Solution

Detailed Plan

Cardano Catalyst is a powerful platform that, being decentralized, naturally does not come out-of-the-box with a venue for orienting around the deeper issues that Cardano can be organized and synchronized to address. This proposal aims to create community events to hold open discussions and to ask and orient on how the Cardano community can consciously collaborate to bring forward Cardano Catalyst proposals that address burning global issues, including:

 • Climate change
 • Runaway AI / AI ethics
 • Poverty
 • Inequity
 • Human trafficking
 • Etc.

For community support, we have help from World Systems Solutions (WSS), a premier meta-organization designed to facilitate learning and understanding around issues of global existential risk and to foster conscious collaboration of emergent solutions around these topics. WSS are experts in human learning and learning paradigms, both the ones that result in compounded global negative dynamics as well as those necessary to achieve true conscious collaboration and positive outcomes.

Definitions of success:

We will work with community advisors and veteran advisors to generate emergent holistic thinking around these topics. We will have a string of at least 12 weekly meetings that spiral understanding and conscious collaboration, with additional break-out sub-team meetings that spawn form the 12 core inclusive meetings.

Part of the aim will be the intrinsic reward of understanding and increased collaborative capacity of the participants. The other part of the aim will be to generate quality proposals that generate projects that are implemented to completion.

Depending on available funds, community facilitation (i.e. continued meetings/support) will continue at regular intervals for funded proposals throughout their implementation period. If this is not possible due to lack of funds, we will request another Catalyst round to continue supporting the community beyond the 3 months. This will demonstrate our intention and capacity to scale.

Roadmap:

MONTH 1:

- Promotion to community via social media and regular Cardano community gatherings;
- Community facilitation meetings begin.

MONTH 2:
- Community facilitation ongoing;
- Proposal ideas beginning to form.

MONTH 3:
- Community facilitation ongoing;
- Proposals produced.

Definitions of success & KPIs/metrics will include:

 • At least 12 meetings (1 meeting per week for 3 months) - this is our primary milestone and deliverable;
 • Generated catalyst proposals around existential risk issues (as per above);
 • Establishment of flexible working groups/sub-teams with focal topics;
 • Increased number of proposals that have multiple Cardano community members as co-proposers;
 • Increased number of quality proposals (4-5 stars) (3 months)
 • Increased number of implemented proposals (6 & 12 months)
 • Attracted new members to the Cardano community interested in collaborating on these issues.

It is difficult to make figures around these metrics at this time. After this first Challenge is completed, we will have a clearer of the numbers associated with success and thus be potentially able to offer figures in future proposals.

These community events will be open to Cardano community members, advisors, and new members, with the aim of making Cardano a destination for collaborating to co-create solutions to the world's biggest problems. Solutions that make the world more hospitable, nurturing, and supportive for our children, future generations, and cutting-edge holistic technologies that are applied in a variety of ways in the world.

Risk mitigation:

The main risk we can foresee is that community participation in this process is not as much as we would have hoped. We will mitigate this via social media campaigning and outreach via various avenues to the Cardano community. It may be that not all Cardano community members wish to create proposals that address beneficial aims. We accept this reality, will do our best to encourage beneficial projects, and will also allow all community members to engage with our facilitation program, not only those who wish to create beneficial projects.

The second risk is that we attract a larger amount of people than we could have imagined, which would hypothetically strain our resources for community facilitation. Our weekly meetings are all-inclusive. They aim to deliver all the necessary material to as large a number of people as possible. Additional support is offered on a case-by-case basis. Sub-teams and breakouts can form organically, and every week, the major issues are expertly addressed.

Budget

The primary expense is the time and expertise of the facilitators and educators.

 • At least 12 meetings of 3 hours each, with 2 hours of prep each and possible contingent support for sub-teams: $30,000 ($2,500 x 12 weeks)

TOTAL: $30,000

Gabriel Axel Montes, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist, consciousness educator, leadership coach, and facilitator of personal and organizational development and transformation.

Drawing from over a decade of neuroscience and consciousness research and experience as a facilitator, Gabriel taps latent human capability to optimize processes and unlock value from existing resources and human capital. He works to address today's global complexities and risks through the application of practicable neuroscience- and psychology-informed models and tools that elucidate the subtle habitual patterns at the root of inefficiencies. In his work, Gabriel promotes and teaches meta-learning—the capacity of "learning to learn", adapt, grow, change, and collaborate— to maximize human capability during organizational change.

Gabriel helps organizations synergize the relationship between human capital and technology implementation during digital transformation. He has worked with SingularityNET, the world's premier decentralized A(G)I organization, first by participating in the management of the initial $36 million fundraise as part of the launch team, and more recently he served as Head of People/HR, leading a doubling of staff count during a rapid growth phase and facilitating organizational development, collaboration, and well-being among its staff. Gabriel has conducted research in various subfields of neuroscience and published seminal work on the crucial role of neuroscience and consciousness in the design and ethics of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and virtual and augmented reality technologies.

Gabriel is bilingual (English & Spanish), an author, and an international speaker for diverse audiences on the intersection of consciousness, technology, and human culture, working and presenting at Harvard, Stanford, among various universities. Gabriel is a long-time mind-body/consciousness practitioner and instructor, eclectic experimental musician, and world traveler. For more information, visit neuralaxis.org.
