This proposal was approved and funded by the Cardano Community via Project F7: New SPO Business Opportunities Catalyst funding round.

Detailed Plan

Milkomeda will initially start out with a set of 32 validators that we will have to train. Afterwards, through the Milkomeda DAO, validators can be added or removed. We welcome any SPO to apply to become a validator and we will spend time training them.

We plan to start training the initial batch of validators in December, but this will be a continuous training work as we expect interest in joining Milkomeda as a validator to grow overtime.

As Milkomeda uses ADA as the base asset, the growth and success of Milkomeda will benefit all ADA holders.

Milkomeda is a protocol to give EVM capability to Cardano through a sidechain with ADA as the base asset.

dcSpark is a crypto ecosystem builder company. We build critical infrastructure for promising crypto projects that we are passionate about such as Cardano. dcSpark was founded by three former EMURGO members who have been deeply involved in the Cardano ecosystem for years.

The project is currently in a slowdown phase. We are waiting for important changes to Milkomeda's bridge smart contracts. Until then, we are unable to implement the grant. In the near future, after updating the bridge contracts, we will resume work on the project.

During the Formal Verification Audit, we conduct weekly meetings and troubleshoot issues (such as TokenRegistry) with the auditors. We are also working on a new blog on what the Formal Verification Audit is and why it matters. We hope to publish it in the coming weeks.

The importance of security in the blockchain world cannot be understated. At Milkomeda, we place a high emphasis on ensuring the security of our systems and processes. In recent months, we have seen an increase in attempts by hackers to target blockchain interoperability systems, specifically blockchain bridges.

In response to this trend, we made the decision to conduct a thorough security audit of the Bridge contracts before moving forward with our plans. This decision was made in order to ensure the safety and integrity of our systems and to protect our users from potential security breaches.

We are pleased to report that we have recently completed a formal verification of the Solidity smart contracts on the Milkomeda side of the bridge. This extensive security review has allowed us to identify and address any potential vulnerabilities, ensuring that our systems are secure and ready for use.

With the security audit now complete, we are excited to move forward with our plans and continue working on this grant early next year.
