Cross-chain validation of Proton KYC identity with Atala Prism.

Minting non-transferable NFT/badges to affirm identity credentials, KYC ID with Atala

prism. Enables proof of humanity KYC solutions.

Problem:

Atala Prism—coupled with Roots ID—could benefit from a number of proof of humanity KYC solutions that add to a self-sovereign identity and enable true democracy (one person / one vote) within Cardano

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Assigning a Proton Account to a Cardano Address

Sync it to Roots ID

Run a process to verify this and mint a unique NFT Badge as a Cardano native asset

The solution will use WAL-CLI to generate/issue/send/verify/manage/revoke Proof of Humanity KYC verifiable credentials. And the solution will be using the RootsWallet to send/receive/store/verify/manage/search/display Proof of Humanity KYC verifiable credentials from mobile devices.

The team will collaborate to make these functions as user-friendly and as consistent as possible across the two environments.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Provide a tangible implementation of cross-chain collaboration.

Introduce a standard mechanism for KYC verification on Cardano by

cross-chain leveraging Proton’s KYC process with Atala Prism.

Proof of concept for other chains to cross-chain integrate with the Cardano ecosystem (e.g. EOSIO)

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Risk 1: Cross-chain implementation challenges -

Mitigation 1: Utilising Freeos’ existing knowledge and expertise and proof of concepts.

Risk 2: Possible technical incompatibilities with different KYC formats -

Mitigation 2: Lance Byrd specialises in decentralised solutions to these problems with Atala Prism.

Risk 3: KYC process is centralised -

Mitigation 3: wrap Proton’s KYC process in Atala Prism.

Risk 4: KYC has a tendency to become just another product -

Mitigation 4: using Atala Prism helps preserve KYC credentials from becoming another product.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Timeline: 3 months

Plan: 2-week sprints to complete the Milestones budgeting the following hours:

Milestone1: Design and architecture for the product to ensure that we provide the optimal solution, that enables proof of humanity KYC on Cardano: 15 hours

Milestone 2: Transport an individual’s Proton KYC status to Atala prism, using Roots ID as the entry point: 80 hours

Milestone 3: Create an online server, and write a process to maintain the KYC data to be transported: 40 hours

Milestone 4: Create data tables on Proton to format, manage, store, and deliver the KYC verification status data: 30 hours

Milestone 5: Develop the front end user interface: 30 hours

Milestone 6: Create a template for minting unique NFT Badges as Cardano native assets: 30 hours

Milestone 7: Testing each process to ensure it operates consistently as designed: 100 hours

Milestone 8: Project management using Clickup www.clickup.com - leading the 2-weekly sprint meetings and daily standups. To ensure timely and quality delivery of all Milestones: 40 hours

Milestone 9: Product management: ensuring that the product we deliver solves the problem of the user enabling proof of humanity KYC solutions (and one-person one-vote) on Cardano: 25 hours

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

Detailed Budget breakdown:

US Team @ $100 USD / hour

NZ Team @ $90 USD / hour

15 hours @ $90 Milestone 1: Design and architecture for the product for optimal solution

80 hours @ $100 Milestone 2: Transport Proton KYC to Atala prism through Roots ID

40 hours @ $90 Milestone 3: Create online server and write a process to maintain our KYC data

30 hours @ $90 Milestone 4:Create data tables on Proton

30 hours @ $90 Milestone 5:Develop the front end user interface

30 hours @ $100 Milestone 6:Create the template for minting NFT Badge on Cardano

100 hours @ $90 Milestone 7: Testing each process

40 hours @ $90 Milestone 8: Project management to ensure timely and quality delivery

25 hours @ $90 Milestone 9: Product management to ensure we provide the optimal proof of humanity solution for the users

(For more detailed calculations see uploaded spreadsheet)

110 hours @ $100 / hour = $11,000 USD

280 hours @ $90 / hour = $25,200 USD

TOTAL: $36,200 USD

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.
