Solution

Build an automated platform between pool operators and delegators looking to maximize profits and get potential tokens. Connecting the community of SPOs and token owners to distribute possible tokens

Problem

60% of SPOs have not had a chance to sign a block. It wastes resources and consumes significant amounts of electricity each year. We aim to build a platform to improve their block-signing abilities.

TADAStake - A Distribution Platform

Please describe your proposed solution.

Problem Statement: Our most recent research shows that out of more than 3000 active pools, over 60% of operating pools have not yet signed blocks. This causes a massive waste of resources. Every month that goes by wastes up to $2.3 million in infrastructure costs. This results in 1.7 GWh of wasted energy every year. This electricity consumption is enough to power 26,756 Nissan LEAF SL Plus 2022 cars.

Why: As more tools to support pool operation become simple, the number of pools run by individuals and small communities increases. In addition, the high price of ADA is also an obstacle that makes it difficult for pool operators to own enough ADA to maintain the ability to close blocks of the pool.

Solution: Understanding the difficulties that SPOs face, we have designed a system to connect and support small pools that have not been able to sign blocks to participate in the potential token distribution program that attracts the delegators community and sign the first blocks.

How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

Our platform allows small pools to participate in the system, from which delegators staking in these pools will receive potential tokens. Small pools are encouraged to set up their pools according to the internal instructions we provide to ensure that all settings are correct and that the operation does not encounter unfortunate errors.

How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

This proposal can be measured by

  • A product platform launch
  • Number of pools joining the platform
  • Number of token owners joining the platform
  • Number of blocks that the platform supports for small pools signed

Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

  • The source code is publicly updated via Github.
  • There are alpha and beta test versions to get feedback from users and improve.
  • Progress is updated via social media channels.
  • Full documentation is available via Gitbook.

What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

We are a team that has worked together on many projects and has been in the Cardano community for over 3 years. Our team establishes a commitment to work collaboratively by joining the Catalyst Fund to solve problems we consider to be contributing to the community. Please check more information about us in the Team Section.

What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

Goals:

  • A platform connects token owners, SPOs, and delegators.
  • Support small pools sign a first blocks
  • Distribute potential tokens from other products from Catalyst.

3 month milestones

  • Complete research of features
  • Develop and release the alpha testnet.
  • MVP with 1-3 new pools and private tokens

6 month milestones

  • Release the beta version.
  • Distribute potential tokens and community pools.
  • Onboarding with communities
  • Launch the documentation website.

Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

Milestone 1: Research and Planning (1 month)

  • Conduct research on the staking platform.
  • Do OKRs for the whole process.
  • Team allocation task

Milestone 2: Develop Platform and Test (4 months)

  • Build server API
  • Develop a user interface.
  • Testing product

Milestone 3: Prepare documentation and Launch (1 month)

  • Release documentation about the product
  • Deploy a platform in a production environment.
  • Partnership and Marketing

Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.

Milestone 1: Research and Planning (1 month)

  • Deliverables: Team OKRs
  • Outputs: Everyone on the team knows the workload that needs to be done.
  • Intended Outcomes: The project is clearly defined, with the scope of work and responsibility divided for each individual.

Milestone 2: Develop Platform and Test (4 months)

  • Deliverables: A fully functional product with a user-friendly interface
  • Outputs: Pool operators can join and initiate the staking and reward delegation processes.
  • Intended Outcomes: The system runs stably.

Milestone 3: Prepare documentation and Launch (1 month)

  • Deliverables: Full documentation for participating in the staking distribution system
  • Outputs: The platform is ready to serve a stable and secure number of pool operators.
  • Intended Outcomes: Expand and introduce products to the community through media channels and social networks.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.

How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

With this platform, we want to support the maximum number of small pools so they can sign the first blocks, helping maintain the Cardano network's decentralization. At the same time, it is also a launcher that allows small pools to operate themselves later.

  • A product on the mainnet supports small pools.
  • 10+ pools join the platform.
  • 10+ tokens distributed by platform
  • New features are updated in the future.
  • Documentation and Open Source
