We create school to train young people for free priori children (and girls) from scratch but also developers so that they master blockchain development and can build innovative applications on cardano

Problem:

Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

Africa lacks skilled blockchain developers. It necessity today to train developers to meet these challenges

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Africa is considered to be behind on almost all new technologies but not on blockchain and it can largely catch up by mastering this technology and enhancing it with high value-added applications.

New technologies have contributed enormously to the development of other continents, I believe that Blockchain technology will allow us to build an Africa like Wakanda.

It is urgent to learn and master the blockchain, we must not miss this train and the target is especially young people because they are the future and it is up to them to build this Wakanda. We have chosen to make these courses free so that they are accessible to all and allow even the poorest people to benefit from them. We are going to give skills to these young people but not that we are also going to instill them with Pan-African values so that the skills they will acquire can serve Africans and the whole world.

Our goal will be achieved when we see Africans from our training to develop innovative applications that will save millions of Africans.

In Senegal there is not yet a university or school that offers technical training on Blockchain. We will be initiators of this type of training and above all we will do it for free.

Cardano will be at the top of the blockchains that our students will be alumni on which will include that at the end of the training many of its students will develop applications on Cardano and allow its blockchain to grow.

TECH-E will mainly benefit Cardano but also our company which will gain notoriety and will be a reference in Senegal.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Training young people on Cardano can allow more Senegalese to master complex languages of smart contracts development on cardano and will allow our students to deploy applications on Cardano which will considerably advance the adoption of Cardano in Senegal and Africa

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Lack of technical resources, especially in French :

We had problems with training that we launched last year because the materials were in English and it was more complicated to do the training, especially cause official language in Senegal is French.

We will need technical support and support from experts who already master Cardano so that we can do the training.

But we are counting on support of large Cardano community, of our collaboration with WADA in order to translate all support into French.

Lack of financial resources :

Our courses will be free so we must also have a source of income to maintain the project on time and we will offer paid English courses to be able to have income that can support the expenses of the company and allow us to continue to do bockchain training for free.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Detailled plan

The project is spread over a period of 6 months

We are going to select 5 public schools: a primary school, 2 secondary schools and 2 high schools

Month 1: Prospecting for the loan of schools

Month 2: Student recruitment

Month 3: Recruitment test and layout of premises

Months 4, 5 and 6: launch of classes

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

We are asking is $45,000 and it is broken down as follows:

Rental of the premises for the 3 months of lessons: 1000

Bench table purchase: 100*$70 = $7,000

25 Computers: $250*10 = $6250

Other equipment (projector, board, sound system…): $10,000

Transportation costs: $600

Office equipment $1500

Marketing and Communication: 5000

Advertising: 1000

Internet: $40*3 = $120

Electricity: $150

Accommodation and catering for temporary teachers (for 3 months for 3 teachers who come from Dakar twice a week): $3600

Payment of teachers (5 teachers: 2 permanent and 3 temporary)

: 5000$

We inquired with teachers and on average they are paid between $300 and $350 per month to teach computer courses.

Refreshments for 150 students during the 3 month course: 2000

Miscellaneous/unforeseen 1780

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

Bineta NGOM: Blockchain project manager, entrepreneur, Blockchain crypto enthusiast. head of recruitment, marketing and communication at TECH-E

Twitter: @MamanBitcoin

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/%E2%82%BFineta-ngom-a3744b179/

Ousmane Ndome: Developer, youtuber.

He is responsible for training, in charge of recruiting teachers

youtube page:

<https://www.youtube.com/embed/c?start=/uthmandevsec>The other members of the team will be recruited progressively and according to the needs of the project.

We will recruit professors specializing in Algorithm, programming and Python and certainly experts on cardano who will be able to do smartcontrat development courses on cardano.

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Yes, we are thinking of coming back for another fund.

We wish to expand our project in order to reach as many young people as possible and we will necessarily need the financial support of Catalyst to continue to provide these courses for free and allow everyone to benefit from them.

We mainly target rural areas where the populations are poorer but where there is a lot of hidden talent and we need to find these young people in order to train them so that Africa and Cardano can benefit from their talents.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

We will recruit at the beginning 150 students at the beginning who will be divided between 3 classes of 50.

We had to do this type of training and with 40 students that we recruited 5 finished the training. This time we plan to land with 150 so we are going to adopt a new strategy which will be to involve the parents by having them sign contracts so that they understand the usefulness of letting the students come to the lessons.

An attendance list will be signed by the students at the entrance and exit of the course to determine at the end of each the number of students present and they will be excluded the students who will be absent from 3 consecutive courses without supporting documents. Yes the courses will be free but we will apply a rigor so that our efforts are not wasted.

Our system will be learning by doing and that's why we will need computers for the students. The students will very early do workshops to reflect in groups on projects that they will develop later. And we estimate at the end of the 3 months to have 10 projects that we could deploy on Cardano

We will create a Youtube page where we will share tutorials and courses and will share the KPIs of all our pages on social networks

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

At the end of these 3 months of training, we will increase the number of Blockchain developers so that they can in turn train other young people. Each of these students becomes a cardano ambassador and will attract more developers to Cardano will bring improvements to the blockchain

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

It is an entirely new proposal
