Executive Summary

Africans do not understand investment types that are not based on familiar economic activities. Wise Rabbit addresses that problem by creating a livestock-based wallet which is a normal farming practice and already a very popular, low input, and quick return on investment.

Africa's farmers also suffer from a lack of liquidity and investment due to an unstable, inflationary currency which is resulting in poor food security and low growth opportunities.

Inflation in Zimbabwe, our pilot project country, is at 56% which erodes any bank savings by farmers and also causes high-interest rates from banks.

It's impossible to create a valuable community business in this environment unless the trend is arrested by a stable, accepted store of value. Livestock is something Africa understands well and is good at animal husbandry.

Creating a livestock smart contract will immediately solve the financing of farm activities while driving the adoption of the Cardano network as a reliable store of value. All grant funding will be used to create a form of ADA agri-coin to drive the food security value chain and ecosystem.

Wise Rabbit is a one farm, one manager, several decentralized members, crowd-farming model.

Our Solution

Create the digitally tokenized Wise Rabbit farm.
Employ one manager, one payroll for staff, and crowd-farm with the investment of 4000 ADA virtual farmers.
Capitalize the token from the natural evolution of the rabbit herd, with one rabbit parent capable of producing 48 new rabbits each year in a linear calculation.
Option to re-breed offspring for further growth of rabbit herd.
Wise Rabbit ADA wallets to become the token for investment and sale of rabbit meat for profit.

Qualifications

Sacha Robinson (proposer)

Founded a crowd-farm investment concept in Zimbabwe, in 2020, which began life with 30 pigs and it has grown to 600 pigs with plans to scale up to 5400 pigs in the new year.
200 virtual farmers, from 7 different countries, subscribed to Dung Beetle Farms Trust and raised the seed capital to begin a piggery farm.
All investors have access to the farm for verification and observation of processes and receive weekly video and WhatsApp updates and electronic statements for their monthly payments.
Wise Rabbit anticipates the same investors will be keen to take up an ADA wallet especially as some of them are based in the USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, Bermuda, Australia where BLC knowledge has taken root.
Current Dung Beetle Farms Trust staff under their manager's guidance are skilled in animal husbandry and will be further trained on rabbit production too.

Anthony, the creator of CheCha (the ka-chink sound that change makes inside a piggy bank) will be the technical lead for Wise Rabbit and his proposed ADA currency voucher system will have great synergy value to Wise Rabbit's wallet adoption.

Statement of Need

Wise Rabbit ADA allows wallet holders to share Wise Rabbit farm profit and buy investments.
Wise Rabbit token aims to drive the ADA wallet user adoption across regular people, virtual farmers, investors through the intuitive and seamless integration achievable by the decentralized payments platform.

For every Wise Rabbit token issued there is a rabbit doe backing it and its natural evolution and expansion through an average of 48 offspring (and more) every 12 months.

Challenges

Regulatory Environment - Current government stance on blockchain will be a potential threat
Tech-challenged farmers will potentially slow the adoption of digitalized assets until they understand it.
Decentralized operations of any business will always be viewed with initial suspicion.
Auditability will be met with friction by farm staff and management as we migrate to a blockchain.

Risks and Challenge Mitigation

The government will be engaged and shown advantages and alignment to their own goals towards increasing inflows of foreign direct investment. It should be an easy sell after the recently publicized framework for foreign-based investment.
Tech capabilities will be enhanced through training. Africa's majority is already smartphone savvy and usage in Zimbabwe is already at 96%. Re-training to blockchain and digital tokens will be expected to be easy.
Tokenization benefits are desirable and possibly the only viable option to change farmer's fortunes in a country where bank loans are non-existent. Decentralization will therefore be well received after training workshops.
Random audits will come to be accepted for their value and continued assurance of investors. Management and staff will therefore get used to the audits as well as their indispensable need. Training will be given to show the bigger picture and existing world examples of the benefits of a tokenized business.
