Metahagane is a community-driven NFT Trading card game where players collect raw materials to craft tools and weapons in 3d rendered NFT objects. This game represents the first step in creating an open source platform to allow people to play, collect or create virtual items for use within the metaverse. Our aim is to provide the opportunity for players to create a community based on the creation and distribution of NFT gaming assets. Players can work to craft items which can then be sold within the marketplace, providing a play to earn environment from their creations.
Metahagane is a NFT trading game where players collect raw materials in the form of NFT's and use them to craft the materials required to forge weapons. This "proof of work" concept in conjunction with a fixed supply of raw material NFT's creates rarity and value to both the items and the players who create them.
The supply of the raw material NFT's is limited to each season. A season is a period of time where NFT's are available for purchase until sold out where by the game then becomes a match against players to craft the best weapon, or to withhold supply of raw materials in an attempt to extract a higher value moving towards the end of the season.
Players also have the opportunity to forge weapons and individually name them and add their own royalty to the NFT, ensuring that each time the item sells the creator is compensated.
Players rise through the ranks by forging weapons and storing them in their wallets to gain access to new crafting recipes. Staking these items in their wallets allows the player to create more complex recipes and thus allowing the crafter to attract a higher % royalty for all weapons created from their recipe.
The primary purpose of this dynamic is to allow the community to build and grow the arsenal available for crafting and provide a "Play to Earn" structure within the game. Changes can be made to each season with respect to the balance of items available during that season. More Charcoal or less Charcoal can have a direct impact on the game dynamics itself.
The game itself is simply one part of a growing universe creating all of the items and "crafters" to sustain an MMORPG within the metaverse. It starts with the blacksmith who creates the weapons and then another NFT game that creates the monsters, the potions, the armour, the sorcery, the storyline and so forth until all of the NFT elements exist with a community behind them that simply need to be inserted into a world. The choice then for the player becomes a matter of do I want to specialise in a craft or explore the realm as an adventurer discovering the rare materials for the crafters.
This relationship is symbiotic and leads to a truly decentralised gaming experience.
The outcome of this project will be tested live during Fund 8.
By having a test package operational for the duration of Fund 8 we aim to see how the community engages with the project and use this participation and feedback to gauge a successful outcome.

The game incorporates a range of features that will attract players to the project including, play to earn, crafting, collecting and marketplace trading. Our functional test platform will be live during Fund 8 to enable both proposers and voters to get a hands on feel for the game and suggest improvements for its success.
Number of gaming based applications building/built on Cardano
The number of NFT games on Cardano is limited and few, if any, have the crafting mechanism found in our game that allows players to build new NFT's and sell them into the marketplace. We see this as a major advantage for this project.
Amount of value made by gamers in play-to-earn applications
Each packet contains 7 NFT's sold for 7 ADA each, meaning that the minimum value of each NFT is 1 ADA. Some NFT's found in these packets are rarer than other NFT's thus improving their value in the marketplace. The weapons and tools collected in the game must be crafted from these raw consumables found in the packets and therefore have an even greater rarity and value within the marketplace.
Number of CNFTs made specifically for gaming
There are 8 consumable NFT cards and 19 crafted NFT cards within the first season of the game, for a total of 27 NFT's in the collection. The number of consumable cards minted within the first season is limited in time and not number. After the season expires the cards will be no longer available and the second season will commence with a new range of cards to craft and collect.
Number of fungible tokens made specifically for gaming
There is no fixed limit for the number of NFT's that can be bought or crafted within a season. Unlike most games in the Cardano, and blockchain gaming, ecosystem there is no token associated with this game. The value is derived solely from collecting and crafting NFT's.
There is only one challenge. Adoption.
We aim to use this fund and our operational test platform to gauge the support and adoption for this from the community who also seek to provide solutions within this space, for they are our harshest critics and our greatest source of improvement.

This project is essentially about building a world from the bottom up. Growing a community of Artists, Programmers, Players and Collectors one trade at a time with a full interconnectivity and the requirement for items over multiple trades when crafting new objects.
