Detailed Plan

This project represents a first step in introducing the Cardano blockchain in Sudan and eventually leveraging the Cardano blockchain in addressing different challenges facing communities throughout the country. This initial introduction will be achieved by achieving two outcomes. A first outcome will result in a large segment of the Sudanese public acquiring access to information in Arabic about Cardano. A second outcome will see the formation of a Cardano Sudan community which will also be part of the global Cadano community.

Specific outputs that will be pursued to achieve these two outcomes include –

1. Materials and information about Cardano is Arabized and contextualized to the Sudanese context
2. One (1) communication campaign promoting awareness and education on the Cardano blockchain is implemented
3. Designing a one-day (4 - 6 Hr) introductory course on the Cardano blockchain;
4. Enrolling 18 – 20 Cardano blockchain enthusiasts and delivering the Cardano Blockchain Introductory course in Arabic

Activities that will be carried out include –

1. Carefully selecting and curating sets of information about Cardano to be used for awareness raising
2. Translating and producing Arabic versions of the information on the CArdano blockchain
3. Designing and developing a Cardano Sudan educational/information campaign
4. Implementing the Cardano Sudan campaign
5. Together with the WADA designing an introductory course on Cardano
6. Working with 2 to 3 Sudanese Cardano enthusiasts and training them on the delivery of the Cardano introductory course (in both Arabic and English)
7. Running 4 instances of the Cardano blockchain introductory course with the participation of a total of 15 – 20 Cardano enthusiasts

Performance indicators

The Cardano Sudan educational/information campaign will use different formats to achieve its objectives of having Cardano and blockchain known amongst a large number of Sudanese and will include (i) production of an animation about Cardano in Arabic; (ii) production of a flyer to be advertised on newspapers and social media platforms that conveys information about Cardano; and a press/launch event targeting different audiences (students, fintech companies, government). Through these different formats the campaign will reach an audience of no less than 20,000 persons.

The training/introductory course on Cardano will enroll and be delivered to a maximum of 20 individuals who will receive a certificate recognizing their participation in the course. At the end of the course participants will also be required to open a Daedulus wallet and deposit a minimum amount of ADA equivalent to 20 USD. For each successful deposit Cardano Sudan will make a contribution of 50 USD in ADA.

Budget

An approximate and preliminary budget of 9,900 USD is required for the completion of the awareness raising campaign. Costs include -

• Translation costs – 1500 USD
• Production of materials and implementation of the education/information campaign – 5000 USD
• Delivery costs of the introductory course on Cardano - 2200
• ADA contributions towards wallets being opened – 1000 USD
• Other costs – 200 USD.

Timeline

• Implementation will take 3 months from the date of the award being made.
• Monitor, follow-up and share learnings (4 months to 1 year)
