For our POTM campaign, we plan to involve artists, gamers, and ADA holders to learn more about problems with wildlife in our oceans. They can do what they love to do and at the same time contribute and be part of the change.
All the involved people will have to benefit from this campaign and most important the wildlife in the oceans will benefit too. Winning artists will get prizes, gamers will get a new NFT card to play in our game World of Pirates, ADA holders can invest in our game, and in time they can get profits. Wildlife will be helped by professional organizations like WWF, Sea Shepherd, Little Fish DAO, and many more.
Our campaign is split into two parts:
- the art competition
- the NFT fundraising
For the art competition, artists from the gaming industry will be targeted to participate in the competition. We will form a panel of experienced artists to score the art competition. In addition, the community will be able to vote for their favorite art and a weighted score will decide the winner in the end.
With the winning illustration, an NFT will be created to be integrated into our game universe, where players can buy the new card to help the wildlife in our ocean and our game development. As always the revenue will be split 50% - 50% between the World of Pirates development and the project for which we are raising funds.
Being involved/participating in the campaign will make artists and gamers understand that blockchain games (games on-chain) can be more than a Ponzi scheme or can't damage the climate if the right blockchain is used. Like the Cardano blockchain & community, which promotes green energy nodes. Plus it is a POS (proof of stake) blockchain and not POW (proof of work), so it doesn't need the same amount of energy to work. We show all the gamers and artists that through our game, we are ready to take the next step and take action in helping the wildlife in the oceans and other sustainability projects.
Bringing more gamers and artists into the community and making them aware of the Cardano blockchain capabilities will fulfill the current Challenge (<u>Gamers On-Chain</u>).
We learned from our first campaign that the main risk and challenge is to don't invest too much in promoting our campaign. For our first campaign, we invested around $1,000 and we got around 10,000 social media engages, but from that, we had only 30 conversions, and the main conversions were from the blockchain world.
We saw that regular gamers and artists aren't interested in the blockchain world because they consider this either harmful for the environment or that the blockchain doesn't bring them any benefit. We want to change that and with our campaign and our new model to integrate gamers into our world, we are confident that we will attract new gamers and artists to our project.
In the past our prizes were between $100-$200 for the winner of the art competition, we plan now to raise the prizes to $1,500 for the first place and offer the next two places also prizes ($750 & $350). With this, we will create a worthy competition for the artists to invest time and try to compete. In addition, we plan to bring at least 3 renowned artists as judges to provide feedback and scoring for the competition in addition to the public/community voting.
Then we can promote our art competition to the gamers and let them see that some of their favorite artists are participating in creating the game art for our project.
