Solution

Build an automated platform between pool operators and delegators looking to maximize profits and get potential tokens. Connecting the community of SPOs and token owners to distribute possible tokens

Problem:

60% of SPOs have not had a chance to sign a block. This issue wastes resources and consumes significant amounts of electricity yearly. We aim to build a platform to improve their block signing ability

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Problem Statement: Our most recent research shows that out of more than 3000 active pools, over 60% of operating pools have not yet signed blocks. This causes a massive waste of resources. Every month that goes by wastes up to $2.3M in infrastructure costs. This results in 1.7GWh of wasted energy every year. This electricity consumption is enough to power 26,756 NISSAN LEAF SL Plus 2022 cars

Why: As more tools to support pool operation become simple, the number of pools run by individuals and small communities increases. In addition, the high price of ADA is also an obstacle that makes it difficult for pool operators to own enough ADA to maintain the ability to close blocks of the pool.

Solution: Understanding the difficulties that SPOs face, we have designed a system to connect and support small pools that have not been able to sign blocks to participate in the potential token distribution program that attracts the delegators community and sign the first blocks

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Our platform allows small pools to participate in the system, from which delegators staking in these pools will receive potential tokens. Small pools are encouraged to set up their pools according to the internal instructions we provide to ensure that all settings are correct so that the operation does not encounter unfortunate errors.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

The considerable risk and challenge we realize is the relatively large number of small pools, accounting for more than 1800 pools. We hope to support these pools as much as possible, but it will require a lot of community resources and extensive cooperation from the parties.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Goals:

  • A platform connect token owners, SPOs, and delegators
  • Support small pools sign a first blocks
  • Distribute potential tokens from other products from Catalyst

3 months milestones

  • Complete research of features
  • Develop and release alpha testnet
  • MVP with 1-3 new pools and private token

6 months milestones

  • Release beta version

  • Distribute potential tokens and community pools

  • Onboarding with communities

  • Launch documentation website

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

The scope of work in implementing during 6 months

Team Function Months People Salary Total

1 Technical Project Lead 6 1 $4,000 $24,000

2 Backend Development 6 2 $3,000 $36,000

3 Security Engineering 6 1 $6,000 $36,000

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

If we are sponsored, we will return to the catalyst in the next round to have more funding for products that support the ecosystem.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

This proposal can measure by

  • A product platform

  • Number of pools join platform

  • Number of token owners join platform

  • Number of block that platform support small pools signed

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

With this platform, we want to support the maximum of small pools so they can sign the first blocks, helping maintain the Cardano network's decentralization. At the same time, it is also a launcher that allows small pools can operate themselves later

  • A product mainnet

  • 10+ pools join platform

  • 10+ tokens ditribute by platform

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This proposal is an entirely new project
