We are Bitcoin Bay, a cryptocurrency community originally from Toronto, but also organize meetup communities around the world.
Summary
We propose the founding of a new Cardano Community Hub in Buenos Aires. This will be its own independent organization, but gain the support of Bitcoin Bay and other Cardano communities.
The Buenos Aires hub will host bi-weekly Spanish language events, including community gatherings and educational workshops. At first these may be online events due to pandemic restrictions, but they will become in-person as soon as restrictions are lifted. Our contacts in Buenos Aires will be able to host them in person, given some incentive.
In addition we will create local community whatsapp and telegram groups to enable community members to stay in touch. (Whatsapp is popular in Argentina).
We are looking for suggestions on how to connect this hub with the wider Cardano Community.
Budget
$3000 - Meetup Logistics, Venue costs, food etc.
$4500 - Salary for local event organizers and workshop givers
$2000 - ADA airdrops for the Buenos Aires community
Goals
- Introduce new users to cardano
- Provide a space for Cardano enthusiasts to find each other
- connect Buenos Aires Talent to Cardano Community (especially developer)
- provide quality educational workshops
- Drive adoption of Cardano apps
- provide on the ground fact finding, how is Cardano actually being used?
- Hold 26 successful events in 1 year’s time.
What success looks like
0-3 months
- Hold bi-weekly events, growing to 30+ people per event
- Create 15 new Cardano holders per event
3-6 months
- Hold bi-weekly events, growing to 60+ people per event
- Create 30 new Cardano holders per event
- Secure additional sponsorship
6-12 months
- Hold bi-weekly events, growing to 100+ people per event
- Create 50 new Cardano holders per event
- Secure additional sponsorship
- With enough funding, secure a permanent physical location for the hub
We aim to host 26 successful events in 1 year’s time. Following that, the success of the hub may depend on additional sponsorship.
