Solution

Create a DAO to ease the onboarding process by encouraging and helping people gather into teams applying for grants. By doing that, they can learn and get crypto exposure ( poor countries can't buy).

Problem:

The crypto industry onboarding can be overwhelming for most people. Access to grants is a great way to learn and experiment in this field. Most spanish speaker people don't know how to approach this

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Background

This proposal aims to create a decentralized autonomous organization to evolve the community around the podcast I host.

The objective of this learning space is to involve the most significant number of Spanish-speaking people in this new industry. After almost two years and 90 published episodes, the time has come to go one step further, promoting the active involvement of all members of this community who are willing.

The DAO

Creating a DAO is the best way to coordinate the talent of this community, generating an incentive system that promotes participation and rewards individual and collective contributions.

The DAO will catalyze efforts, learning, projects, and rewards.

Currently, the podcast is the schelling point of this community; the idea is that from now on, the schelling point will be the DAO.

Main DAO's Goals

  • Learning by implementing Projects: people will learn by doing, not just by listening to, reading crypto content, or using web3 protocols.
  • Create a community of Web3 entrepreneurs: The DAO will become a place to gather people that want to get involved and be players in this space.
  • Socialize wealth creation among DAO members: the DAO will accrue some of the value created by these teams and share it with the members.

The DAO will help, incentivize and coach teams to apply for Grants, develop the project and eventually scale it in case of success.

The DAO will be created by the first member under a basic White Paper that will stress the purpose of the DAO, a preliminary tokenomic and a few rules of governance.

Preliminary tokenomics:

Project Program 40%

Staking Program 15%

Core Team 15%

DAO Treasury 10%

Airdrop Initial Members 5%

Founders 5%

Grants 10%

The distribution will be gradual, according to a program of emission to be defined.

The most innovative aspect of this distribution is the Project Program. These tokens will be distributed to teams in exchange for a small % of grants awarded and for project tokens in case of success protocols.

The DAO will:

  • Use these funds from grants to finance its activities and grow and evolve.

  • Create a Treasury from project tokens to share value creation among DAO token holders.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Creating a DAO with the specific purpose of onboarding people "by doing" will bring committed people to this industry. In developing countries, such as Argentina, there is much talent, but the lack of vision, language gap, and the inner complexity of the crypto industry prevent them from getting involved. But once you show them the way, there is a lot of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop new ideas.

The podcast has shown me that. Many people write to me to tell me how helpful the information I provide is, and as soon as I throw an idea, everybody wants to participate.

After only two weeks of throwing the idea of this DAO, +70 people applied.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

1) One of the main risks is the lack of developers.

A way to mitigate this is to get in touch with developer's communities and invite them to be part of a project with a technical challenge.

I believe this project can bring the attention of many developers who want to get involved with crypto but do not have time for a full-time job or do not know where to start.

2) Another risk is the complexity of the projects

To mitigate this, we will coach the teams to match their skills with the challenges and help them fill the possible gap.

3) Irresponsible actions from the team

To mitigate this, the core team members will be involved with the projects as Project Managers and have access to multi-wallets to ensure funds are appropriately used.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

We may need an additional round. After that The project should fund its operatives cost through revenues. The main revenue of the project is a % of the grant awarded by the teams.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

KPIs by the end march 2023:

1) Number of Members: +300

2) Number of Teams: + 30

3) Number of Applied Grants: + 60

4) Number of awarded Grants: 50% effectiveness ( +30)

5) Number of Projects that can scale to become protocols: +5

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

By the end of 2023, we have onboarded more than + 1000 people in this industry and applied for more than +100 grants. We have 50 ongoing projects and five projects about to launch theirs on platform and tokens.

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This project is entirely new!
