Romanian - Cardano Developer Onboarding: Video Series

Please describe your proposed solution

I propose to create a comprehensive video series in Romanian that covers the fundamentals of Cardano blockchain development. The series will include tutorials, guides, and practical examples to help Romanian developers understand and start building on Cardano. By providing content in their native language, we aim to lower the barrier to entry and encourage more developers to join the Cardano ecosystem. The videos will be professionally produced and distributed freely on platforms like YouTube and local developer forums.

Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community

Increasing the number of Romanian developers in the Cardano ecosystem strengthens the community. By providing resources in Romanian, we will tap into a new pool of talent, leading to more projects, dApps, and contributions to the Cardano network.

I will measure impact through:

  • Number of video views and subscribers
  • Engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares)
  • Participation in Q&A sessions and webinars
  • Growth in Romanian developer contributions to Cardano projects

I will share our outputs freely online and engage with local developer communities to maximize reach.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

I am passionate about decentralized applications, blockchain technology, and functional programming (especially Haskell).

I've closely followed every Plutus Pioneer Program since its inception and graduated the Emurgo Academy's Cardano Solutions Architect program.

I have previously completed a project catalyst proposal for Development of a Cardano DApp and extensive documentation of each step along the way (Project ID 1000064) with a 1st version of this DApp..

What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

Milestone 1: Content Planning and Scripting

Objective: Finalize the curriculum and prepare scripts for the video series.

Tasks:

  1. Develop a detailed curriculum covering essential Cardano development topics.
  2. Prepare slides for each video episode, including visuals and examples.

Acceptance Criteria:

  1. A curriculum document at least 5 pages long, detailing the topics to be covered in each video (e.g., E-UTXO, Plutus, Native tokens).
  2. Slides for all video episodes reviewed and approved, with a section for each video that includes the outline, visuals, and examples.

Evidence:

  1. A link to the final curriculum (.pdf).
  2. A link to the slides (.ppt or .pdf).

Proposed curriculum :

Cardano General Introduction and Background

  • Understanding E-UTXO
  • Learn about native concepts, native tokens and scripts

Cardano Toolchain

  • Cardano CLI
  • Cardano Explorers
  • Native scripts : Design, develop and deploy Cardano Native Scripts

Overview of Cardano Builder Ecosystem

  • On-chain available languages
  • Off-chain available frameworks
  • Blockchain Service Providers and 3rd party APIs

On-chain Development : Plutus Deep Dive

  • Language and Smart Contract Tour
  • Typed, Untyped Validators and Advanced smart contracts

Off-chain Development: Atlas Framework Deep Dive

  • Operations over Contract
  • Unit Tests
  • Creating Endpoints
  • Browser integration

Milestone 2: Video Production (First Batch)

Objective: Produce and edit the first 5 videos.

Tasks:

  1. Record and edit the first batch of 5 videos.
  2. Integrate high-quality visuals and examples in the videos.

Acceptance Criteria:

  1. At least 5 fully edited videos, each covering a separate topic, with visuals and practical examples.
  2. Videos uploaded and available for review, including time stamps for each section.

Evidence:

  1. Links to the first 5 videos hosted on a platform (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
  2. A .pdf document summarizing video content and sections.

Milestone 3: Complete Video Series

Objective: Finalize and publish the entire video series.

Tasks:

  1. Record and edit the remaining videos in the series.
  2. Ensure that all planned content (according to the curriculum) is covered.

Acceptance Criteria:

  1. The complete series of at least 12 videos, uploaded and publicly available.
  2. A link to a playlist containing all videos for ease of navigation.

Evidence:

  1. Links to all published videos.
  2. Feedback summary from viewers or a report on engagement metrics (views, likes, comments).

Final Milestone: Project Closure

Objective: Close the project with a final report and communication activities.

Tasks:

  1. Create a final project report summarizing the outcomes, challenges, and metrics.
  2. Produce a short video summarizing the project’s achievements.
  3. Engage in marketing and communications to share the series with the community.

Acceptance Criteria:

  1. Final report uploaded, detailing metrics like video views
  2. A final project video published, summarizing the series and outcomes.

Evidence:

  1. Link to the project close-out report (.pdf or Google Docs).
  2. Link to the final project video.

Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Marius Georgescu :

  • Project Lead and Content Creator

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources

Content Development: ₳11,000

Video Production: Recording and editing: ₳11,000

Marketing and Promotion: ₳1,000

Miscellaneous Expenses and Tools licenses: ₳4,000

No dependencies.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

This project is a strategic investment in expanding the Cardano developer community within Romania. By allocating funds towards high-quality educational content, we are:

  • Fostering Innovation: Enabling a new group of developers to contribute to the ecosystem.
  • Maximizing Reach: Leveraging affordable production costs in Romania to produce professional content.
  • Long-term Benefits: Providing resources that will continue to educate and attract developers beyond the project's completion.

The budget aligns with industry standards in Romania, offering a cost-effective solution without compromising quality. This ensures that the Cardano community receives significant value for the investment, with potential returns in increased adoption and development within the ecosystem.
