Detailed Plan

After building our own NFT game - Duo - we discovered that using the available NFT APIs left us spending hours in Discord trying to get support after hours of reading half written documentation along with still ending up without any logic layers to run the mint sequences we wanted.

Revelar is the first NFT Game Engine on Cardano and will bring gaming specific tooling for game developers / teams to spend their time on the game, not integrating it with Cardano.

This proposal covers the game asset minting logic within the Revelar NFT Game Engine v1. As game makers ourselves we found that we needed logic layers to validate wallet contents, lay groundwork for DID's in gaming, create item upgrade logic parameters, tie in off chain data for minting events, along with an extended wishlist!

V1 of this minting engine logic will expand a traditional minting service, specifically for gaming with:

- wallet content validator and logic flows during mint (Policy ID, qty, time held, etc)

- create off-chain data triggers & events to enable minting dynamically

- embeddable buttons for minting connected to the logic layers

- full minting webapp with this logic on Revelar.co

Measurables (Auditability)

As defined by the challenge, our goal is to focus on three key metrics over a 3, 6, 12 month period for the Revelar Game engine's impact on Cardano NFT games.

Number of unique projects that use this website (targeting non-developers)

Number of assets created through our generator be minted as a CNFT for gaming & % that end up being minted.

Mint day value (ADA) of CNFT's that contain assets created by our generator.

Our 3 month goal after v1 of the website is live is 5 projects with > 10,000 assets each.

Our 6 month goal is 10 projects with > 10,000 assets each.

Our 12 month goal is 25 projects with > 10,000 assets each

If we reach our minimum 6 month goal of 10 projects with 1000 assets each, at an average price of 30ADA per asset we can create (10*10,000*30) = 300,000ADA in value for indie games/artists, create 60,000 Assets, help onboard thousands of gamers, and bring a foundation to managing assets during and post launch.

Development Timeline (Audibility)

- March 1st 22' (Sprint 1): Frontend UI/UX design begins

- Weeks 3 & 4 (Sprint 2): Backend logic integrated with final UI/UX design, test web app with backend cloud services.

- Weeks 5 & 6 (Sprint 3): Dev load testing of web app and final tweaks to logic layers

- May 22' (Sprint 4): Full integration with all Revelar services

Public delivery by: May 13th, 2022

Costs & Use of Funds (Auditability)

The funds used in the development of this webapp will be used to (partially) pay developers. We will be paying all cloud service costs out of pocket. Since this will ultimately be a commercialized service for developers, Revelar will provide the equivalent of USD value in credits to artists / projects who use the Revelar Game Engine on a first-come-first serve basis (cap per project). This will extend the Catalyst Fund value to projects (verifiable with our JSON metadata in NFTs created from our platform) far beyond this initial investment.

Development hours: 250 (2 devs each contributing ~16 hrs each week for 8 weeks)

This ends up being $34/hr to the developers, the rest of their rate will be covered by Revelar.
