Detailed Plan
The Coalition of State Blockchain Associations emerged this year out of a desire to coordinate the advocacy efforts in Washington, Texas and California with other state and federal groups. We are forming a multistate coalition with advocates over 20 states joining monthly calls. We have an active slack channel and are been doing working to create an organization. Our goals are to help blockchain advocates create functional state-level advocacy orgs with coordinated and effective strategy to build support for pro-blockchain and crypto policies nationally.
We'd like to provide the following deliverables:
-Annual blockchain policy summit (First one Summer 2022!)
-Legislative Drafts and Draft review
-Talking Points for both Democrats and Republicans
-Playbook for advocates creating a state organization for advocacy
Our work will benefit crypto ecosystems including Cardano users and entrepreneurs. We are asking Project Catalyst to join as a founding member to help us: engage and educate politicians, defend against pernicious legislation, support and advance favorable regulations, and build expertise among blockchain and crypto advocates nationally.

Success Timeline:
3 months-
- form the organization, possibly as a DAO and establish web/social media presence
6 months-
- Release Talking Points for both parties for member organizations to use.
- Begin Playbook.
- Plan for annual policy summit. Founding members (hopefully Project Catalyst) will all be invited.
12 months-
- Host Policy Summit
- Publish Playbook
- Help create 3 more state level organizations
Budget-
We are asking for $20,000 for Project Catalyst to join as a founding member. We are asking a variety of large blockchain businesses and ecosystems to join and support the effort. Our fundraising goal for year one is $250,000. Funds will be used for:
-Organization set up, including legal for DAO formation
-Research and design for Talking Points and Playbook. We'd like to create professional materials for advocates across all 50 states to have access to. These will all be published for use in the broader ecosystem- the goal is to share knowledge and win together.
-Hosting the summit- we'd love for this to be an in person event where advocates can learn from eachother and we can bring in industry experts to lead discussions.
-If we do a really good job of fundraising: Part time director (if possible) to help grow this organization. So far this has been an entirely volunteer-led effort.
