Solution

A platform for projects to drive and reward community engagement across social media.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

Evangelist mode will help project owners and social media managers incentivize their community to engage with targeted social media posts. Whether that's coming from the main account, following specific hashtags or keywords, or when another account posts.

The beautiful thing is that Mainline is able to track all the engagement and automatically give points to Evangelists when they engage. Which means you won't have to keep a spreadsheet of posts and cross reference all the evangelists who are supposed to be engaging.

As you do your normal research with Mainline you can add those streams to the Evangelist list and they'll automatically update for your users to engage with. This also helps make sure posts don't get lost in a TG or Discord chat because someone was sleeping or being a real person. There will be an announcement section as well that allows you to prioritize certain posts and keep them pinned to the top. We plan to offer desktop notifications for announcements too.

The project would stake their own native token and/or ADA if they haven't launched yet. Current thoughts are to make it like a campaign– project stakes x tokens for t period, y participants can claim a piece of pool based on performance/results set by the community admin in the campaign setup.

The front end for the dApp would be a campaign creator wizard. Where they stake their tokens, set up the criteria for activity/rewards, invite participants, and set the community as public or private. Private is invite only, for evangelist communities that are handpicked already. Public allows anyone to come in and start participating for rewards (this will be a v2 feature).

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

  • Single source of truth for evangelists to promote for communities and for community admins

  • Easy trackability for community admins to know who’s pulling their weight and who needs to be cut

  • Auto rewards to make it easy for everyone to agree a priori then have everything– awards, distros, etc – happen automatically

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Very few. The underlying platform has been in development for a year, our product is usable and in open alpha now. The platform was designed to modular, with many different modes in our backlog over the next year. Evangelist mode is what we're prioritizing now to enable high quality projects on Cardano to stand out amidst the noise in this down market.

The primary concern is finding a trustworthy expert to help us build a Cardano-native staking and rewards mechanism so projects can use their native tokens to reward their community.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

We're actively in development of Evangelist mode now.

Phase 1 - 1 month - verifying feature sets with community managers

Phase 2 - 1 month - buildout of MVP

Phase 3 - 1 month - in-market trials with select Cardano projects

Phase 4 - Open launch to all community members

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown.

Funding will go towards Plutus smart contract development as well as front-end dApp for campaign creation and staking project tokens.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide details of the people who will work on the project.

We have front-end, back-end, creative, and dev ops on staff.

We need to find a dev/group of devs with Plutus expertise for smart contract development

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Yes. We believe that many aspects of our platform will be incredibly useful to the Cardano community, and we see tremendous value. When we return to catalyst it will be to fund more useful open-source tools for the entire community to use.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

  • Number of projects onboarded

  • Number of evangelists onboarded

  • Growth of community evangelist activity over time in engagement and relevance metrics

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

Success is having a Cardano native reward system that facilitates easy community building and coordination for ADA projects and a strong uptake in the Cardano community for using the tool to maximize their community engagement.

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

Phases: Design > Architecture > Build > Live Account engagement monitoring: Architecture complete > Now Building Progress on the backend infra to support this.

  • Next steps are adding the widget that automatically tracks the project account’s engagement separate from other users in the list. (See evidence)

Flags any kind of coordinated activity, IE, if multiple accounts are replying or quote tweeting with the same message: Build Phase -You can now see coordinated % on all activity on an engagement audit. This ties in to the rewarding of community members for being an evangelist. This is a way to prove when a community member is paying for or forcing engagement. If they have a high coordination %, then they get no rewards.

Architecture complete: Campaign hashtag Monitoring

  • We’ve finished the architecture and database filtering for accounts to track campaign hashtags and report engagement on those hashtags.

Next steps will be building out the front-end UI/UX so it is available to projects using the platform. This will give them the ability to add a specific hashtag to monitor and users who use that hashtag in their posts will be populated into a widget that shows engagement metrics for those posts with the ability to click into a report with a more comprehensive breakdown of all metrics.
