[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

BACKGROUND:

The dynamics and trends of today have shown an increase in global, multicultural and multi-lingual events and meetings. A research commissioned by Worldy and conducted by dimensional Research last year stated that “ an increasing number of meetings and events are reaching more global audiences: 77 percent of corporate meeting and event planners indicated that they have experienced an increase in multilingual attendees over the past year, and 72 percent of them expect the number to continue to grow next year. Despite these increase, lot of people and communtiies are still struggling adjusting to this new reality and are either not prepared or ready to adjust to it. The same report states that “even with these increases, 42 percent of planners still report that they have limited or no experience using interpretation and translation at their events, and only 33 percent report that they regularly offer interpretation.“

Of course, if there’s a community where this is better understood it is the blockchain communities, because of the distributed and decentralized nature of its communities. Language barriers pose a significant challenge to effective communication and inclusive participation within decentralized blockchain communities and Cardano being a decentralized community is likely facing this. This research proposal aims to investigate and develop multilingual engagement frameworks to address this problem, with a specific focus on the Cardano Catalyst community. By conducting a case study, we seek to understand the core issues, propose innovative solutions, and demonstrate the impact of implementing these frameworks. Through rigorous analysis, engagement with community members, and quantitative and qualitative data collection, we aim to contribute to the academic discourse on enhancing multilingual interactions within decentralized blockchain ecosystems using the Catalyst community as a case study.

As the adoption and global reach of blockchain technology continue to expand, and that of Cardano it becomes imperative to develop multilingual engagement frameworks that accommodate diverse participants with varying linguistic backgrounds. This proposal aims to delve into the problem of language barriers, focusing on the Cardano Catalyst community as a case study, and propose comprehensive solutions to enable more inclusive and efficient communication.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

The core problem at hand is the limited availability of robust multilingual engagement frameworks within decentralized blockchain communities, hindering effective communication and participation. This problem manifests during meetings, discussions, and collaborative activities where participants speak different languages, leading to reduced engagement, misunderstandings, and exclusion. Addressing this problem is crucial for fostering inclusive participation and harnessing the collective intelligence of diverse stakeholders.

METHODOLOGY:

  1. To tackle the language barrier problem, this research proposal suggests a systematic approach involving in-depth analysis, development of multilingual engagement frameworks, and rigorous evaluation of their effectiveness. The proposed steps include:
  • Conducting a comprehensive literature review to examine existing research on language barriers in decentralized blockchain communities.
  • Employing qualitative research methods, such as interviews and surveys, to identify the specific challenges faced by the Cardano Catalyst community regarding multilingual interactions.
  • Collaborating with language experts, community leaders, and participants to develop frameworks that facilitate effective communication and engagement across languages.
  • Implementing and testing these frameworks within the Cardano Catalyst community, collecting quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate their impact on communication, inclusivity, and participation.
  • Analyzing the findings and providing recommendations for further improvement and application of multilingual engagement frameworks in decentralized blockchain communities

BENEFIT OF THE RESEARCH STUDY:

The proposed research aims to demonstrate the tangible impact of implementing multilingual engagement frameworks within decentralized blockchain communities. By enabling effective communication and inclusive participation, these frameworks have the potential to enhance collaboration, knowledge sharing, and decision-making processes. The findings of this research will contribute to the academic understanding of multilingual interactions in decentralized ecosystems and provide practical guidance for community leaders, developers, and stakeholders seeking to foster inclusivity and overcome language barriers.
