Please describe your proposed solution.

Our proposal is to create a custom version of our threat detection software to discover organized attacks against Cardano before they occur. This software has a proprietary method to scan the dark and deep web to uncover malicious chatter directed against specific targets. We also propose utilizing our network of hackers to monitor the dark and deep web for potential attacks.

Please describe how your proposed solution will address the challenge?

We are addressing the challenge by proposing a great idea that offers a valuable service to the community.

What main challenges or risks do you foresee to deliver this project successfully?

A major challenge that we foresee is successfully alerting the broader Cardano community when an attack has been discovered. Our solution is to build a dedicated website to track potential and historical threats and then alerting the community via social media channels when a threat is imminent.

[FEASIBILITY]

Please provide a detailed plan and timeline for delivering the solution.

Timeline

After 3 Months - Our hacking network has been retrained to monitor the Cardano ecosystem and we have deployed an updated version of Threat Scanner. After 6 Months - We are uncovering potential attacks and surfacing them to the Cardano community. After 12 Months - We have proven the value of our service to Cardano and we are exploring ways to expand our partnership.

Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

Line Item Budget

Hacking Network ($20,000) - We will provide the members of our hacking network with a monthly stipend of $500 to monitor for attacks. We have regular check-ins to review their activities and determine if the relationship should continue. In addition, we offer performance bonuses of up to $1,000 for hackers who uncover potential attacks and alert us. Software Updates, Maintenance, and Monitoring ($12,000) - We require funds to pay our engineers to update Threat Scanner to monitor for attacks against Cardano. They will also be tasked with reporting threats to the Cardano community. We pay our engineers $40 an hour and anticipate this will require 300 hours of work over the year. Hosting and Server Costs ($1,000) - These funds will be used to help pay our server costs and application hosting.

Please provide details of your team members required to complete the project.

Our team members and network of hackers prefer to remain anonymous due to the secure nature of our work.

[AUDITABILITY]

Please describe how you will measure the progress and the development of the project?

Quantitative metrics will be difficult to use to measure the success of this project because it is hard to anticipate the volume or nature of the threats that our system will uncover. The best method to track our progress will be following the reports that we will post on our website as we seek to uncover potential attack vectors.

What does success for this project look like?

Success for this project includes re-training our hackers to monitor the Cardano network, launching a new website to surface threats that we have detected, developing a custom version of our threat detection software, and uncovering potential attacks on Cardano before they occur.

Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This is a new proposal but it was first proposed here.
