credentials and payments to speed up the verification process and will enable easy integrations into different businesses and payment mechanisms

  • Develop wallet connector integration for mobile wallets

  • Secure api integration for different business models

  • Complete deployable white label solution package for business integration

  • RFID technology integrated into app

[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

Our solution will enable wallets to integrate mobile RFID solutions so blockchain wallets can be used like apple wallet or google pay for POS systems and other sales mechanisms. This will also include our access pass RFID solution.

The value this will bring to the Cardano ecosystem revolves around ease of use for real-world application and integration into existing infrastructure.

The solution will allow us as a business to target our solution towards business access passes, travel passes and more, as well as simplifying the ticket verification process for events such as music and sports. This solution will help us solidify Cardano as the go to blockchain for web3 integration at events and businesses for access passes, onboarding potentially millions of new users for these specific purposes, even without the need for them to know they are using blockchain technology.

The benefits of our open source development will enable wallets to easily integrate this technology and create a better UX for their products, making it much simpler for real-world adoption of Cardano as the blockchain standard.

[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

For our personal project it will be the release of the RFID feature in the app

For the open source community it will be the release of the open source tooling required for all wallets to integrate this into their own mobile wallets for the Cardano Community to use.

Specific KPIs we will track:

  • Number of companies using this function

  • Number of end users using this function

  • Number of industries using this function

  • Number of forks of our open-source repo for tooling

  • Number of wallets and other mobile applications using RFID for payments / services

[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

We will share the development process of our RFID solution, as well as tests, openly with the community.

As this is an open source proposal, the entire process will be open to the public for anyone to follow along with our progress.

For the open source community it will be the release of the open source tooling required for all wallets to integrate this into their own mobile wallets for the Cardano Community to use.

Our team will conduct monthly project update calls which we will publish as YouTube videos as well as monthly dev reports on Medium and our website.

This will include information of real-world tests conducted / project planning for the next milestones and more insight into the development journey for community members to track easily and even get involved in tests themselves

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

Our team has already built the alpha version of the NftPass app, from blockchain integration to ui development, we have experience in mobile development, blockchain tools and backend development.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The main goal is to release a fully open source RFID tool kit for mobile Cardano wallets to enable easy payments and transmission of data such as wallet addresses or asset information.

We will be validating the approach we take by frequently testing during development with an RFID testing kit as well as small scale tests with local businesses and Cardano events.

Quasar: Marketing & Sales

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

Developing this tool will enable all of the cardano community to use RFID tech instead of having to scan QRs back and forth. It will make sending, signing, validating and more, a much simpler process for users of the cardano community, and will make payment processing and wallet transactions capable of being used in the real world.

Developing this RFID technology and open sourcing it to the community will provide Cardano with an opportunity that no one else has or is working on. This will open the doors for mass adoption by businesses to provide secure access to their employees or customers. Our documentation and code will allow other wallets on Cardano to integrate this feature and help push it more mainstream.

For projects like NFTPass it will help them provide a more seamless user experience for transactions, and offer access pass type tools to businesses and company premises such as banks, hotels, gyms, transport and more

By offering many real-world examples of use case through our testing we will be able to provide businesses ample material to adequately consider using this as a new, safer and more simple solution to access passes for their workers/customers.
